i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! disect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!

A great piece of advice I've seen is "Don't fixate about what the character would never do. Think about the circumstances that would drive them to do this, even if they wouldn't normally."

Help me come up with a ship name?

Saw someone else doing this with their oc, and realized that after all this time, all these thousands of words I've written about them, and I don't have a ship name for Caine x Buzzy

Buzzy (she/they pronouns) is a computer programmer who lands in the circus after Gangle and before Zooble. She's deep into autistic burnout when she arrives, so the escapism of the circus is like a dream to her. They put a lot of pressure on themself to live up to other's expectations, so they understand Caine a lot, and the computer science background certainly helps as well. She has a sweet tooth and particularly loves fantasy themed adventures, though she did once have dreams of being an astrophysicist and going to the international space station.

I cannot for the life of me think of what the ship name would be. BeesTeeth? Toothbee?? Nothing I'm coming up with feels right and I'd love to give them a proper ship name.

Well, since no one is talking about it yet, - or I haven’t seen it, - here are a few of my ideas! ^v^

BeeTime - Inspired by the name of the Showtime ship with Pomni and Caine, and the fact that Pomni is referred to as "Funny" in other ships, and for some reason Fantime popped into my head when I forgot what their ship was exactly called, so... yeah, I had a weird association.

I guess this title could have been explained better, but that's roughly what I thought when I came up with the name. lol xD

AstroBee - based on Buzzy's fascination with space and Caine's love of bees. 🌠🐝

BeeTooth - speaks for itself xD

DoubleBee - I mean, Buzzy looks like a bee, while Caine acts like a bee (or is associated with a bee), so we have two bees! 🐝🐝

HoneyBee - This just came to mind based on a previous thought, but in the sense that Buzzy can "give" Caine the honey he needs. Or something like that. + It matches the titles of "Honey, I'm Home!" and "Bee to Honey" :³

That's all that came to my mind about it! :D‎

I printed out a lot of the fanart I have received (and made) of Buzzy and put it up on a couple cork boards by my desk in the home office. It is such a blessing to have people make art of her! I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have such amazing readers ^_^

The boards are actually hexagonal and I wanted them to look like honeycomb... But they got so covered up you can't really see that! But what a wonderful problem to have, right??

some misc caine art i've made while working on bigger projects

this is based off that one moment in the void scene where his prototype form creates a hand! wanted to imagine what it'd look like now if he suddenly had to go from a dot to his current model!

and admittedly i've become a little fascinated with the concept of caine in his first few years after escaping the box and creating the circus, caine was probably so much worse at first if almost every dev member abstracting is anything to go by

bonus seepy caine propaganda because i think after 21 years of working non-stop, day after day, he too deserves a big fucking nap, you mean to tell me this computer/program has been running since the 90s without ever restarting??? fucking hell!
