"Well now, this is a surprise." I heard a familiar snicker and opened my eyes to see that oh so familiar smirk. "Ruggie-san." I greeted as I sat up.

"Good morning sleepyhead. More like afternoon." he merely said with a short chuckle, as he plopped down beside me, "I was looking for Leona-san, but ended up finding you." he then looked around, as if looking for someone else.

"Grim's with Ace and Deuce."

"Ahh, that explains the quietness." he then looks at me, "So whay brings you napping at the greenhouse? Marking your territory or something? Leona-san won't like it, you know."

I sighed, "I told the others that I'd be going to Sam's to get some snacks and dinner later for the dorm, Grim didn't want to come. I came here after and somehow nodded off." I explained, then added sheepishly, "I can see why Leona-senpai likes sleeping here. It's quiet."

"Haha don't get used to it. If he was the one who saw you today, he'd kick you out." we laughed at his comment, "So that was what I was smelling earlier." he pointed at the bag with items I bought from Sam's.

I nodded and took out a box of mini doughnuts, "I know you like doughnuts, want some?"

I saw his eyes light up, "Really?!"

I nodded and not even a second did he get the doughnuts and eat them. "Thanks Yuu-kun," he said between doughnuts. "But I thought it's for the dorm."

"It's meant to be snacked on. And it was essentially for the case you or the others come over to the dorm, I have something for the guests." I took a doughnut and ate them, "Also...."

"Hm?"

"To keep it a secret from Leona-senpai that I slept here..." I said slowly and sheepishly, averting my eyes elsewhere.

He burst into laughter, "So this was a bribe," he said in between laughs.

"Bribe... Bribe's a strong word..."

I was taken in surprise when I felt his hand on my head, Is he patting me? 

"Sure sure, I'll take your bribe--"

"It's not a bribe--"

His smirk grew bigger, "Then in return... You gotta help me at Savanaclaw with some chores."

"Geh." I let out a small reaction, clearly not liking what he's asking of me.

He let out another laugh, most likely because of the facial expression I made. 

"The last time I helped you out, I couldn't properly move my body the following day." carrying so many large bedsheets, blankets and uniforms were a pain.

"You're just weak, Yuu-kun." he said with a small chuckle as he finished the box of doughnuts. "Well, I'll also consider this as payment for my silence~"

"So, I won't help you out with chores?" I asked expectantly. 

He merely smirked and stood up, "We'll see."

I grumbled, not wanting to do Savanaclaw's laundry or cleaning. As looked up and saw Ruggie-senpai hold out his hand, and without any questions I took it as he helped me get up.

"Well if you don't really want to do it, I'll think of something else."

So he has something else in mind.

I thought to myself as we walked out of the greenhouse. The sun was setting, when we got out. Did I take a long nap...?

I looked at Ruggie-senpai as we walked... Hm?

"Are you walking me back to the dorm?"

"Hm? Yeah."

"I thought you were looking for Leona-senpai."

​​​​"Well, I just needed to ask him about something, but it can wait until I see him back at the dorms." he shrugged. 

I guess it wasn't that important.

We soon arrived at the front door, and by that time the sun had already set. I thanked him for accompanying me.

"Sure~ No problem" he said before turning back to leave. I stopped him as I rummaged my bag to get another box of mini doughnuts.

"Oh? Another bribe?" he teased as he took the box.

I shook my head, "A gift...?"

He stared at me before bursting into laughter, "It's not even my birthday, y'know." he said, still laughing. 

I pouted, wondering why he would laugh at my kind gesture. "If you don't want it then give it back." I said as I stepped forward to get the box from him, but he quickly moved his arm to move it away from me.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding." he was starting to settle down, but still had that huge grin on his face. "Well I'll get going. Leona-san might be back at the dorm."

He walked back and headed towards his dorm.

"See you tomorrow, Ruggie-senpai!"

He waved his hand, his back still towards me as he walked past Ace, Deuce and Grim. "Yuu! Where have you been this whole time? We went to Sam's and he said you had already left." Ace said.

"Was that Ruggie-senpai?" Deuce noted.

"More importantly, did you buy me more tuna?!" Grim asked.

"Ah... Yeah, I was just with him after I was done at Sam's." I explained, "Anyways, are you coming in or...? It won't be long till Heartslabyul's curfew though." I mentioned to Ace and Deuce, who stiffened and ran to head back to their dorm.

"Bye Yuu! Grim! See you tomorrow!" Ace shouted. I waved at the two as I chuckled at their frantic mess, "Well, let's head back inside, Grim. I got tuna." I told him as I opened the door to our dorm and greeted the familiar ghosts waiting for us.

"Great!"

"So... why are you all here again?" Grim looked at his fellow first years, lounging around in the Ramshackle dorm's guest room, while I placed the teacups on the table alongside with some snacks. 

'We heard you guys cleaned up this room and we thought of visiting." Ace said happily, looking around the newly furnished room. "Why'd you decide to clean up this place anyway?"

I shrugged, "The headmaster and the ghosts recommended that I clean it up and turn it into a guest area. The lounge area is fine to hangout in, but they said that having a room where you guys can come and chill would be cool to have." I said, recalling my talk with the headmaster about this room.

"Plus, it's nice to make use of the vacant rooms found in this dorm." I added.

"That's true. Oh! Vil-senpai asked me to send you this as a gift for the new room." Epel said, "He said something along the lines of, 'This may as well make your dorm a bit more beautiful.' or something like that." he added sheepishly.

"Thanks," I said as I received the gift, "I have been thinking of decorating this place," I told them, "I'm saving up to get more decorations or furniture. But..."

"Hm? What's wrong?" Jack asked me, as he finished his drink. 

I pointed at Grim, "Most of my money is spent on buying tuna."

"Ahhh..." They all looked at Grim as they understoos my concerns. "Hm?" Deuce then saw a gargoyle displayed on the wall.

"Where'd you get that?"

"Hm? Oh. Sebek and Silver-san came over yesterday, delivering that to me from their prefect."

"Malleus-senpai gave it?!"

I nodded, "He visited one night and I told him that I was decorating this room. The following day, he sent those two as a gift."

"Ahh..."

"That's some gift." Ace commented as I could only sheepishly smile in response. "Kalim-senpai was about to send me an elephant, then Jamil-senpai stopped him."

They looked at me in surprise, but also in awe at the idea of Scarabia's prefect was about to gift.

"Should... Should we tell our prefect to send something to Ramshackle?" I saw Deuce whisper to Ace.

"What could defeat an elephant though?!" Ace whispered--shouted at Deuce, making it seem like decorating our guest room with different artifacts from the different dorms was some kind of competition.

Just as I was about to tell them not to worry, we heard the doorbell ring.

I left the room to open the front door and greet the new visitor, "Oh, Ortho!"

"Hello! Was I late?" He asked as I led him inside, and guided him to where everyone else was.

"No, not really."

"Oh! Ortho!" Ace greeted, "We were just talking about what our dorm should gift Yuu over here to decorate this room."

"Oh?"

"Diasomnia sent that gargoyle over there." Deuce pointed at our wall decoration.

"Vil-senpai gifted this table piece," Epel said. "Scarabia was about to send something bigger but was stopped."

"I see, so what has Savanaclaw sent? Has Octavinelle sent something as well?" Ortho asked me. I shook my head, "It's not really a requirement to gift us something."

Jack shrugged, "I doubt Leona-senpai would bother to gift one either."

"Ohhh. I should ask nii-san on what to gift you, Yuu, Grim." Ortho said.

"Just more tuna cans will be great!" Grim exclaimed as I sighed, "You guys really don't have to."

"But it would be nice to have a little trinket decorating this place, don't you think?" Ace asked.

"Hm?" we all looked at Ace. 

"Yuu's been helping our dorms alot, and I think it'd be pretty cool for you to have a memento from each of our dorms. Since you've been a huge impact on all of us." Ace said with a grin.

"Ace..."

"Says the guy who didn't want to give him prize money to renovate the entire dorm." Grim scoffed, but with a slight tease.

"Grim!"

"Shut up! This and that are different!"

I chuckled, "But I do appreciate what you were saying, Ace. Thanks. It would be nice to decorate this place with memories of the other dorms. Especially since I'll be inviting you guys over alot."

"Right?" Ace grinned, as the others agreed.

"Well it doesn't have to be a big item like what Diasomnia gifted." Deuce pointed out

Epel, Jack and Ortho agreed. "Maybe we can print out pictures and frame them!" Epel suggested.

"That's a great idea! I'll ask Cater-senpai if he has some pictures we could use." Deuce said as he took out his phone and texted Cater.

The rest continued to talk about possible gifts and items that could decorate the room, while Grim spoke to me, "You didn't have to worry about furnishings after all."

I chuckled as I saw the sight of our friends happily talking, "Yeah."

"Yuu!"

The boy turns around at the call of his name, and smiles as he greets them, "What took you so long?"

His friend sheepishly smiles, scratching the back of his head, "My mom just nagged me a bit before leaving. Anyway, I'm here now so let's go!"

"Why's a grown man so excited to go to Disneyland?" Yuu chuckles as he teased his excited friend, who rolled his eyes and nudged Yuu's arm. 

"Don't you know? Disneyland was made for adults, not kids. But, it's for everyone!"

"I know--"

"Anyway, let's go or we'll miss the train--"

"I had a strange dream last night." Yuu said after entering with his friend.

"Oh? What was it about?"

Yuu blinked, remembering his dream, "I don't remember much but... it felt like I dreamt about Disney characters?" 

"And I thought I was excited to come here." his friend scoffed.

Rolling his eyes, Yuu teased, "Nah, it was still just you. I just remembered when we entered." he pointed at one of the rides, "Wanna start there?"

"Let's start with Alice's Tea Party." he said.

Yuu stared at his friend, "Why?"

"Just cause," he smirked and dragged Yuu to the attraction's line. "So, about Disney characters?"

"Well, it looked like it was based off of Disney characters." he shrugged, "A magic school with dorms inspired by disney characters setup."

"Is that so... And you were like what?"

"A student."

"You had magic?!"

"No."

"Ehh..." 

Yuu raised his eyebrow, hearing his friend's disappointment. "But it was inspired by the disney villains."

"That's cool. So what did your magic-less self do." his friend asked

Yuu pondered awhile, trying to remember his dream, "...Attend class like any student," he shrugged.

"Damn. Even in your dream, you're still attending class."

"Fix people's problems..."

"...What?" he pointedly stared at Yuu, "Why?"

"I don't remember... but it felt like I was being some kind of errand person and help other people's problems." 

"Huh... Sounds tough." he said just when the two got to sit at one of the cups.

"I guess..." 

"At least it's just a dream, huh?"

"...Yeah--" Yuu nodded just as his friend started spinning the wheel of the teacup they were on.

"Sorry."

"Nah, it's fine." Yuu said as he sat on one of the park benches to rest his dizzy self. 

"I'll go get water."

"Thanks." and his friend left to buy water. He let out a sigh as he leaned on the bench and closed his eyes.

"Meow~"

A black cat came to sit beside you the bench. "Oh, hello there." Yuu greeted the black cat. "You a stray here in the park?"

"Yuu."

The boy flinched as he stared at the cat who timingly opened his mouth as he heard his name.

Did the cat just--

"Behind you." 

Yuu turned around and saw his friend with two water bottles and some snacks, "What? Did you think that cat talked?" his friend asked with a teasing tone.

Shaking off his surprise, "What? No." He takes the water bottle from his friend and drank from it.

"We may be in Disneyland, but we're not in some world where cats talk."

"I know."

"Let's go to Space Mountain next." 

"Sure." he stood up and they both headed to the next ride, also bidding a goodbye to the cat.

Yuu looked back at the bench he had sat on, the cat still sitting on the bench. 

He could still hear the voice who called out his name earlier, and pondered about it.

Weird... I could've sworn it was a different voice who called my name earlier though...

A vague small cat-like animal appeared in his memory

...Maybe because of my dream?

"Yuu?"

"Ah. Yeah?"

"Your head's on the clouds again."

"Ahahaha... Sorry." Yuu sheepishly laughed, "Anyway, let's get moving before the line gets too long."

"Yeah!"

Well, whatever. It was just a dream anyway.

"Oh! Yuu-kun!" Cater waved at me, after he noticed me peeking from the clubroom door.

I waved back and was gestured to come inside, "Hello." I greeted the other seniors in the room.

"What are you doing here?" Lilia asked me curiously, "Planning to join the club?" he then asked with that oh-so-familiar grin.

"Eh?! You are?!" Kalim exclaimed, "You and Grim are more than welcome!"

I shook my head and said sheepishly, "N-Not really. I'm just checking the different clubs. I saw some of them in the cultural festival, so I thought of checking them out after class."

"So you are thinking of joining~" Cater said, "What instrument can you do?"

"Ah-- No, I'm really just going around! Plus, I don't know how to play any instruments..." I said quickly as an excuse.

"Aww..." The three members of the Light Music Club pouted.

Somehow... They're all similar in their own way...

"A-Anyway... I'll go check the other club.. See ya!"

"Wait!--" I heard someone call my name but I ignored it as I just continued to run down the hallway.

"Maybe not in sports..." I muttered to myself as I passed by the track and field club, watching Deuce, Jack and the other club members do sprints at the whistle of Vargas.

I waved at Deuce, who noticed and waved a hand at me, before leaving the field and heading back home to the dorm. "Hm?" I stopped in my tracks as I saw a familiar dorm leader.

"Oh."

"Tsunotaro. Hello." I greeted the Diasomnia dorm leader, "What are you up to?"

"Club activities."

"Club activities?" I blinked as I remembered that he was part of the Gargoyle Research Society, and... it's sole member.

Malleus nodded, "One of the activities of the Gargoyle Research Society, is to examine the gargoyles of the academy." he told me, "And you? What are you doing?"

"Ahh, I was just checking out some clubs. Especially after seeing some of it from the cultural festival."

"Oh?"

I noticed Malleus' eyes brightened up a bit from the information, "Then would you be interested in joining?" he said with a small smirk.

I knew he'd say that...

"I'll think about it." I told him before he got any more ideas, "Thanks for the offer though. I'll see you around, Tsunotaro." I hurriedly said as I waved and left.

The fairy descendant chuckled, "Goodbye."

"I'm back." I announced as he entered the Omboro Dorm.

"Oh, welcome back. Why'd you decide to go out?" Grim greeted as Yuu walked into the living room.

"Just thought of checking out the clubs, that's all."

"Oh? Like the Magical Shift Club of Leona?"

I nodded, "Though I don't think I'll join that club."

"Why not?"

I shrugged, "Just cause. Well, I don't think I'll be joining any club for that matter." I sighed, sitting down on the couch, "On the way back here, I thought that the jobs the Headmaster gives, is more work than any of the clubs. And would just make me too busy to attend club activities." I explained to Grim.

"Even if he just does it from time to time." I added after a short thought.

"That's true." Grim said agreeingly. "And you'll eventually have to leave when he finds a way to bring you home."

"....That's true." I said after a few moments of silence, and let out a small sigh. "Well, I'll prepare for bed. Good night Grim."

"Hm?" Grim noticed the slight change of behavior from the boy, but replied nonetheless, "Good night."

finally done migrating all my fics from my previous fic dump blog (wordpress) lol

still busy with rl things so will probs not be able to post new fics anytime soon, but hopefully will get something for twst when ojt is over hehe

i’m mari (some probs knew me with the name lou, it’s fine either way)

i mostly write reader-inserts; but i sometimes write character ships, although rarely cause i haven’t been into any pairings lately.

i crosspost some of my fics to different writing sites like quotev & ao3 haha

im very into twisted wonderland right now, and forever will be in the hands of tsukino productions, and to an extension, sun pro entertainment (they sadly own my life and (non-existent)wallet)

i used to take requests and fic trades, but since i’ve been busy lately, i don’t really have the time for it. but i’ll post an announcement or smth about it when i’m able to.

I looked through Cater-senpai's MagiCam account on my phone as I took a bite out of my sandwich.

"What are you looking at, Yuu-kun?" Cater-senpai appeared and took a seat beside me in the cafeteria table, "Hm? Where's Grim-kun and the other two?"

"They went to get food again." I quickly put down my phone as I replied, surprised to see him, but didn’t see the other senpai who’s sometimes with him. "Trey-senpai?"

"He was called to the faculty room." He looked at my phone that I, not-so-discreetly, put down on the table and saw him smirking at me, "What were you doing checking my MagiCam account, Yuu-kun~?"

"Eh?"

"Why browse my posts without liking them?" he added with a pout. 

Ah. 

"Not even a follow~"

I sheepishly let out a chuckle, "Ahh... I actually don't have an account yet."

"You don't?"

I nodded my head, "That's why I'm just checking it out."

"Eh~" he pouted but soon grinned, "Then let's just make an account now~"

"E-Eh?"

"--And this is when you want to post a picture." Cater said as he finished teaching me the basics of MagiCam after he had setup my account. 

"I see..."

"So then," Cater took out his phone and opened the app, "There~ I followed your account~" he said as he showed me my newly made account and the mark of a 'Followed'.

"Thanks." I smiled as I followed Cater's account back. "I should go and follow Ace while I'm at it, huh?" I mumbled as I typed in Ace's name on the search account screen to look for his account.

Cater nodded, "By the way, why were you searching through MagiCam earlier?"

I glanced at Cater for a while before looking back at the phone screen, "Crowley...sensei... gave me a camera awhile back and told me I should take photos with it. I was just looking through MagiCam to get an idea of what kind of pictures I should take with it..."

"I see. Hm... Well, just take whatever you want that seems popular~"

"Popular, huh?" I closed his eyes in thought before facing Cater, "Say senpai. What do photos mean to you?"

"Eh?" Cater was taken aback by the question but just as I was about to take the question back, Grim and the others returned. 

"Oh! Cater-senpai!" Ace greeted along with Deuce and Grim. 

"Hey guys! Oh yeah, Yuu-kun made a MagiCam account~"

"You did?! Quick, follow me!"

"I did."

"Eh? You did? Wait--" Ace quickly took out his phone and checked the app, "Oh, you did! Now to follow you back--"

"Well, I'll just go then. I still have a few things to do you see~" Cater got up as I quickly grabbed his sleeve.

"Ah about that question earlier...you don't have to--"

"It's fine~" Cater interrupted, "Well, see you guys!"

"Bye senpai!" Ace waved as Cater left the cafeteria, "So, what did you two talk about?"

I shrugged, "...Nothing really."

"It's kind of surprising to see you sick, Yuu." I groaned as I opened my eyes from hearing Grim's voice. "I am a human." I said, wincing at the pain of my throat.

Grim let out a sigh, "Humans. Can be so weak to catch a small cold." He said as if it's a complaint. I let my eyes close, trying not bother myself to retort to that as I don't have any energy for it. 

As if I wanted to feel sick.

I let out a cough and snuggled further into my blanket. The ghosts were helpful enough in keeping the dorm warm and even instruct Grimm on how to take care of me. My clogged nose wasn't helping me feel any better as it was just giving a headache; I groaned as I heard Grimm leave the room by the ghosts' instruction to leave me to rest.

I let out a sigh, I wonder when the last time I was sick..., I thought to myself and made me think about my home. I barely have any memories, which I guess helps me in keeping myself from getting homesick, but... I wonder if anyone's looking for me. Getting sick like this... And not having a single contact of home... 

I sighed as I pushed my (lonely) thoughts away, as it was just making my headache feel worse than it already is. I closed my eyes and as I felt myself getting sleepy, I thought to myself, I wonder what the others are doing right now...

"You idiot! That's not what you should be giving to a sick person!" 

I groaned as I heard voices outside my room, and tried to open my eyes. I blinked a few times to get used to my surroundings and noticed that I had slept the whole afternoon, and it was already evening. I slowly sat up, feeling a bit better than this morning just as Grimm opened the door, with Jack, Ace, and Deuce trailing behind him. With Jack holding a tray of food and medicine for me to take.

"Oh! Yuu! You're awake, just in time!" Grimm exclaimed, "We brought food! Although, Ace here said that we should give you soup, so we did." he said, although he mumbled something about them arguing about what food to serve to me.

Ah. So it must have Ace who was shouting at Grimm. Grimm must have thought of giving me something else.

"Thanks," I said with a small smile, "Did you guys come here just for that?" I asked.

"We were wondering what had happened to you cause you weren't in school today. Until we saw one of your ghost friends at the cafeteria asking for some more hands to help to tend to you cause this guy's useless." Ace said, pointing at Grimm. 

"Hey! It's not my fault Yuu's weak!"

"Yuu's still human, you know." Ace argued.

"Anyway, Trey-senpai and Cater-senpai came with us to clean the dorm. By our prefect's orders that the dorm should be clean so that you can recover quickly." Deuce told me.

"Ruggie-senpai also shared a recipe," Jack said as he put down the tray on my side table, "You now owe him, he said." 

I chuckled, "It seems so... Tell him thanks."

Jack nodded.

"The other guys at the other dorms came and helped out one way or another by leaving something or what. Or said to tell you to get well soon." Grimm said with a shrug.

"The medicine's from Vil-senpai." Jack said, "The Octavinelle and Scarabia members said to get well soon as well..."

"Jamil-senpai nagged Kalim-senpai for being too loud at the lounge, before leaving. They did leave some food for you guys though." Ace chuckled, "Ignihyde even said their own get well soon wishes as well. Although it was via text." he added.

"Heh~"

"You sure are popular huh Yuu?" Deuce teased.

I shook my head, "Not really..." to think that these famous dorm heads and members would go out and do this for someone like me. Sure I've helped them, but...

Nonetheless, I found myself smiling, thankful for meeting everyone regardless of how or why I was even here. "Thanks guys." I said softly.

They got off-guard by my thanks, but they grinned as Ace said, "For everything else you've done for us? This is nothing." He laughed, "But get well soon alright~? It's boring in school without you two."

Deuce and Jack nodded in agreement.

I nodded and grinned, "Yeah."

Ace, Deuce and Jack soon went back to their respective dorms, while Grimm told me that he'll sleep in the lounge; saying that he didn't want to catch my sickness. I rolled my eyes when he told me that. 

I stood up and went over to open the window and felt the cool air.

I almost stumbled back as Lilia-senpai appeared before me. I looked outside then at him, "This... This is the second floor, you know."

"And I am a fairy, you know~ I was about to knock on the front door but noticed you opening the window, so here I am~" he said as he entered my room, although he simply sat on my window sill.

He chuckled a bit, before placing a hand on my forehead, "Hmm... You're fever's gone down." he said, "Ah~ I wanted to take care of you, but Silver told me no." he said dejectedly. I somehow felt relief, as I remembered Silver telling me that senpai wasn't good at cooking.

"What brings you here, senpai?"

"Hm?"

"Did you forget?" I teased.

He frowned a bit, understanding my tease, before giving me a grin, "Of course not~ My master wishes for you to get well soon. And invites you to tea sometime."

"I see." I smiled, "Tell him I said thanks."

"And with that, I'll be heading back. Rest well alright~?"

I nodded, "Yeah..."

"Ah. Senpai."

He stopped to look at me, "Hm~?"

"Thanks... for coming by."

Just like the others earlier, he looked at me surprised. But it later turned into a smile, warmer than his usual smile -- almost like a parent's, and said, "No problem~" and then disappeared with his magic.

Thinking of going back to sleep, I closed my window and as I lied back down on my bed, a single thought passed my mind as I felt myself succumb to sleep. 

At least I'm not alone in this world...

"You cut this part..." Epel guided me where to cut into the apple. "Ah, please be careful with your fingers as well--"

I concentrated on the apple as I carefully start carving while watching for my fingers. When Epel demonstrated it earlier, he made it look so easy. 

"Don't hold the knife too hard." He instructed before showing me where to cut next. 

"Ehh..." I looked at my carved apple and noticed that my cuts weren't straight nor were the designs done as well as Epel's. "You're really good at this," I told him.

"It's like that at the start. It's difficult to maneuver the knife."

I nodded, "And I have to be careful to not cut myself too." I sighed as it was hard focusing one thing after another. "Let's bake macarons next time instead." 

His face lit up at the mention of macarons and then commented, "Macarons are hard to bake, yet you can't carve apples?"

"This and that are different! Plus, I've had a lot of baking practice from Heartslabyul." I retorted.

"Then you just have to practice apple carving." He argued back.

I sighed, "You're right. I do want to carve an apple as pretty as yours~"

He lightly chuckled, "Good luck."

"Excuse me?"

Tsunotarou-- or as I found out was actually Diasomnia's dorm leader, Malleus-senpai, had asked me if I were interested in joining his society. "What society... exactly?"

"Gargoyle appreciation." he simply said with a smile. I wondered if there really was a club like that in Night Raven College, but... I didn't think he was that knowledgeable with gargoyles.

"You don't have a club yet, so I wondered if you would be interested in joining me." he told me.

I sheepishly chuckled, well it's true I don't have a club yet. I just felt that if I were in a club and did things for the headmaster it would just tire me out. "Well... Even without one, I'm still rather busy." I said truthfully.

He chuckled, probably knowing my 'job' in the school. "I see. That's rather unfortunate." he said, but I could tell that he was a bit disappointed for not being able to recruit me.

I let out a small smile and told him, "But... uhm. Whenever you're free, and when I'm free as well, you can always come over to Ramshackle and tell me about Gargoyles and maybe have some tea as well... Or I go to Diasomnia dorm and we can chat there." I added the last part sheepishly.

"Are you inviting me?"

I shrugged casually, "Yeah." I told him with a nod.

He seemed to have liked the idea of being invited as he had a small smile on his face. "Then... I look forward to it."

"Oh. Ruggie-senpai!" I called out the hyena-human hybrid when I saw him in the cafeteria.

"Oh, Yuu-kun~" he looked to my empty side and pointed out, "Hm? Where's Grim-kun?"

"He stayed behind in Trein-sensei's class with Ace and Deuce." I told him, "They got in trouble for sleeping."

Senpai snickered, "Serves them right to sleep in Trein-sensei's class." 

"Oh yeah, Yuu-kun." He said with a raised brow, as he noticed that I had my hands behind my back. "What are you hiding?" pointing at my back and started sniffing, "I smell... Are those doughnuts...?" he trailed off.

I smiled wryly, "I really can't go against that nose of yours, huh?"

"What do you think me for?"

I showed him a paper bag and said, "Here."

"Eh? It's for me?" He pointed at the bag then to himself.

I nodded, "Yeah." I gave him the bag and he opened them to look at the doughnuts.

"Wow! All these for me?" He asked once more, as if making sure I wasn't pulling a joke on him.

I chuckled and nodded, "Yeah. Those are all for you. I made those you know~"

"Eh?" he stopped admiring and pointedly stared at me.

"What?" I frowned, "I can bake!" I argued, "Well, I asked help from Trey-senpai..." I trailed off, "Besides that! It's for you and it's not that bad! Jack, Ace, Deuce and Grim even tasted them!"

"Hmmm~ Well, if you say so." he shrugged as he took one doughnut and took a bite of it. His eyes seem to have sparkled as he started finishing off the doughnut, "It's surprisingly good!"

"You... You're really not holding back in teasing me a bit, huh?"

"Thanks, Yuu-kun!" he ignored my comment as he happily thanked me, getting another doughnut, "But, why'd you give me doughnuts?"

"Eh? Ah." I froze at how I mixed up the sequence, "Happy Birthday!"

"Eh?"

"..."

"You really messed up the sequence!" he started laughing at my mistake, "You're supposed to greet me as you gave me these!"

"Shut up!" I pouted as I let him laugh it off. 

He soon calmed down as he gave me a doughnut, "But thanks, Yuu-kun." he grinned.

I took the doughnut and he raised his as if it's a glass. I smiled as I tapped my doughnut in his as we said, "Cheers." and we ate the doughnuts together.

"Hey senpai..." I called Ruggie-senpai out as he finished taking out Leona-senpai's laundry. 

"What?"

"You're really got at housework, huh? Laundry, cooking..." I listed as I counted with my fingers, "Why are you doing all of them?"

He looked at me with a raised eyebrow as if I didn't know the obvious, "Huh?"

"Why are you doing all this work for Leona-senpai?" I expounded.

He shrugged, "Why do you ask?"

"Curious."

"Why don't you stop asking and start helping me out." he said as he handed me a broom.

"Eh~"

"Stop complaining." 

"Okay~" I said as I started sweeping the floor.

Then I suddenly thought of something. "Ah."

"What?"

"Housewife."

"Huh? Who?"

I pointed at him with a small smile, "You."

"..."

"..."

"HA?!" he screamed, "WHY IN THE WORLD DID YOU THINK OF THAT?!"

"You're good at cooking, laundry..." I listed the same thing I said earlier, "You even go out and wake Leona--" I dodged the cleaning cloth he threw at me.

"Not another word, Yuu-kun."

"But--" I raised my hands up as Ruggie pointed his magic pen at me, "I'll shut up."

He didn't budge and still continued to point his pen at me, "Really?"

I nodded.

He slowly lowered his magic pen and put it back in his pocket as I let out a sigh of relief and lowered my hands.

"Housewife." I muttered, before getting drenched by Ruggie-senpai's water magic.

"I'm still surprised that he's part of the Magift club..." Grim spoke up as we watched the Magift club's morning practice, particularly Pomefiore's first year, Epel. It was a rare chance we got early, so we thought of visiting Savanaclaw and watch their morning practice.

"Epel?" I asked, as I scanned the field to find the boy. "Why so surprised?"

A snicker came from behind us, "All of us were pretty shocked when he came and asked to join." Ruggie-senpai told us, "I mean, a member of the Pomefiore, known for pretty boys? A shocker."

"Well, there are people from that dorm who represent Pomefiore in the tournament, right?" I asked. It's not weird for him to join the club if there are other members who play the sport anyways.

"Their dorm leader came and got upset, you know," Leona-senpai told us with a sigh. He probably thought it was troublesome for Vil-senpai to come up to him and complain about Epel's admission to the club, and to come home all dirty.

"Ah..." I sheepishly chuckled. Well... I can see why Vil-senpai would get upset... Playing Magift with the members of the club who are mostly from Savanaclaw? Pretty rough.

But... 

I looked at Epel, having fun playing with the rest of the club members despite having fallen on the ground a few times, being sweaty after playing for hours and basically playing up against mostly animal-human hybrids of Savanaclaw. I smiled.

"Pretty."

"Eh?" Ruggie-senpai and Grim looked at me as I blinked and straightened up as I was surprised at what I had muttered out.

"Did you say something, Yuu?" Grim asked me as I shook my head, "Nothing, nothing!" I told him sheepishly as I looked away from Ruggie-senpai's knowing smirk and frowned when I heard Leona-senpai snort. 

The practice match finished and Epel's team won. Despite the tiring game, he had a huge smile on his face.

I smiled.
