Virgo Tattoo

♍- Astrological symbol of Virgo, the constellation of the virgin. There are many myths to Virgo. One I will share is the story of Persephone and Hades. Persephone, daughter of Zeus and Demeter, had been captured by Zeus’ brother, Hades. Revengeful, her mother destroyed the harvests, making Earth infertile and people starving. Zeus resolved the issue by stating that Persephone could only spend a short time a year with Hades, and when she came back to Earth, Demeter let Nature resume it’s natural course. 

∀- The symbol for the element of earth. Other earth signs include Taurus and Capricorn.

☿- Mercury, Virgo’s ruling planet. Represents communication, thought processes, and ideas.
