BG3 Masc Tav/Durge Event

Day 5: Shadowheart

Time for god's favorite princess!

How does your character feel about Shadowheart's secrecy when first traveling together? Does finding out she's a Sharran change how she is viewed? Does your character trust her to keep the artifact safe before it flees to their pockets?

How does your character's choices impact Shadowheart's faith? Does your character tell her whether or not to spare Aylin, or do they leave it up to her? How does it go when Shadowheart finds her parents again?

BG3 Masc Tav/Durge Event Day 4:

Gale

Red and Gale have a roller coaster of a relationship throughout the game. Red isn't sure of Gale's kindness at first, but then becomes the issue themself with their Urges. Yet Red continues to do good while awake and give Gale magic items when he needs them, so Gale settles back into trusting them (mostly). Red also nearly clings to what Gale wants to share, hoping to both hear something familiar and fill in the gaps from a fellow wizard. Gale's judgements end up stinging harsher than the others, but his hidden blushing and flustered words overshadow those moments.

They have their night of magic together, officially stirring the idea of romance, only for that to fall apart when Gale genuinely considers Mystra's task. They slowly come back around in the Underdark and finally get together officially in the Shadow Cursed Lands only to later learn of Red's involvement creating the Absolute plot and falling apart again. They eventually talk things through only for Gale to lose Red to resisting Bhaal.

But they both return to camp. It isn't long before Gale is back to talking Red's ear off and Red is back to teasing him to get him all flustered. Red does manage to convince Gale not to reforge the crown without it becoming an argument — a step in progress for them.

Red continues to doubt himself despite Bhaal's influence being gone, but Gale will be there to comfort them and get creative with outlets of lingering chaos.

BG3 Masc Tav/Durge Event Day 4:

Gale

Their relationship at the start is a mostly one-sided sorcerer-vs-wizard rivalry. Syvin doesn't care about the age-old rivalry but finds Gale's peacocking amusing, so he lets the wizard yap his heart out. Wizards may be powerful but many are handed their knowledge in lesson plans — Syvin didn't even have another sorcerer to look up to let alone learn from. He makes a point to keep up with Gale in combat, even making certain to show he is a fierce sword fighter when magic isn't the answer.

BG3 Masc Event Day 4: Gale

Ft. Malin (he/him), the drow barbarian, whose second highest stat is intelligence. Gale is overjoyed to have found someone who can keep up with his yapping and contribute to the conversation and Malin is relieved to have found someone who is willing to look past his rougher exterior to get to know the real him.

Day 4: Gale

Next up is the wizard of Waterdeep!

What is their reaction to pulling a man out of a rock and the introduction that follows? Do they like his stories as they go about the grove? Do they take him up on his offer for a magic lesson?

How do they react to his need for magic items without knowing why? What do they think when they finally do learn of the reason? What do they do when they meet Elminster and learn of Mystra's task? Is there a shift in the relationship seeing Gale set on dying?

How does time in the city go with Gale's interest in the Crown of Karsus? Do they help him find the book? What are their thoughts about him going to speak to Mystra? Do they encourage his ambition or encourage him to stay a man in the flesh?

BG3 Masc Event Day 3: Kar’niss (wildcard npc)

Ft. Tyrian (they/them), the changeling wizard. They were throw out by their (adopted) drow family after they found out Tyrian was a changeling, and they bond with Kar’niss over being two outcasts of drow society. They kind of want to study him under a microscope, but he’s mainly just happy that they match his freak and haven’t tried to eat him yet.

Wildcard NPC — Arabella

That's her new dad. Syvin keeps tabs on the kids that end up in the camp, making sure they are taken care of. Arabella is one who doesn't necessarily have a specific caregiver, but she gravitates towards Syvin as he was the one who spoke against Kagha. He takes the time to try to help Arabella gain more control and stamina for her new powers, knowing first-hand how draining sudden magic can be. Syvin is glad to see her doing well when they run into her in Baldur's Gate, and he feels a sense of pride when she visits his home years later, an adventurer in her own right.

Day 3: Wildcard NPC

NPC time!

Who is leaving a mark on your character, big or small?

Do they become closer to Zevlor than what can be shown in the game? Do they try their damnedest to save Ellyka? Do they endlessly think of Raphael, the cambion eager to be their last resort no matter how much they know it'll be a bad idea?

BG3 Masc Tav/Durge Event Day 2:

Karlach

Karlach reminds Syvin a lot of his sister. She is strong, fierce, and determined to do what good she can with what she's got. Karlach feels like a piece of home, giving him comfort while also making him even more homesick. Her habit of calling everyone soldier also gives him a sense of freedom. He doesn't have to be a general right now, he doesn't even have to lead. He's just another "soldier" in camp to support Hans.

BG3 Masc Event Day 2: Karlach

Ft. Tarsal (he/they) the tiefling Oath breaker paladin. He’s a very jittery, anxious, glass-half-empty person when it comes to his own life, but is very grounded and caring when it comes to others; they both help keep each other from spiraling during the darker parts of the journey, and just overall have a very sweet relationship.

Day 2: Karlach

Day two is everyone's favorite barbarian, Mama K!

How quick are they to believe she isn't a devil if sent for her by Wyll or the "paladins"? How to they react to her literal fiery rage in the toll house?

Do they help her get upgrades from Dammon to cool her off? How do they feel about her engine slowly killing her, and how do those feelings affect the relationship?

Do they help her kill Gortash, or do they ally with him, and how does that go for the two? What do they do for Karlach on the dock after the defeat of the Absolute?

Ft. Castor (he/him), the drow/vampire spawn barbarian. They’re both ex monster hunters turned into ‘monsters’, so they do a lot of bonding over that and the angst that comes with it.

Wyll

Wyll feels like the son that Syvin doesn't immediately feel the need to guide. He's young and naive, yes, but he's also made a name for himself as The Blade of Frontiers — he must have some sort of a good head on his shoulders. When they learn of Mizora — and more about the pact itself later — Syvin becomes more protective of Wyll socially. Syvin is mostly someone who watches from the background, but he always gladly listens to Wyll's stories when the young man wants to bend his ear.

Day 1: Wyll

Starting off the event with the Blade of Frontiers himself!

How does your character get along with the man trying to help train the tiefling kids? How do they handle his search for the "devil" Karlach? Or do they meet after finding Karlach, when he tries to attack her in camp?

Do they like his stories and puns? How do they feel about how he is often downplaying his own thoughts and emotions, always The Blade and hardly ever just Wyll?

Do things change along the way? Does Wyll become a Duke or stay The Blade, and does such an ending affect the relationship at all?

Tomorrow finally starts the Masc Tav/Durge event, and I’m getting all the daily character posts queued up and ready.

I’ll be including some questions to get the gears turning, but feel free to ignore them and do your own thing if that works better for expressing the relationship between your character and the canon character!

I’m excited to see all the different ways our characters interact with the cast <3

This will take place August 1st-14th 2026 as an event, but postings after the event date are always welcome! Join in for however many or few you’d like. The event tag is #BG3MascEvent but I also encourage adding to and exploring the #male Tav and #bg3 male Tav tags as well! It is hard to find each other in the sea of generic Tav tags, so I wanted to do a little event to highlight the guys a bit easier.
