Hey there, sorry about our lack of updates and content.
I, Greg, for one have been going through some stuff recently and had lost my motivation to work on any of my cosplays and the like...
But after returning from Anime North this past weekend (dressed as Hiccup once again,) I feel a resurgence to my motivation and am looking to remake my Hiccup costume among other things.
I do apologize that we haven’t been that active - But I do hope to change this as I start getting into the cosplaying spirit and building mood.

Since Im planning on remaking my Hiccup costume from the second HTTYD, I will likely be making a couple of tutorials and such as I build him once again. (Like for his Helmet)
Thanks for bearing with us and sticking around for as long as you all have been.

Here are some schematics that I drew up a while back in preparation for his actual construction. This costume will be done (hopefully) by Anime North 2015, which will be May of next year. Currently I am making the basic form of the head, so I've yet to create anything substantial. So for now, schematics! Maybe tonight I'll upload a video of the dummy version of the head I made a few weeks ago.

Hello everyone. We apologize for the inactivity as of late. You understand school and how busy it makes us all, right?
Well, we have news for you lot of loyal followers.
We both have decided in part what we are going to be creating for next years convention season.
We have been compiling pictures taken at different photo shoots over the past convention season and will be updating within the coming days.
We are both in town and are going to be meeting up to work on our aforementioned costumes several times before the next semester steals away our free time.
The first of which sessions will be this Sunday.

Why thank you. I’ll do my best to explain how I made the helmet under the cut, because the helmet I have made isn’t a 100% pepakura replica. I used a helmet that resembled the general look of Hiccups and modified it as I built it.There’s several pictures to help visualize and yeah.
The pepakura file I used for the base can be found HERE. It is the Faceplate portion of the EVA Helmet from the Halo series.
If you build that, you’ll get something that resembles this:
From here on, everything else was scratch built.
I found that the ridge is just right to represent the same such ridge on Hiccups Helmet.
From here I cut craft foam to round the bottom of the helm out, keeping to the general shape of the ridge.
The gap between the two halves is easily covered by the strip of material running vertically from the bottom of Hiccups helmet.
You can easily cut the eyes out of the helmet at this time. I had to figure out exactly where my eyes lined up while wearing the thing, so you might need to get some assistance from a friend..
The only problem is the back of this thing where his helmet…
I didn’t take as many photos from here on out, so I’ll try to do my best to explain it.
First off, I cut out a strip of cardstock and glued one end to each side of the helmet. Like so,
This helped pull the two sides together and helped hold the helm in a legitamate helmet shape… if that makes sense to you?
From here, I began work on the aforementioned ‘layers’
I cut out a shape that resembles the following out of craft foam.
I aligned the Flat edge, shown in green with the back of the existing helmet (curving along with the helmets already natural curve) to form the top of the layers.
From here, I cut out more shapes similar to that above(each longer than the last) and slide them inside the helmet so that the flat edge (green) was pressed against the inside of the helmets top,. Kinda like this?
Add a couple more layers and voila!
From there,- I applied a layer of Resin (to make it rigid and able to retain its shape)- I stretched a black fabric over all but the part underneath the ‘Ridge’. - Sculpted the rows of spikes out of claw
I think you’ll know what other little things you’ll have left to attach and finish. But yeah, that’s the general process of what I did.
I hope this all helps, this is the first “Tutorial” that I’ve ever done up, so I hope I’m not missing anything.

We have here Ness, Peach, and Shiek - 2 of which are confirmed to be returning, but what of the Earthbound character? (I'm pretty positive he'll be coming back as well, fret not).

Con Bravo was a blast and a half. It was really interesting to have some professional photos taken as well of our cosplays, which Greg and I will likely be uploading periodically over the next few weeks.
In all: very pleased with the progress on the Little Mac costume. I've been working out for around a month now and trying to get in shape to compliment the character. Lots of people came up to say hello or pretend to fight, so thanks to all the people that made it a great weekend.
It was cool that as many people recognised me from Punch Out! as Super Smash Bros 4 ^^
