Walking surrounded by these colours almost makes me forget of the neverending pile of assignments that I have to complete 🍁

• I usually bum out on Wednesdays cause the lab is closed but friends dragged me to the library. Editing was slow but I made a bit of progress which is better than no progress.
• I’m excited to go and test tomorrow because I coated the inside of my… container?? With epoxy and I have a good feeling.
• I read a bunch today.
• I crossed off 2 things from my weekly to do list today so I’m feeling very fulfilled. I also made stew for the next few days and it’s so good, a bit too much pepper but I love it.

Last night I took myself on a date to Musée d'Orsay and I got a bit emotional. The last time I went there was right before the second 2020 french lockdown, a trip completely organised by my ex. It felt strange to be back there, now as somebody living in Paris. I thought I’d feel nostalgic, but instead I felt excited for all the other museums I’ll visit with all the other friends I’ll meet. Life goes on, and that’s a very pretty thing 🤍
Studied for 5h, went swimming, and roasted some chestnuts 🌰🍂
skipped work, had bagels for breakfast and made a new friend

*does five minutes of work* ok now i deserve a three week break. No consequences please 👍
i’m not gonna lie to y’all, this phd program is hard. it’s so different from math and requires a lot of reading a writing. i’m definitely experiencing some sort of imposter syndrome because unfortunately it does feel like i’m the only one struggling.
my mom has been my biggest support system, but other than that i feel like i have no one i can turn to for help. i’m kind of fighting for my life, and i’ve thought about quitting multiple times, but i can’t quit because then i have to pay back my fellowship and worst of all i won’t get my doctorate, which is one of my major life goals.
advice and support is appreciated. if you’re also doing your phd in the social sciences, maybe we can form a group chat or something to thug it out and help each other.
