Many of you have asked what the parties are promising LGBTQ Canadians. Issues of same-sex marriage, the blood donation ban and Pride parades have been hot topics in this election. Here's where the parties stand and what they're committing to.
Every child matters
For those who are unaware of what this post is about, it's for Orange Shirt Day. It is a Candian holiday held on September 30th. People wear orange shirts on this day to honor the children who survived Canada's atrocious Residential Schools system and to remember the children who did not survive it. Please take the time today to honor the many Natives, First Nations people, and other indigenous people whom this system has affected; they deserve to be remembered ✊🏽
The only way we can help
Guys! They also have a shop where you can buy t-shirts that provide them money for planting the trees in Brazil!
Also each t-shirt you buy is 20 planted trees! Check out their shop!!
Please reblog this, they need as much help as they can get.
I finally got this comic uploaded! I worked on the script for over a year, so it’s awesome to finally get to draw the pages and bring the story to life!
READ HERE!
If you love robots, Sonic that doesn’t look like the live action movie. and existential questions, please check it out!
I’m almost done the first few pages of Heart of The Hedgehog! I already have the whole script done and the first chapter sketched out.
When I’m done the first five pages and cover art, I’ll post it on Tapastic!
This is what I’ve been working on in place of Maritime Mayhem. Please check it out, if you like Sonic!
It’s my first multi-chapter continuous story. If it goes well, I might make MariMay have some continuous strips, like the History of Acadia strips!
Hey, an update! This doesn't mean that I’m back for good. A blizzard happened two weeks ago and I got this idea. I’ve been sick, so I had to wait until today to draw it, because I’m feeling a little better. Cailleach Beira is a (general) Celtic Goddess of Winter. Jack Frost is a being of snow in the West. The Ice King is a god of Winter in Mi’kmaq lore. I should mention that they usually don’t look this screwed up and crazy (except for Beira), but that’s what I made them look like under the effects of Climate Change. Hiya! I’m back on Tumblr to again talk about the resource and server that is Personified Canada As many know, the amount of Personified Canadian characters has been shrinking and now sort of dwindles, so in this time I thought it would be a good idea to attempt to bridge gaps, and grow a community as there are few of us and it can be hard to do what you are passionate about with little support, so a place where you can be supported by people who love to do the same thing you do as well as meet people similar to you could be the spark that helps us continue and flourish as a niche community Also, for y’all Americans out there, we know there’s a huge influx of Americans looking to make Canadian OCs which is amazing! We love the fact that you’re showing interest in our country and to help avoid any accidental misrepresentation, to help point to an abundance of resources, or even to simply give you advice as someone who has personally lived or have visited the area is what we want to do. We know it can be hard to create an OC when you are struggling to get the general vibes. Also, we just want to see people being happy with Canadian ocs and for people to join our small community! So yeah, thank you for reading this if you are and I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d join or share this link with someone you know that would be interested! https://discord.gg/9NXxpQA
I’ll be on here. Maybe it can help with motivation and ideas!
Some News for MariMay
Stuff that’s still taking my attention from comics:
I had to move back with family since I couldn’t get a job in the city. I’m going to take a course in May to help me get one. I’m also looking into surgery and medication for some things. Unfortunately, I’m in a small town, so I need to travel to meet with professionals and I’m mostly cut off from certain help that I could only get in the cities.
I’ve been getting into fandoms on Discord servers. It’s been helping me with my creativity and mental help to some extent.
I simply don’t have motivation for MariMay. I need to get a job and this doesn’t pay. I don’t even feel like I’m building anything from it, which was something I wanted to do with my comics. I know it takes time to build an audience and income online, but it’s just taking too long.
I feel like there isn’t much of a premise with MariMay currently. I don’t know if I already mentioned, but the original premise for it was making comics about how cool, funny, and weird my home region is. I think that could work in a general sense, but I need something more specific. I don’t mind hearing other’s feedback on it.
I’ll still make sure to draw the historical comics when the time comes. There will be one in May because that’s Nova Scotia Gaelic Month. There’s summertime, where I’ll continue the Old Acadia arc and maybe another miscellanious historical comic, and October, where I always try to do something for Halloween! I also have an old ask still in the inbow which I want to make a comic based off of. I liked
As for what I’m currently up to, I’ve been a little more active in the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom, specifically The Murder of Me fancomic by GiGi-D. I’ve also been rewriting a story from the Archie Sonic comics. I’m finalizing the script and sketching out the comic pages (at least 80 pages total!). I plan to fully return to MariMay when that’s done.
Thank you for following this comic so far. I have a couple of plans and I hope to come back to Maritime Mayhem before the end of this year. It there is anyone interested in my art and sonic, check out my Sonic side blog:

To everybody: How will you be spending Christmas?
Nova Scotia: partying. Aaaaaaaaaaall winter long!
NB and Acadia: quiet day with food and video games.
Annapolis, Breton, Mi’kmaq, and PEI: Netflix and chill.
Canada and America: a week with gifts, food, and weed.
Mine: Overwatch, food, and drawing. Bought something for myself, but overall avoided gift-giving.
Thanks for the question and happy holidays!
As a genderqueer, I always wanted to express my identity through some of my works, especially after I found out Rebecca Sugar is Enby and Steven Universe is how she expresses her identity! Also, I couldn’t always figure out the gender of some avatars, so making them a different sex altogether really helps with focusing on their character! I’ll see if I can continue these notes about MariMay nation lore.
Just opened up shop on spreadshirt with colouful crescent moon designs! Items sold are bags, cups, travel mugs, hoodies, sweaters, shirts, mouse pads, and so much more! If you or someone you know loves stained glass, geometric art, or astrology, then this shop is a must see.

I present Maritime Mayhem’s United States of America. Or MariMay States for short.
Sporadic Releases
Despite the fact that I have some material for the comics - like the whole legal weed thing - I don’t have the time. I don’t just sit down for one day to draw. It takes me anywhere from 2 to all 7 days of the week to make a comic, due to time for research, planning, and motivation. I have mental, physical, and employment issues to deal with.
In terms of that, this summer I went to mental health services and one of the disorders I was diagnosed with was Schizoid. This affects my ability to want, find, and keep employment. I’ve quit jobs in the past because I either get long term burn out, due to lots of socializing, or I get bored, because it’s so repetitive!
I have looked up possible independent jobs on the internet, but I need time to focus on them to become financially independent and stable. So, semi-hiatus. We’ll see what happens in December.
I’m thinking about updating on Mondays instead. I find that by Sunday I don’t want to do anything involving any kind of work or deadline, because I’ve been doing that all week. I find that if I can spend one day completely goofing off, then I’m good for the weekdays.
I did say I wanted to make a comic about NB post-provincial election. Here’s a comparison between Ontario and New Brunswick.
Ontario: Consevatives led by Doug Ford won a mjority government with 41% popular vote and 58% of voter turnout. This is considered one of the highest turnouts in a decade.
New Brunswick: Minority government, with Liberal leader Brian Gallent still in office and voter turnout at 65-67%. This is considered one of the lowest voter turnouts in a decade.
EDIT: I heard that Conservative leader Higgs is taking over. Meh.
Like a good percentage of fellow brunswickers, I voted for a third party. Even though the Liberals did offer some good stuff - minimum wage increase and Youth Employmeny Fund, which is helping me get a career - I don’t want to vote for mud-slingers. Anyone else is free to state their own opinions on the provincial elections.
