“Deal…” Rose agrees, hesitantly. “Alright, all my life I’ve been bounced from foster home to foster home. Now, I’m here with this really, really nice family. They buy me nice clothes, they take me to violin lessons, they bought me new books. Everything. Yet, I still can’t shake the feeling that… Well, that they’ll leave.”
Marie listened and opened her mouth to offer advice when she remembered it was her turn. “Well, I guess I’m next.” She finally said, taking a deep breath. “I’m a troublemaker and a lesbian. My parents kicked me out. And I’m pretty sure they hate me. My older brother he..He won’t even look at me. Or return my calls. Or anything. And then, even though I had this amazing girlfriend I ditched her because....because I felt like I couldn’t breathe. And now I’m back. And I think she hates me. And..I think maybe my life is falling apart.”
