Meiling and Ren first met when they were paired to fight in their first preliminary match. Silva oversaw their battle, wary of both of them as he found them both to be extremely dangerous. (Ren because he had killed Chrom, Meiling because she comes from a long line of shamans who shared Hao's beliefs to destroy humanity and aided him.) After a long fight that left them both with a lot of questions and injuries, Meiling was declared the winner, as Ren ran out of furyoku.
A deep, dark resentment formed within him and he planned to finish her off and take her spirits just like with Yoh. After a misterious incident, they became unexpected allies, and became a bit less hostile after Yoh befriended Ren and changed his views on the world. The rest is a spoiler and will be revealed as the Paradise Lotus story is revealed!. ą½ą½²ą½ą¾āāæļøµ ā§Ėā

Their meeting after so long wasn't the soft, happy moment anyone could be expected. At the time, Tsukiko was under a lot of pressure, just got into a beef with Marco to later watch Hao being 'flirty' with Anna. The girl can be chill most of the time, but she's like a fire when she's mad.
Last year, I finally watched Shaman King (2021). Things happened. This is my pink moon themes girl Tsukiko! <3 I drew this based on some official manga arts, btw.
I love the original shaman king anime. I should focus more on it. Meiling looks so good in the style and I love being able to draw MeiRen like I always envisioned it growing up. š„°
