@martyredangel
I love that this film touches on things that most won't say outloud. Sometimes, trauma breaks someone to the point of destruction. There isn't always a way back or a cathartic resolution. This fascinates and terrifies me in equal measure.
I feel like this movie is the visual companion to The Cure's Pornography album.
sorry if someones already done this
I had a really vivid dream last night that I was Lucie Jurin and I lived with Anna in an isolated house in the countryside. Instead of the revenge plot of Martyrs, Lucie chose to live with Anna and try to live a normal life. Lucie would stay in the house and take care of the land by planting vegetables and cooking while Anna worked and drove the car to the city every now and again to get supplies. We lived a really simple life and it was enough, but something was always in the back of my mind and I couldn't move on. One day the cult broke into our house and tried to kill both of us, and I can only remember visceral images rather than details. But it felt so REAL...
this film has imprinted on my mind like nothing else ever has, and it's not even the first dream I have experienced where I was specifically in the role of Lucie

saw (2004) original script
there is something so entertaining to me in thinking about how nathan wallace is gen alpha. he was canonically born 2016 and would be 10 years old today, meaning he grew up with the pandemic and brainrot and tiktok and the current indie animation scene. insane to me actually
From the stage script from 2003-ish
