Flier I made for a show I put together back in April
AMV I put together for “Death’s Grip” by QUITTER
fuckyouquitter.bandcamp.com
New Quitter cassingle is out now and available at shows. Two actual songs and two abstract noise tracks all recorded, mixed, and dubbed in the last month--we never do anything this fast.
Listen/purchase: UGLY SEED / C.S.C. by QUITTER
Cool punk show I put together from the excellent FAD from Birmingham. All the locals just started up this year.

4 track album
Next 7" lined up on Blow Blood is QUITTER from Baltimore, MD. Synth-driven weirdo punk in the vein of Screamers meets too many b-grade 80’s mutant flicks. Slimey stuff!
First Quitter recordings on vinyl, out soon on Melbourne punk label BLOW BLOOD RECORDS.
Listen/purchase: l e a v i n g by Gutterhooks
The only recordings we ever made, finished yesterday on a whim.
Wildhoney - “Sleep Through It” (video by Tendrills)

Cool show that I have nothing to do with besides making this flyer! Romantic States are one of my favorite bands in the city and both Alter and Retired are side projects featuring members of my bands Quitter and Barbelith. FB event here.
I designed this flyer using processes that I developed several years ago when I was doing a lot of collage work: mashed up/modified wingdings, photo transfer on cardboard, cut-and-paste text. I didn’t have access to any of my usual materials when I made this, though, so I did my best digital approximation in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Well here's a weird thing: my solo tape is on Spotify now.
Barbelith’s Philly show next month
Great ambient/drone show coming up! Big thanks to the Bahamas for hosting since The Holy Underground is temporarily Wholly Underwater.

Two new fliers for some upcoming shows that I put together with my friend Hasan. Both of these will be really great! I'm especially excited about seeing Father Murphy, all the way from Italy!
After I graduated college I pretty much quit writing because I was burned out and didn't have workshops or classes to keep me on my game. In the last few months I've been writing a lot more--still not as much as I did in school, but definitely more than nothing--and on Sunday at the Crown I'll be reading a few sonnets and maybe a couple of limericks. There are six other great local writers reading their work as well: https://www.facebook.com/events/388981061267609
Free shows are the best shows. We're always stoked to play with our buds in Post Pink and Curse, and Scissor Now! (from Ann Arbor) is deeply weird and cool. Very much looking forward to this one: https://www.facebook.com/events/306667499540133/
I'm celebrating the release of my solo cassette tape, Embrace Technology, next Friday at The Holy Underground in support of Future Punx from NYC. Also playing are Nick Hope (Quitter synth player) and The Emmies (side project of Quitter drummer Li'l Bill/Knox, who also made this flyer). It's going to be a really sick show and I'm really looking forward to playing two new songs.

With a self-released EP and a 7” under their belt, Baltimore’s atmospheric black metal crew Barbelith are set to release their full-length debut, Mirror Unveiled in November on Grimoire Records. In anticipation of that, SfB is proud to stream this exclusive track debut from that record.
Steel for Brains rules, and today they are streaming a new track from Barbelith's upcoming full-length, Mirror Unveiled. This is the last song we wrote and recorded for the album and our most purely collaborative piece to date—I actually performed vocals on this one, which I had never done before in this band. It's a huge honor to be featured on a blog that I've always held up as the best in a crowded field. Thanks for listening.
