Hot take I’ve said before, but I don’t give a fuck if other RPers bend/break the lore with their RP.
Someone can RP being Naruto transporting to Hydaelyn to fight Goku for the right of becoming the Super Sayin Hokage of Doma in order to amass enough power to battle an evil, corrupted Sailor Moon that burst out of Dalamud if that’s really what makes them happy.
Would I want to RP with them? Nah - not my thing. (Though I’d want to see the results of the mighty showdown.)
Would I stop them from RPing or make fun of them for doing it? Nah. Not an asshole. Also got better shit to do with my time than try to dictate how people play pretend in a video game.
We all have our RP preferences. As long as people are having fun and not forcing preferences upon each other - it shouldn’t matter what other RPers are doing. Either they mesh with you and you play well together - or they don’t and you just peacefully stay in your separate bubbles without harassing each other over the ‘right way’ to do shit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Splitting hairs over what’s the “correct” way to play pretend with our imaginary video game characters is equally as meaningful in life as toddlers yelling at each other over the correct way to play make-believe. I would take the urge to do so as a sign that you need new hobbies and some new life priorities, because this game ain’t that big a deal.
