Bilateral Stimulation in Wilderness Therapy: Treating Trauma, Grief, and Shame in Adolescent Boys

Through the process, EMDR is adapted to wilderness therapy with very good results. A student who had been extremely suicidal prior to entering treatment disclosed his shame related to his sexuality exclaiming “I’m good enough!” When asked, “good enough for what?”, he replied, “good enough to live!”

Summer at Makarios is like the neighborhood experience of a couple generations ago...kids hanging out with their friends all summer, exploring, playing, getting messy and having fun. It's also a great time to explore self-directed education! Session runs 6/19 to 8/2, every T/W/Th, 9am to 5pm.
