New Caretaker
Atem laughed a little. “Relax, there’s no need to be so serious.”
Bakura grunted next to him.
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t actually, everyone is so serious and I’m not sure why… Oh wait maybe it’s the way we look… I can put sunglasses on if it makes you uncomfortable. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that earlier.”
The nonchalant nature of the one speaking threw her off guard, and Amane took another step into the room and shut the door behind her. “N-no, you’re fine, believe me, I’ve seen worse.”
She shot the two what she hoped was a charming smile. “Laid-back it is, then.”
“Take a seat! My name’s Atem and this is my brother, Bakura. Mariku’s... sensitive. He didn’t want to be here, he was quite attached to the old caretaker, I do apologize for his absence.” “Why here?” Bakura mumbled, hiding behind his scarf. Atem was talking too much, it probably didn’t help anyone feel relaxed, so he just got to business.
