Zero One UraKamen had interviews not just with the cast, but also with the production team, with people like the main director Sugihara Teruaki and action director Watanabe Jun. Also with the main writer, Takahashi Yuya, producer Omori Takahiro, and representatives from Ishimori Pro.
One thing I learned is that the process of the show is not as easy as having producer pick a writer to work with, writer writes whatever he wants, director takes the script and makes a show.
There are a lot more people involved in the decision making and where they want to take the show. It can be as detailed as having to go interview an AI expert institute, and as weird as asking each other “what do you think?” “yeah, what do you think?” xD
Also, that funny things can happen like Takahashi-sensei writing a character that’s intended to be very funny, producer Omori suggesting they give them gag names, said chara is re-named Fukkinhoukai Tarou, as in laughing too much the abdomen hurts, but casting staff understood it as “oh you mean someone with abs” and got Nakayama Kinnikun to act the character xD
Same thing happened with Amagasaki Ren, where Takahashi-sensei originally wrote him as a young, charismatic, suave character, close to Taiga and Kuroto in age. But somewhere along the way the casting staff misunderstood and cast a funny older person instead lol xD
