He cared not for Keiji’s warning, because even with the huge chances he would fail, history stacked against him, Dio was to try anyway. That’s simply how it was. There was nothing more weak than never trying at all because he was persuaded by another to give up. That wasn’t in his character to do so.

“Don’t act so righteous for just disagreeing with me. I can’t deny I hurt others for my own gain, but my gain in the long run is everyone’s gain.”

DIO’s words sounded so painfully recycled. Keiji had heard such a speech before. Multiple times from multiple people. Every time, the person speaking thought they were different. They thought they were unique... but their goals and motives remained the same.

“I’m not acting righteous, DIO... This is just how the cycle goes. I’ve seen people overcome impossible odds in the most desperate of times. No one reacts kindly to being backed in a corner, y’know? Violence and oppression is never the way.” The vagabond gave DIO a knowing look. His brown eyes soon became wide with worry.

“Plus, it’d just suck to see yet another friend shoot for the stars and come up short. Hard to recover after you crash back onto earth, right?”

We mistake sex for romance. Guys are taught that pushing a girl up against a wall is romance. Sex is easy; you can do it with anyone, yourself, with batteries. Romance is when someone you like walks into a room and they take your breath away. Romance is when two people are dancing and they fit together perfectly. Romance is when two people are walking next to each other and all of a sudden they find themselves holding hands, and they don’t know how that happened.
