" Wait Christianity? Please don’t tell me you’re another Anglo-Saxon that’s come over here to try and convert us all, we’re quite happy being Pagans thank you very much. "

"Um... maybe." He said quietly, suddenly feeling very awkward. "I didn't realise that anyone else had come here, I was told I would be the first. All I'm asking is one evening to talk to your people, and then I'll be out of your hair."

"No, i ain't got time to talk about your Lord an' Savior, I'm in the middle of a demon hunt, an' you're standin' in the field of fire."

"A… a demon hunt?" He asked nervously. Why did he have to start at such a strange place. "I… are you sure it’s a demon? Who even are you?" Everything he had learnt suddenly was replaced in Charlie’s mind with fear.

"Saw ‘im smoke down a few minutes back.  Robert Singer, But my friends call me Bobby.  I own this place."  Bobby smiled, He knew the demon in question, and the two of them played with the Mormons and JW who made it out this far from town.  They would scare the pants off the elder and hopefully they would leave him alone for a while.  Not to mention, Bobby, if he had to claim anything would be a back-slidden catholic.

"Oh... right." The mission training center hadn't prepared him for anything like this. He took a shaky breath and smiled nervously. "Well, I'm Elder Bass from the Church of Latter Day Saints. Are you... are you interested in joining Mormonism?"

"You exist!" Charlie laughed softly in amazement. "I always thought you existed. My parents said that it was just a fairy story, but I never listened to them. Wait, what do you mean finally? How long have you been waiting?"

He shrugged softly. “I’m just sick of people not listening to me. I understand if they don’t have the same views but there is no need to be so rude about it.”

"Of course I do! Who do you think brings all the snow days and frost pictures?" A smile lit up Jack’s face. "Thank you!"

    -“About 300 years or so, why?”

 ”I’ve watched that happen over the years. People don’t like change. Most people, at least. When people don’t understand something, they all react in different ways.” He shrugged, sighing.

"Well I always hoped it would be you. Most people say it is just science though. But my life is all about belief so I thought that hey, if God exists why can't you?"

His eyes widened slightly at that. "300 years? How have you survived so long alone? It must have been terrible."

"No, i ain't got time to talk about your Lord an' Savior, I'm in the middle of a demon hunt, an' you're standin' in the field of fire."

Sarah looked at the young man standing outside her door. "Can I help you?"

"Actually I was wondering if I could help you." He smiled brightly, the book clutched tightly in his hands. "What do you know about the Church of the Latter Day Saints?"

Oh god, one of these guys. Sighing, she decided to give the guy a chance. He was cute. “Can’t say I know anything,” she said, opening the door, “why don’t you come in and tell me about them?” She invited. That way she could test and see if he was human.

"Really?" Charlie’s face lit up in surprise. "Thank you, I’d love that." He walked in and smiled at her. Well he had already gotten further than he had before.

"Of course," she said naturally, watching as he stepped right through the devils trap. "It’s cold outside," she commented, closing the door with her foot.

"It is. And it’s even colder when people throw snow at you." He admitted, shivering softly. "Not that I have any right to complain."

"Snow?" She asked in surprise. Sure, she wasn’t usually so nice to door to door preachers, but throwing snow was taking it a little far. "That’s awful," she murmured.

He shrugged lightly. “Yes but I’m used to it. It’s not stopped me preaching and doing what I love.”

She smiled at him. “Good for you - Can I take your coat?” She asked, holding out her hand. He seemed like a sweet kid - he really did. “I’m Sarah by the way.”

"Oh thanks." He smiled and took his coat off, handing it to Sarah. "It’s good to meet you, I’m Elder Bass."

Sarah smiled, hanging the coat up. “Elder? That’s an… Interesting name,” she murmured. “Why don’t come through to the kitchen, and you can talk me all about this church.

He laughed softly. “Oh no, that isn’t my first name. It’s just a title. My first name is Charlie.” He looked at her cautiously. “Are you actually interested in the church, or are you just trying to make me feel better by letting me in?”

"It’s nice to meet you Charlie," she said happily, smiling at him. Shrugging to his question, her smile became slightly lopsided. "Little bit of both," she admitted. "I mean, you looked fairly cold, I couldn’t just leave you out there - and I’m always happy to learn new things." Not to mention the fact there was leads for her latest hunt connecting to the church.

"Well, what do you want to know?" Charlie asked a little nervously. He wasn't used to getting so far when talking to people which meant he wasn't as prepared as he should have been.

"Believe in you?" He asked, studying the stranger carefully, the staff especially caught his attention. "Wait… are you… are you Jack Frost?"

Charlie was brought back to his sentences and nodded his head. “I’m fine, just had a bit of a bad evening. He instantly stepped back and smiled softly. “Thank you, I won’t go on it again.”

"Yes! That’s my name! I am Jack Frost." Jack whooped, the wind lifting him up and spinning him around. "Someone sees me! Finally!"

He touched back down on the surface of the lake, frost patterns reaching out from his feet. “What’s wrong?” Jack stepped forward, hopping on top of his staff. “And don’t worry, I just haven’t had the time to freeze it completely yet.”

"I’m Elder Charlie Bass. Do you need any help?" All thoughts of religion went of the window. Charlie just wanted to help the stranger.

"I don’t know. It depends…" Jack cocked his head to the side, a confused look on his face. "Do you believe in me?"

He stopped, watching the other walk towards him. He tapped the wood bit on the surface of the lake warily.

"I don’t think so mister, but, do you need help? You seem…sad?" He asked, leaning against his staff. "I wouldn’t walk on the ice too far out, if I were you. It’s thin."

"Believe in you?" He asked, studying the stranger carefully, the staff especially caught his attention. "Wait... are you... are you Jack Frost?"

"We have Easter as well." He said defensively. "And it isn’t, because we have someone who is powerful enough to control everything in the universe rather than just one aspect of it. Have someone like that is incredible and humbling."

Well that had failed miserably. The evening felt like a complete waste of time. Not only had Charlie managed to convert a grand total of no people, the door had been slammed in his face twice and a newspaper had been thrown at him.

Charlie sat down and stared at the lake, trying to calm himself down when he heard the shouting. He frowned softly and looked up, his eyes widening when he saw the stranger. What was someone his age doing out so early?

"Um, are you ok?" Charlie asked cautiously.

"…are you ok?" The words reached Jack, causing him to stiffen, and slowly turn towards the newcomer.

     ”You….you can…see me?” He mumbled, staring at the boy sitting near the edge of the lake.

     Jack walked closer slowly, as if afraid moving quickly would scare the person away.
