It’s true she’s not exactly thrilled to have him of all people resurface after so many years…it was hard getting by after that. There was so much she had to hide away, keep secret, push down when it came to him.
It was like tearing into an old wound, fresh pain ripping into her heart all over again.
And as much as it seems she’s upset…she’s doing a damn good job of holding back just how hurt she really felt. It ran so much deeper than anyone would ever know.
Swallowing thickly, she keeps her focus on Jak, waiting for whatever it was he was going to say…and does her best not to snap that tiny bit when he decides to back-pedal out of the conversation.
