In Donkey Kong Bananza, it is possible to "kill" NPCs, even unique important NPCs such as Grumpy Kong, by continuously attaching chunks of dirt to each other to push the NPC toward a hazard such as lava, poison, or a pit. The NPC will then disintegrate into dust as seen in the footage.

The NPC will respawn whenever the area is reloaded with the terrain cleaned up, either by cleaning it manually, resetting it through the map menu, or saving and reloading the game.
