Nine times out of ten in life, Noah was probably late to just about every meeting she had scheduled. With Margot, however, it had never been the case. She looked forward to seeing the woman, enjoyed their time together, and surprisingly made the effort to show up on time and in some cases even early to any of their appointments. Now that they were regularly hanging out outside of the office, it was even easier to wake up and get out of Molly’s apartment so she could make it over on time. With her usual rowdy flair, Noah pushed open the door to Margot’s office, probably causing more noise than was entirely necessary. “Miss Chambers. Always an absolute and utter pleasure,” she greeted, making her way over to take a seat across from Margot at her desk. The temptation to greet her more intimately was always there, but Margot was good about maintaining those boundaries when it came to their professional relationship.
Noah kicked back and made herself comfortable, a brow lifting with interest as Margot shut her office door behind them. That wasn’t her usual, but Noah wasn’t complaining about it either. “Now, that is a very wild guess. Can’t imagine a time I didn’t follow the rules,” Noah joked, snorting softly before letting her shoulders lift in a casual shrug. “I’ve mostly followed them. Generally. Wouldn’t want to disappoint you by not giving you something to fix.” Noah did a pretty good job following any of the plans that Margot set out for her most days and the days that her diet didn’t quite line up with what it should, she worked out hard enough to hopefully make up for it. Really, her only big downfall when it came to her diet was the drinking. “You alright today?” Though, yes, the session was meant to be about her and her nutrition program, she always asked after Margot, checking in on the woman before they got too deeply into anything serious.
“Likewise, Miss Fielding,” Margot chimed back with a subtle nod of her head. For the first time since arriving at work this morning, she felt like she could breathe a little bit easier. Noah was the kind of person that made things like that easy. While they had been on a countless number of dates lately, Margot had come to fancy the kind of silent banter they could have with one another. They didn’t talk about the serious things in life. Sure, they talked about deeper topics whenever it came to the grand scheme of the world, but never their true blue problems. Everything was always happy go lucky and sunny days in each other’s presence, which was exactly how Margot was wanting things to be. Especially with everything that was going horribly wrong with Asher. She might have been emotionally tied up in her home life, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t mindlessly flirt with someone like Noah, someone special enough.
Margot folded her hands on top of her desk after she sat back down, eyes glazing over at Noah’s lines being thrown around. She really was a very cool person, which only fueled Margot in keeping her around. “Remember, I hate the word ‘fix’. I’m bettering your lifestyle,” she delivered with a cheesy grin placed on her lips. Truthfully, all of the nutrition go to one liner’s had never been something that Margot used seriously with Noah. It was no use, especially given the blasé manner in which Noah saw things. She wasn’t even sure if the woman would be listening to her if there weren’t... extra perks to the task at hand. You alright? It was a simple question, but one that Margot still wasn’t necessarily sure how she was supposed to respond to. Instead, she just nodded her head with a smile that was much smaller than the one she had been doting moments before. “I’m fine, just a tough morning. Better now that you’re here though,” Margot chimed, tilting her head to the side as she took in the woman before her. It was always tricky having her in the office, especially with the added privacy of the door being closed. God, why had she done that? “But that... does not matter. This is your appointment. Is there anything we need to discuss about this past week’s goals or shall I just keep piling them on?”
