I think one of the things that definitely sways how these polls go is just the size and visibility of the fanbase here on the Website, and I'm not really sure of the scale as regards Takarazuka vs Horrible Histories - but hey, you never know, we could have seen some very different results out here!

gonna slip in some propaganda of my favorite book!hornblower moments, knowing full well that i have likely forgotten some and may have not gotten to others yet:

- trying to challenge a superior officer to a duel on account of the superior interfering with his previously attempted duel

- once said that when (when, not if) he goes to hell, his punishment is going to be having to play whist with bad players

- never forget the time he just straight up showers on deck. this is not the only time he's out there being naked

- thinks about all the blood he's cleaned from his sword after it's used to cut his wedding cake

- instinctively grabs a shell that has fallen on deck and puts out the fuse with his mitten hands. gets very angry when people try to praise him for it

- upon realizing he put his pants on before his stockings he first tries to roll the pants legs up but they're too tight and won't get past his knee so he has the tops of the stockings chopped off

and generally speaking. he's seasick. he's one of the best officers in the navy. he overanalyzes and is self-conscious about everything he's ever done. he doesn't want to be seen as having emotions ever. god help you if you try to praise this man or be kind to him but he cares about his ships and crews even if he's unlikely to show it
