a/n ignore spelling mistakes, i wrote this for fun also i disappeared for like 4 months oops.

ALSO TW//DEATH towards the end, so if you’re not comfortable with reading that i suggest you skip this little drabble <3 it’s very very cheesy but it gets a little sadder towards the end (it’s also really messy cause i got tired of writing by the end LMFAO)

“You’re my star”. You would never forget these words. The words that Jaehyun said to you when you two first kissed. The words that got you through all your toughest times, when Jaehyun was busy being an idol, when you had to get through your finals and into law school, when you struggled with yourself when you contemplated leaving it all behind. It got you through the uncertain times, almost everyone in your life leaving you, when all you wanted to do was crawl up and sleep forever. Jaehyun was the only constant in your life; he was your light in the darkest tunnel, someone you could always look up to.

You two have many memories together, starting from your second year in university. You had accompanied your little cousin to a concert, although you did not know who was performing. Honestly, you only went to make your cousin happy, but it was a pretty good concert nevertheless. You also ended up getting backstage passes and you were looking around waiting for your cousin to finish her conversation with whoever she was talking to. Your eyes caught a guy wearing all black and you were immediately hooked on him; he looked like he worked backstage as well. You had nothing to lose and introduced yourself to him. He gave you a dimply smile back. Oh, you were infatuated. You tried your best to hold it back to not scare him away, but you couldn’t help it; you were going back to Toronto next week after all. This was your last chance or you would never see this handsome stranger again. Looking back, you were surprised that he accepted your offer of exchange numbers, considering he’s an idol, but you were glad Jeong Jaehyun accepted nevertheless.

The misunderstanding blossomed into a beautiful relationship and everything between you two only got better and stronger with every obstacle you and every story you two made. With him, it was all love and acceptance. With him, you never felt the effects of the ugly word. Lying under the stars one day, he said the magical sentence.

“You’re my star.”

You carried this phrase with you all through your years in university, and law school, through when all else in your life seemed unstable. He was your stability, the one aspect of life that you never doubted. You knew he would be right by your side, never failing to help you when you needed it.

And Jaehyun knew it too. You were his star, shining in the dark of the night, where everything was uncertain. He saw the night sky in your eyes, full of uncertainty, but the stars shone brighter. He knew you would be by his side even when he was miles from you. He was forever grateful for the unwavering support you showed in him following his dreams. He was a star in the eyes of the public, one of the most adored figures in the modern acting and singing industry, but to Jaehyun, you were the one that shone the brightest.

He too was taken then the moment he laid eyes on you. The way your eyes sparkled as you made you way across the room to him, he had to remind himself to keep his composure; she was probably just a fan with a backstage pass, after all. Yet, when you asked for his number, Jaehyun couldn’t stop himself. The way you talked to him, he could tell that you didn’t put him on the pedestal everyone else did. In hindsight, it was because you assumed he was a staff member, and you and Jaehyun laugh about it every now and then. Laying on the grass that fateful day, he couldn’t express how beautiful you looked. No words in the world could describe how happy and carefree you made him feel. The moonlight lit up your face and you were busy looking into the night sky. Jaehyun, following your line of sight, looked into the midnight sky that was littered with more stars than grains of sand on a beach. Jaehyun looked back at you.

“You’re my star.”

He rolled over closer to you and right there under the stars, he kissed you. You tugged him closer and when he finally pulled back, both of your hearts danced for each other.

It was something he said a thousand more times and you were always there to giggle shyly at him every time and Jaehyun was brought back to the night of your first kiss every time.

He said it again tonight, kneeling in front of you. Except for this time, there were no giggles and kisses involved. Tears rolled down Jaehyun's cheeks as he looked up, wanting to see your sparkling eyes but instead being met with the nighttime stars that seemed dim in comparison. He would do anything to be able to see you smile again, for you to hold his hand again. He wished upon every shooting star he saw. Yet, as he brought his eyes down, you were resting peacefully beneath the ground, unable to console his heart. His heart ached for himself and he knelt in front of your grave, not knowing what to do. You were back where you had been made from, back as one of the stars, and, as Jaehyun sat under the moonlight, he knew that the star that shone the brightest was you, looking after him. There you were, shining eternally in the night sky, his star.

I’ve been watching Bad And Crazy and I cannot unsee how Jaehyun could definitely play the Ryu Su-yeol. Instead of having an alter ego, Jaehyun is more than capable of channeling his anger all by himself, thank you very much. My first angst plus kinda full on suggestive fic, go easy on me.

Grunts and groans emit from Jaehyun as he goes through documents from his recent cases. He tilts his head from left to right to relieve some of the pressure and stiffness from his hunched posture, and releases another groan when a particular motion signals a loud creaking sound. Enough is enough, he thinks, so he stands and goes to the station’s pantry to get more water.

Detective Jaehyun rose through the ranks pretty quickly since graduating from the police academy. Strategic, smart, charismatic, and blessed with good looks and prominent family background, his only flaw is found in having somewhat gray areas in how he does his job. He doesn’t fall under being dirty cops, but he does have some ways of doing his work that might deem him vague and at times, quite suspicious for a servant of the law. Nonetheless, his methods yield results, bringing pride to his precinct and to the police force as a whole.

Soon to be Inspector Jaehyun practically has it all going for him.

You saw mark coming late from the practice in the dark room of yours. It's been weeks since he visited you in your place that night, finally, despite his tight and busy schedule. Approaching you with his sling bag, his face is slightly covered with the cap he is wearing and his eyes hooded behind the black framed glasses you gave him for his birthday last year. He still manage to give a soft yet tired smile while he reach his arms to give you the warmest hug. "Hi baby. I miss you so much.." you didn't give him an answer. You just smile with your eyes shut.

Mark is being clingy. It's his habit. If he's too tired he usually became more affectionate and cuddly to you, showering you with kisses and hugs, never let his arms leave from your torso while his face is warmly snuggling on your chest or back. And tonight, he haven't seen you in a while therefore he need to deliver his longing for you, to touch and feel you.

Mark started to cup your cheeks with his hands and look at you in the eyes, the things he always do before he become more intimate with you. And all you have to do is smile and giving him the most loving eyes you could do for him, and he knows the answer. His slightly parted lip hovering over yours before savoring you sweetly. You open your mouth and he tilted his head to deepen the kiss while his hand rested on your jaw and his other is on the back of your head. You feel content when his lip reach yours and his tongue do wonders in your mouth. He always tasted sweet. Very sweet. You missed him. You always do.

He started reaching down, kissing your neck and collarbone, hands snaking all over you body until he caresses your thigh, making you moan and shiver. It's silent for a whole seconds. Mark felt his heart dropped from his chest to his stomach. He feels like someone just slap him really hard on the face at your nonsense. He nor you might not know that you're feeling the same as mark do. But you just can't anymore.

"You're joking" you know it's not a question. But when you didn't respond he started to stroke his hair back and let go a harsh sigh, frustrated.

"Y/n..." he called again.

"...I'm not-" you almost choke on your saliva, trying so fucking hard to swallowing back your tears.

Moment of silence before he let out another long, heavy sigh for the night.

"Y/n... please..." you heard his voice shaking. His head droop while he squeezed on your hands tightly. He's too tired to argue. Too devastated to sputter some other words.

"I can't, mark. Please..." the words that came out from you made him drop his head completely and his forehead landed heavily on your shoulder.

You felt a drop dripping on your hand and the room suddenly filled with soft sniffles. He's crying. Mark is crying.

You make the boy you loved the most cry. All is because of you.

You know you're being selfish. The most stupid thing you ever did in your entire life actually. You love him, but you waited him for too long. Someone who didn't always be there for you can't reassure you though you know his feeling is there, or the same. You need more. You need more of his accompany and presence everyday, but he can't do that. You also would never wanted to restrain him. You loved him for everything he does, his job, his dreams. And he just can't leave you. Not when he's just so in love with you.

But the way he's there with you tonight, is all what you need from him for the last time before you leave him for good.

Oscar, The Cat that Predicts Death

Oscar has been working at Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Centerin Providence, RI for the past decade or so. In 2005 Oscar was brought to Steere House to serve as a therapy cat in hopes that he would help cheer up the residents at Steere. He was descirbed as generally aloof and “not a cat that’s friendly to people”, sometimes hissing at people when he wanted to be left alone. 

He generally kept to himself and would often be found hiding under beds or in the storage closet, except when someone was close to death.

After about 6 months of Oscar being at Steere, the staff noticed that Oscar would choose to cuddle up/nap next to residents who died just hours after his visit. 

Joan Teno, a physician at Steere House, clarified that “it’s not that the cat is consistently there first. But the cat always does manage to make an appearance, and it always seems to be in the last two hours.“ 

 After Oscar accurately predicted 25 deaths, staff started calling family members of residents as soon as they discovered him sleeping next to someone in order to notify them and give them an opportunity to say goodbye before the impending death.  As of 2015, it was noted that Oscar had predicted over 100 deaths.

Oscar is so good at what he does that Dr. David Dosa, a health researcher at Brown University and a geriatrician working with patients at the Steere House, actually wrote an entire book( Making Rounds with Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat )about it.

While there is no concrete explanation as to how Oscar predicts these deaths, one theory is that Oscar is picking up on the lack of movement in such patients or that he can smell biochemicals released by dying cells.
