Starting off their lore thread with some naming notes!
é sounds like the "a" in "pay"
í sounds like the "ee" in "see"
ä sounds like the "a" in "father"
' sounds like the pause in "uh-oh"
Vowel clusters have different appearances based on where in the name they appear, but almost all are pronounced separately rather than a single syllable.
Middle of name clusters will have the 2nd vowel marked by a diaeresis symbol above it. These are always pronounced separately. (ex: -oä- vs -oa-)
End of name clusters will never have a diaeresis symbol if the 1st vowel already has an accent mark. These are always pronounced separately. (ex: -éa)
If a cluster doesn't have any marks, the vowels are pronounced together. (ex: -ou)
Gender is indicated in given names based on the 3rd syllable in a given name:
é = female (ex: Anzafélu)
í = male/neutral (ex: Anzafílu)
Spelling can shift if gender does!
Leaders are easily identified by the suffix of their given name:
These suffixes are only used during active leadership. If a new leader is chosen, they would gain the suffix and the leader stepping down would remove theirs.
Given names can be anywhere between 3 and 5 syllables long, though the average is 4.
Clan names can be shorter or longer, depending on the clan's origin.
All end in 'tu (ex: Tsaloäfi'tu)
Clan names are said before a given name (ex: Tsaloäfi'tu Tseluméri)
