Greeattt…he couldn’t find Stefan anywhere, and he thought going to the apothecary would be the best place to find him. Hearing her say hello a bit too loudly made him wince a bit. “Hello there,” Valentin said in his pleasant tone, not wanting to sound jumpy or anything, since he felt himself going to that line again, dancing near the edge. “I’m wondering if you can help me find someone…”

Seeing the wince he made she swallowed thickly, frowning “Sorry.” She said to that, feeling bad for startling him. Stepping out from behind the counter, Maria slipped her phone into her pocket before she walked over to him, crossing her arms “Um, I’m not sure who you could be looking for here since it’s mostly my brother and me, but sure. Who’re you looking for?”

Stefan: Belle will probably love it if you got a dog

Stefan: Not all of them, start with one for gods sake

Maria: So definitely all of them?

Maria: Definitely all of them.

Maria: Belle loves everything I do so that wouldn't be hard to do.

Maria: But I have been wanting to get a pet for a while.

Reid was running a bit late to work, which wasn’t really unusual for him. He could almost hear Stefan’s voice in his head lecturing him when he arrived past his scheduled time with not even an excuse to get him out of it. The bell above him rang when he walked in, announcing his arrival, and with a quick glance around the shop he could almost breathe a sigh of relief when he didn’t see the male behind the counter but instead, saw his sister. “It’s just me,” he said once she greeted him. “Wow, I rushed here for this?” Reid stated, obviously fibbing. He never rushed to work. Ever. “Has it been like this all day?”

Seeing the familiar face walk into the store, Maria felt a little rush of excitement, mostly because this means she didn’t have to be here all by herself anymore. “You could have texted me that you were running behind so I could have clocked you in.” She smiled, stepping out from behind the counter as she slipped her phone in her pocket, laughing a little at his lie as she knew full well he wasn’t one to hurry into work “I, yeah, pretty much. I was thinking about seeing if Stefan would be okay with closing early today.”

Maria: I got to pet two dogs!

Maria: Can we adopt them

Maria: Or better yet

Maria watched the door to the apothecary. It had been silent, dead, for a couple hours now and she just wanted something to do. Having already cleaned literally everything, counted the money, taken inventory, everything, she was getting antsy. Why didn’t she bring something to do? She knew Stefan had told her if it wasn’t busy she could always close early but the stubborn part of her never wanted to. With a sigh her focus turned to her phone, leaning against the counter and playing a game until she heard the door. Slipping her phone in her jeans pocket she jumped up straight, paying attention to who had just walked in “Hello!” Maria said, aybe a bit too loudly.

A scavenger hunt seemed right up Alex’s alley and she was excited to participate in another town event despite how poorly a previous one had gone. She’d gotten her scavenger hunt list and had found the first bar and was presented with her shot. Hesitant at first she finally muttered, “what the hell.” Knocking it back she looked down at the list and then over to the person next to her. “Where the devil likes to take his dinner?” She read it allowed. “Hell Kitchen, ya think?”

“That sounds like it was too easy, but I’m not going to say that you’re wrong.” Maria shrugged, looking at the woman next to her. “You would think they would try a little harder though.”

“Has anyone seen my brother and my niece- please, I don’t know where they are.” Maria was looking around frantically, tearing through the crowd of people, clearly panicking. The fog- the terrible, terrible fog that had made her relive her past and her parents, finally gone, but her brother. She didn’t know what it had done to him but she needed to find him now. “Please, anyone.”

“I feel so upstaged.” It’s not an admonition of intimidation. More so he’s widely impressed with the majority of the costumes around him. While he was clad in his full pink rabbit onesie, a small part of him felt as if he’d taken the easy way out by not turning it into some form of zombie. “Dude. Everyone looks so good,” he awed to the person next to him, grin set wide across his face as he tipped the end of a beer bottle to his lips. “Check that one out. I can’t even imagin’ how long it took ‘em to get all that makeup on.”

“People really go hardcore for Halloween.” Maria replied, glancing at the guy next to her who was speaking. “I’m surprised some people put as much effort as they do when they’re just going to get drunk- every time I’ve done that it just ends up ruined one way or another.” She looked forward at the people walking past, taking a big sip of her drink.
