Midnight Oil says: Mark Moldre "Where Will I Be" - unsung Australian talent
Great times at The Glass Onion Society this afternoon with Kris Morris, Adam Lang, Sarah Humphreys and Trent Crawford. Felt like I'd dropped into a scene of O Brother, Where Art Thou? Let's do it again soon....
My interview with Norway's Famous Last Words Records - FLW is now online. Hear me wax lyrical about An Ear To The Earth, cigar box guitars, recording straight to tape, my Woody Allen song and the Jamie Hutchings curse with musical equipment. (You may need a hot beverage - I have the tendency to ramble)

Banjo. Lap Slide. Guitar. Banjo. Bass. Xylophone. Suitcase Drums. Mandolin. Theremin. That's the short list of some of the instruments that Adam Lang has played whilst sitting by my side at shows over the years. He's been playing instruments by my side for so long now I can't imagine anyone else filling the chair. Kinda like Kirk without Spock - it's just ain't right.
Rosetta and Swart
Thanks to the appreciative crowd at Lizotte's Newcastle last night. We had a ball onstage and meeting Dom Turner, Broderick Smith and Rob Hirst was a musical career highlight for me. Absolute gents all round. Here's my old acoustic onstage next to Rob's kit.

We have quite a few Swart fans down in Australia and New Zealand and it's always great to hear the latest, especially from one of our favorites, Mark Moldre, who is also either laying down some tracks or out on the road. Mark's a big fan of the AST Pro and has used it on practically everything with strings, both on stage and in recording. Check out his latest video from his last album, this shot in one of his childhood homes that happened to be in perfect state for "Everything I Need." ~ kh

Everything I Need Is Here Live At The Green Room Enmore
Four of the Central Coast's most talented folksters will take the Lizottes stage together for one special night - playing a mix of their own material and sharing a few favourite covers. Mark Moldre, Mike McCarthy, Kris Morris and Adam Lang are now stalwarts of the Central Coast music scene. All of these gents have had success with their various projects and releases over the past few years - and pooled together they've worked with the who's who of Australian music scene - but never have they all banded together to create their very own Travelling Wilbury's style ensemble. With a huge swag of material to choose from covering folk, bluegrass and blues this will surely be a night not to be missed. Prepare to see a stage overrun with banjos, mandolins, acoustic guitars, resonators, lap slides and beards.
