Tomorrow is the first performance for The Lost Boys Musical!! 🎉🎉🎉
Here are some important reminders for y'all:
This is not a copy and paste of the movie just on stage. The plot, characters and overall themes are going to have some differences. It should not be judged for how close/different it is from the original
A lot of costume choices are done to accommodate the performers as they're dancing and doing stunts. It's hard to do a tap dance in boots with spurs lol
Same goes for makeup. Due to quick change limits, we may not have our usual vampire faces for the boys. It can take hours to recreate, and they don't have that kind of time in between songs and acts. Please don't be upset if it's not an exact copy of the original looks
The cast and crew are just doing their jobs. It's a project they're all proud of, and they're just having fun with it. Be nice!!
Speaking of which, these actors are not replacing the og cast. They're not taking over the image of these characters, and the og cast would not want us to be rude to them. They're rooting for the newbies, and we should too!
Remember that as much as we love to make theories and add more character to our boys, the fact is we know next to nothing about them aside from what we see in the movie. Not to mention they have only a handful of lines. The musical actors are allowed to do what they want with these characters because they're essentially working with blank canvases.
Yes, I know Marko and Dwayne have swapped appearances. No, I do not know why they decided to do that. But it really doesn't matter because once again, this is not the movie. It's a whole different take on the story and the characters.
If you go see the show, be safe and have fun! If you see the professional (or bootleg) recording, try to give it a watch. If you don't like it, that's fine! Just be respectful 👍
If you do like it, I suggest supporting the other works of the cast. They're all incredibly talented (not to mention the boys themselves are actually playing their own instruments) and I suggest giving their social media a follow to further support their talents!
