The last few drawings were inspired from some hcs/aus @meryuukan (twt) and I concocted! 🧑🍳🧑🍳 Some of our thoughts below!
The Nohrian royals are high vampires thanks to their dusk dragon boon. Hoshidan royals are trained onmyojis that exorcises them and can utilize special techniques using their dawn dragon blood to seal these high vampires.
Nohrians —> need blood to live
Hoshidans —> need blood to defend
Blood is more or less a currency in the vampire society. Non-vampire (commoner) Nohrians pay taxes with blood. Nohrian court is full of "lesser" vampires. Very casual in making blood a common occurrence (blood letting, blood rituals, normal banquets that double as blood feast—).
There's never enough blood in Nohr with the malnutrition brought on by famines. A huge problem in Nohr is that the noble court don't need real food, so they aren't motivated to help the common folk in that regard. Because of this, poor Nohrians have been raiding the Hoshidan borders for food. They could also kidnap a healthy Hoshidan to get some cash from a noble.
Camilla is pretty ravenous and extravagantly feasts on blood regularly. Xander and Elise have really good self control and don't feast on it unless there's a special feast or event. Leo downright abstains from blood.
However, Xander and Leo can get addicted easily if they find the right partner.

The two met when Sakura got lost and ventured into Nohrian territory. She senses a vampire (Leo) and tries to exorcise him using a fulu. This has no effect on Leo, a royal vampire. Babygirl faints and when she wakes up, she's in one of the royal villas. Leo questions her technique and then after a week of research later, points out her mistakes and tells her to try again. She corrects her technique and it felt like a papercut to him.
Leo: Goads Sakura to try sealing him for science not knowing she's a Hoshidan royal... an actual threat.
He's really excited to learn exorcising techniques but it's knowledge he keeps to himself.
Although he is usually indifferent towards blood, Sakura's royal blood tempts him somehow. Perhaps the dragon blood he has craves for more dragon blood? Her blood was already naturally sweet... you prob know why lol
His siblings doubted he could land a mate since he obsesses over his magic studies until Saku arrives. Now he makes sure Sakura has no open cuts when they're nearby bc he doesn't want to share.
He gets really territorial over her, primal senses engage!
When he feeds on her, its mostly tons of small nibs. It's tempting to not drink more or else something might happen ;))) blood does make them h0rny...
Sakura's dragon blood allows her to heal quickly! More for Leo
