things i like the most about thgll:

it feels like actual hunter/gates story!! it feels like an actual action fantasy genre!! i don't like when the action setting is just a setting, flimsily taped together cardboard as a background to romance. I can't even put down what makes it feel so different. maybe there's a difference in the way action sequences are handled.
