“Damn it…damn it.”

Ratchet’s never met the guy, never even caught his name. All he knows is that one-minute, he was fighting alongside the Galactic Rangers, giving those invaders with the glowing skulls a run for their money – and making some hilarious cracks about them in the process – and the next, he was down, bleeding and unconscious, full of shrapnel. 

He only lasted a minute. Medics are rushing up, but it’s too late.

“I’m sorry, pal…” he murmurs, and he explains the situation to the medics before throwing himself back into the fray, feeling sadder and sicker than he did when he got here.
