I left for work at 7am but arrived home 10am. They suspended work that day because there were news circulating in messaging apps that lockdown will be declared. Later that night, the first episode of the late night presscons aired and it added more confusion to the anxiety that everyone was feeling. It was a terrible day that led to a terrible year but looking back I just laugh at the absurdity of everything that happened. Sometimes I even forget that it was real. PS. Florence by Mountains Genre: visual novel (one ending) Paid game (usually $3 but I got it on sale at $1) The game is basically an interactive picture book. It has no dialogue but the music and gameplay do a great job in telling the story. I love the art style, it's minimalist but so satisfying to look at. My Child Lebensborn by Sarepta Studio Genre: simulation, visual novel (one ending) Paid game (usually $3 but I got it on sale for $1.5) The story is set post-WWII and in this simulation game, you play as a foster parent who adopted a "Lebensborn", a child of a Nazi soldier with a Norwegian woman. The game is based on real life events and was made to raise awareness on the plight of Lebensborns who were discrimated against and bullied just by having "Nazi blood". It's a sad and heavy game that deals with sensitive topics that's why this game was rated 13+ by Google Play. The game is an eye-opener however. My main takeaway from it is that evil is not exclusive to certain groups of people but that even supposed victims have the capacity to oppress if circumstances allow. Recommended? Alto's Odyssey and Alto's Adventure by Team Alto Genre: endless run Free game It's just a typical runner game where the objective is mainly to avoid obstacles but this game is a staple in my phone, I am never uninstalling it haha. I love the game's minimalist but colorful graphics and relaxing music; they do a good job in immersing you in a different world where you fly high and run free. Personally, I like Odyssey more than Adventure because it features different locations which allow you to make more varied trick combos. Recommended? Alter Ego by Caramel Column Genre: clicker, visual novel (multiple endings) Free game (although I bought the expansion packs because I really loved the game) This game is brilliant! It's a self-discovery clicker game taking off from Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theories on identity and ego. I know that clicker games are supposed to be played casually but I binged this game just to find out the three endings 😆 The game also discusses the themes of several literature classics (i.e. The Little Prince, The Metamorphosis, to name a few), something bookworms would all the more enjoy. Life of Boris by @the_life_of_boris Genre: casual (with different mini games) Free game I downloaded the game because I am a fan of Boris's Youtube channel haha. I discovered him through his cooking tutorials but eventually ended up enjoying even his gaming and various Slavic culture videos. The Life of Boris game is short but sweet, it's a game you would want to play if you don't want to think about anything haha. Recommended?
