Folk Horror Toile
I love Pinterest but sometimes it gets way too stimulating to focus on one idea at a time. I'll be using this blog as a visual reference guide for my next art projects. I'm working on a denim project with a toile pattern as my reference.
I was given the incredible opportunity to create an installation for Guamâs largest edm event, Electric Island Festival. The final piece was called âMomâs Spaghettiââ a bunch of strings inviting people into one space much like a homemade spaghetti dinner brings the family together.
Iâd never done anything like this before so it was a bit of a challenge when construction began. Luckily I had some of the most talented artist, craftsmen and builder friends to help me execute.
This was the second drop of âgreLLâ but I set out to cement greLL as its own concept within the Long Live brand. I wanted greLL to have its own identity and represent the type of girl who wears Long Live but speak to her taste and experiences directly.
This was also my first foray into sourcing. The original partners of Long Live did the sourcing and we were limited to tees, hoodies, shorts and hats a lot of the time. I wanted something more fun and different so I researched vendors then created these Terry lounge sets. My favorite item from this drop was the GuasÄli scarf.
Local vintage shop, Good Lookin Out, invited me to creative direct a shoot with complete freedom. I shot most of the video footage, edited this short, and styled each outfit. Photography was by my frequent collaborator & friend, Jeremiah Iglesias.
A lot of the clothing at GLO is menswear so my goal was to style their pieces in ways that appeal to women.
Long Live often used logos that were edgier or harder in concept so I designed this âNoodleâ logo to lighten things up.

For the first iteration of greLL at Long Live, I took over the store and created an immersive art experience. My concept was to throw people in a hyper pink kawaii fantasy land.
After helping the Long Live brand for 4 years I pitched that we make a womenâs collection. Thus, âgreLLâ was born. Although this first iteration was only in capsule title as âgreLLâ and we hadnât designed it as itâs own branch of long live yet.

Iâm a lead coordinator for the POW! WOW! Guam mural festival. I assisted in most logistic and planning activities for the 2017 & 2019 shows. The experience of coordinating such a large scale event and working next to some of the most talented artists was both humbling and exciting.
Weâre hoping to have our next one by next year.
This was the first time Long Live gave me full creative control over designing so I created a small capsule collection for Halloween. The concept was based on Goosebumps. I art directed the designs, styled the model, and conceptualized the look of the shoot.
Photography was by Jeremiah Iglesias and the designs were executed by Joshua Agerstrand.
In addition to my other duties with GAX, I led the creation of GAXâs installation rooms for the 2018 & 2019 shows. I created the themes and directed artists and volunteers to create an immersive space.
The photos I included are from the 2019 show. We were operating on an extremely small budget to fill up a large room so we relied heavily on recycled materials. The brown structure in the second photo is a cave made of recycled cardboard that was hand cut and puzzle pieced together for several weeks. I saw the concept from some architecture students online and thought we could easily do that too.
It certainly wasnât easy but we made it happen.
I helped conceptualize this shoot for the grand opening of Long Live Clothing Co.âs first store. Jeremiah Iglesias shot the photos, I directed the models and helped design the mood.
This is a shoot I helped conceptualize with the Long Live Clothing Co. team. Whenever I help new clothing photoshoots, I create a story or movie in my head to guide everything. The idea is to create a fantasy realm where the clothes are actually worn in these charactersâ lives instead of presenting them as objects to the customer.
The story behind this shoot was a hopeful hero and unrequited love. The concept was heavily inspired by Wong Kar-waiâs movies. Our photographer Jeremiah Iglesias did an amazing job at referencing Wong Kar-waiâs lighting and moody compositions.
I served as a coordinator for the Guam Art Exhibit for 4 shows beginning in 2016. At first I helped organize art submissions, gallery preparation, and event logistics. But as time went on I also assisted with curation.
