MARGHERITA PAOLETTI is a little girl made up of many little girls, hanging on a swing that playfully goes in and out of her fantastic inner world.
On 11 December, @margherita_paoletti led the artist’s workshop “Erbario immaginario” organised by @scuola_di_sant_osvaldo as part of the initiatives of the @santa_maria_distretto_rovereto
Born in Fabriano, with experience abroad, she put down roots in Rovereto, for her a delightful, small but lively town.
In cold Estonia she learnt to engrave by hand, in Kōfu in Japan she picked up the attention to detail, especially botanical.
It is within an androgynous body-symbol, whose innards are too obscure for our artist, that Margherita raises her elegant vegetable creatures: flowers, leaves and branches invade faces, busts, arms and hair, changing into decorations or tattoos.
Everything is coloured, her brush distributes acrylics without passing through the academy. A source of infinite combinations, arranged with great confidence, combining the static tradition of Italian painting with restless colours that rebel against the eye.
Margherita is since her childhood predisposed to the coexistence of different styles and modes. From her we expect sudden changes of scenery.
Her works are optimistic: it is lucky for us to learn that Margherita has set up her workshop here, and that her work, together with that of @federicoseppi and @stefania__mazzola will be exhibited in our City Museum and in the Santa Maria district next month.
