“I’ll be killing that fuck and draggin his femur so I can crack your skull open with it! How’s that sound eh? I least I fucking hell did somethin instead a looking like a target!” He turned back to look at Macy, face reddened with anger. His last gesture to the magician was a sole finger raised to sky, carrying with it every word he’d grown tired of repeating.

That was the final straw.

"Oh no, oh NO. YOU DO NOT THREATEN RAZENOK. DO YOU HEAR ME??" Macy nearly exploded. Razenok could fend for himself, and probably teach this pirate a lesson, but he wasn't going to let Steelheart talk about him in that way. "You say you'd kill him and yet I saw you practically shivering every time you saw him! Why, you're downright TERRIFIED." The yelling wasn't helping, what in a wildlife infested wilderness, but already he was panicking again. He just plain didn't care.

Steelheart replied to Macy’s anger with his own shouts and bellows, already turning to head off towards the cave and reclaim his accursed ship.

“Fine then! Leave! I know where I need to go to grab me ship! I’ll do it without ya then! Bringing ya along if all yer going to do is bellyache and whine about every little detail wasn’t part a te plan. So go ahead, turn yer tail and go. Don’t care enough to roast yer ass as you run off, so beat it! Hrm. Ifn this be where we part ways, then good riddance!”

"Go ahead! I'm sure having your ghost to haunt me will be much better, seeing how you barely managed to survive last time you went into the tombs!!" He couldn't really recall the last time he got angry. It was... interesting, and it filled him with all sorts of power. Could he really talk back to Steelheart for this long? It seemed almost unreal.

"Maybe Razenok will decorate his library with your skeleton! Although I'd rather not glance upon you a second longer than I have to.

“I’m getting sore a slapping you around, woman.” admitted Steelheart with a weary distaste. “But if the ghost’s keepin me ship, then I guess we;re stuck here. Together. On this fucking rock you call a planet. And that whore of an animal was nothing more than a dumb beast in a tizzy over a leg of meat I had for lunch. So if ya wanna, kill yerself and see ifn you can call the child back from the dead. Otherwise, stop hollering!” Steelheart rolled his eyes and bashed his arm against the tusk of the dead mother, already planning how and when he’d rip the bones out to carve himself  trophy. “Fe. Be happy I at least got us something to eat, eh? No gratitude? Ifn I died, who’d it come after next eh? A pint sized little grass stain without the strength to protect herself in battle! Ya think a that? I’m gettin tired a this.”

"I don't eat," spat Macy, taking another glance at the slain creature. "And I've been able to defend myself just fine in the past! I just would rather not hurt others." He stepped back, glaring up at the other. "I'm... I'm through with you! Really, what reason did I have for even joining you in the first place? I'd rather let the wilderness take you than help you get your precious ship back!" Losing his shop was taking its toll yet again, and he desperately needed to calm down. Macy wasn't planning on that. This pirate needed to be taught a lesson.

“Heh.” replied the pirate. With a wayward spit at the creature’s horn, Steelheart ran a hand through his beard and nodded. “Ay. It be neceassary. Ya see, I still don’t have me ship, and this rancid bitch wanted a fight! So what am I to do but defend meself?” He met Macy’s glare with a shameless snicker, striking the taurohorn across its tusk and laughing to himself. “Yer too busy worrying about the dead, when ya should be worrying on getting me off this hell.”

"No no no, see..." Macy started off, a bit shaky. He had just about had it with this pirate and whatever he was forced into doing. "See, it WASN'T necessary! You killed her child and now you just... you just slaughter her?? She was justified!" Forgetting about the difference between the two, he stomped up to Steelheart and jabbed a finger at his chest. "You don't even deserve your ship! That ghost can keep it for all I care!!"

Leaping past the mage with little more thought than an instinctual “Run!”, Steelheart led he beast towards the large tree. He turned to face the oncoming rush of horns and teeth, burning anger, and flaring nostrils. 

The pirate’s eyes darted back and forth before he flashed Macy a deadly smile and jumped out of the way of a raging beast. 

The massive thud sounded from the strained trunk of the tree, bark and wood splintering off as a pair of tusks drove themselves into fresh timber. The beast dropped to its knees, stunned and dazed as the pirate let out a chorus of laughs.

“The fucker! That fucker! Thought he could! Ha!” Wasting little time, Steelheart aimed his arm and fired into the creatures eye. Ignoring its please and struggles as he did, he continued shooting until silence and stillness took over the once fuming creature.

“Ha! Easy.”

Only a temporary distraction from the withdrawal he suffered from his Fortuna’s flight.

"Wh..." Macy started, staring at what had just unfolded. Whatever cocky attitude he had just left him at once, leaving him stunned and speechless. Even if he was planning on killing something, the magician wanted to do it quick and with mercy, not shooting it repeatedly until something gave out.

"Did you..." he tried to start, walking closer to it. "Did you just... ..." Macy didn't continue, just staring. To be honest, he wasn't that fond of taurohorns. Some days he'd wake up only to find part of his store trampled. Still, nothing deserved to be executed like that. It was just another reason to despise Steelheart and everything he did.

All Macy could manage was a harsh glare and a muttered, "Now was that really necessary??"

I'm very much alive.

Sorry for the absence, dears. I was extremely busy and time seemed to slip away from me.

However, I'm back now, and I plan on not forgetting to check the time.

The spirit blinked — he’d teleported again. This was going to be confusing.

“…hello…?” He glanced around before his eyes settled on the person in front of him. He wasn’t sure how he’d gotten so lost, but… he shrugged it off. “…who… are you? And where am I?”

He added on a few details, smiling when he got it just right. "Macy Merriweather," he responded, looking back. "And you've managed to stumble into a Mr. Umathos' library. Don't fret, it's a very common occurrence."

Looking up from his sketchbook, Macy smiled.

"Hello, dear!"

"Hey Macy? How are you doing?" Scout asked.

"Oh goodness, hello!"

"Fine really, I have a temporary place to stay at the moment with one of my friends, and I'm quite busy at the moment with some designing."

As if on cue, Steelheart came running through the forest, chased by a hulking beast. With tusks the size of the pirate’s own arm, it charged through the forest greenery. “Fucking bloody hell of all the nine gates!” The pirate spied Macy and quickly make a sharp run at him. “Do something or get out of the way!” he ordered with flailing arms. “Move!” 

The beast itself was avenging the death of one of its own, the very flesh and blood that was a luncheon meal for Steelheart.

"It's too early for this..." Macy muttered, slowly getting to his feet. "Could you have waited? Really..." The nap was still weighing heavy on him, and everything was blurry and sweet. "You killed its child, what else do you expect?" he said with a tone of irritation. Killing was something he did rarely, if at all, and even so, he wouldn't kill an innocent creature. Still, its rampage wouldn't quell and something needed to be done.

"Get out of the way yourself, dear," he remarked, trying to get the last remnants of sleep out.

Needing a lay of the land, Steelheart proposed to ascend the mountain somewhat far away. Climbing trees were risky considering his weighted arm and any misguided creatures in need of a meal could be easily swayed otherwise. Rolling his shoulders, he adopted a wicked smile and charged off into the green brush.

Macy awoke later, well rested. The sun, shadowed by one of the twin moons, shone brightly overhead, illuminating everything beneath it. Sleep was always one thing he never got enough of. Even if he slept until everything eroded away into nothingness, he'd be tired. He didn't want to think about that yet, though, not when he still had friends here.

With a yawn, Macy looked around for the pirate, hoping not to see him.

“You could use a knot on the head.” he whispered in reply. “You wanna nap in the fine dirt and grime, be me guest! If something stupid comes heading this way, don’t expect me to stick me neck out for ya!” Steelheart spat at the ground and looked to the skies. Doing his best to guage where he might need to head, he gave Macy one last glare before heading out.

Glancing over, Macy couldn't help but smirk. He was heading in the wrong direction. All forests on Iptheria really looked the same, and even a native can get lost. All you had to trust was your instinct and most of the time you'd make it out unscathed. Not really looking forward to the pirate blaming it all on him, Macy decided a quick nap was in order. Who knew when he'd be able to again? Besides, the grass was delightfully soft.

Throwing his arms up in frustration, the pirate tossed another stone at a similar bird. It squawked at him in a tone that granted it death at the hands of burning lasers. “You forget that the longer I don’t have me ship, the longer we’re both stuck together on this hellish rock. The sooner the Fortuna’s under me grasp again the sooner I’m getting out of here!” He left out the mention of tying a certain king to the ships back-burners, but details, details.

"I've suffered worse fates than being stuck with you, and hellish rock? I think this place is nice," he replied, lying down in the grass, taking in everything. "You can handle a few minutes more without your little rowboat." Closing his eyes, he began to formulate a plan of running to Raz's library and ditching him, but that wouldn't be nice to the wildlife. He wasn't really planning on coming back to a smoldering wasteland. "I'd like to relax. You could use it as well."

Steelheart ignored the bird remark, choosing to toss another stone at a wayward insect. The remark about his ship however, prompted him to swing at Macy with his bare knuckles.

“This whole damned mission’s been about me ship, you brat!” he shouted with flaring nostrils. “And I’ll be sent to hell long before I willingly give it up. Now get moving!”

"Oh excuse me?" scoffed the mage, glaring at the other. "I'm certain you can handle an hour more without your 'precious ship.'" Just waking up made him forget just who he was talking to, but that was fine. Without him, the pirate would be without ship, and only now was he planning on abusing that, forgetting what happened last time he got too full of himself.

"I'd like to enjoy my morning, thank you," Macy said, walking away from the pirate.
