Requested: Mikey x Shinigami
Honestly, I've never given this much thought, I mostly saw it as Mikey recognizing beauty when he sees it, but I see the vision.
I thought for a while, since I couldn't decide on a shipname:
I think it's cute Mikey's canonically a cat person and witches are mist associated with cats so I also hc her as a cat person.
I like the dynamic that's in mind for this, sun x moon but not exactly in the stereotypical way. The sun can be messy, so loud, for some people it borders on annoying. It can be a beach day to lie around and get a funny patterned sunburn your bathing suit lift you.
The moon is menacingly femenine, misterious, dark and magical. But she can be giddy cocky and menacing. She can be evil and unpredictable like the tides she pulls back and forward.
Villain x hero is of course always welcomed on this page. And it's clear TMNT loves this trope too, but I guess they wanted to do it with people who weren't debatably related this time. No hate to LeoRai shippers either, ship and let ship.
It wouldn't be out of the ordinary for cartoons, pair the goddess of purple and night with the pizza dude who only wears underwear to sleep. No hate to Mikey, he's loved in this account.
I could also compare them to grapes and citrus fruits, grapes fall gracefully off the plant, they can be sweet or sour, light coloured or a mysterious purple, but every bite is fresh and leaves you wanting more. Most people like them without seeds because of how bitter they are, but honestly I see Mikey loving them whole.
Citrus is stongly flavored, fresh and feels like morning. I see Shinigami eating his whole sunny personality up, then painting his ensemble until he looks like he reads Edgar Allen Poe.
It kinda looks like the powerpuff ending scene of every episode.
First look he gave her, someone make an animatic of this in slow mo with a stupid old disney song.
Look at him smiling on the floor while she smiles doen at him, he's right where he wants to be.
Adoring gf while she mischiviouses.
You with the dark locks, you with the water colour eyes.
Their weapons actually match so well, it would be a good visual for a big fight. Too bad Shini didn't get that much screentime.

Get Mikey in the emo outfit again, this would've been a good shot if he had joined the boycott trio.
★ Mikey takes Shini to the lair all the time, he introduced her to Ice Cream Kitty, she loves her. And ICK loves her too, Shini has a magical touch with cats.
★ Shini introduced him to her cat. I think they're both obviously cat people.
★ If they were alt, she'd be goth and he'd be scene.
★ They have movie nights, they give bad reviews to Bradford's movies together.
★ Shini loves horror movies, Mikey action movies.
★ Mikey still loves D&D and larping. She goes along with it because his roleplaying makes her laugh, but she doesn't change her clothes for it. Her excuse is that she's playing 'the evil witch'.
★ Sometimes if they use their weapons at the same time, swimg and miss, they get tangled together. It's more often than you'd think.
★ Sometimes Shini visits him during patrol and surprises him as a cat. He always forgets she can do that. He'll pet her a few times before realizing again.
★ Hisbbros are wary of his less-than-saintly crushes since what happened with Bradford but Karai hit them over the head, Shini is nothing like that.
★ Mikey collects action figures and Shini collects those replicas of movie size Chucky, Tiff and those little figures of movie killers.
★ "Letting my hot witch GF sacrifice me to the devil"
★ Movie night, Shini's turn to choose a movie, Mikey has talked himself into making a move tonight but he keeps jumping at every jumpscare. Not the smoothest look.
★ The Last Ronin but Shinigami keeps following him around his missiona to try to talk. He recognizes her cat form everytime and keept avoiding her.
★ Mutant Apocalypse Mikey in the food place he hid in getting flashbacks about a pretty gal with purple makeup and a witch hat when he's finger painting the walls when he was yet to be found by Raph and Donnie.
★ Another D&D adventure!! Now Shini is literally playing against the turtles as the evil witch. His brothers confromt him after for not helping them defeat her. Lil bro has a reason.
★ Cooking lessons!! They take them together with old tapes because Shini wasn't convinced with his "methods" (cramming everything into a pizza)
