Hello all! If you're an Artist or collector of immersive memorabilia, the group at Lost Immersive could use your help. We are currently taking donations for our next fundraiser auctions. The window to apply closes soon! Head to lostimmersive.com for more info and to submit your art or items!
A one night event to celebrate and assist performers and staff in the immersive theater community.
La-HA! hit me like a fucking drug.
this is what every social interaction feels like when you’re neurodivergent
I looked up the menu for the restaurant this is based on and i wanted to die.
i actually know abt cafe gratitude, u have to order by SAYING “i am [menu item]” it’s fucking insane
yeah, this place grates on my every nerve. My boss goes there, she tried to get me to go there for a regular weekly meeting and I flat out refused. this is one of the things I do not like about living in Santa Cruz.
I wish the fandom was alive again. I’ve only gone a handful of times. I loved reading what everyone had to say about the show. I found the Sleep No More Discord and that place is toxic. I thought Sleep No More had a pretty chill fandom, but it looks like I’m wrong. It’s very cliquish and not beginner friendly. I feel like if I posted something the mods would attack me.
I’m so rarely on here and I don’t see where to find out when this was posted to me, but I will say, I think you’ve misread the discord a bit, it’s chaotic for sure, but there’s a lot of love there.
fandoms are a tricky thing in general, they can seem cliquish and tough to navigate, but imho they’re usually just made up of a bunch of folks who want to belong. Sometimes that can read as exclusionary, which I’m not a fan of, but generally folks are decent.
I was wondering what's your favorite moment from a Sleep No More party? -LGF
ooft, this is such a great question.
I’m going to cheat a bit and pick two moments, they're not necessarily my favorites, but they’re bright spots in an already bright constellation of great moments.
The first was at the first Inferno, Halloween 2014, my first SNM party. it was the ballroom set piece where Paul z “sacrificed” Robi in the big glass/perspex box. I was just completely blown away by how this party was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. I turned to Christina and said “So this is what we do for Halloween from now on right?“
The second was this ballroom number, a year later in 2015, this whole party was incredible, and the carousel just topped it off amazingly.
These are just two of hundreds of special moments in that building, some that are personal than others, but these two always come to mind when I think of the parties.
Has the SNM program changed much since 2016? Thanks!
Since 2016? I’m not sure. I’ve bought the program twice, first at the beginning of the show’s run, and then again several years later when the cover changed (probably around 2015 or so.) I haven’t purchased one since then.
While the basics of the inside seems to have remained somewhat the same, there have been a few changes. Of course the cover and the construction are different. The earliest versions were sewn together instead of glued. (You can see the stitching in this picture.)
And then at some point, the folded pages which had a couple of hidden secrets between them disappeared. (Although the secret bits were added later in the run. They aren’t in my earliest program.) It used to be that every page was folded in half, and if you looked inside the fold, there were a couple of places that had something hidden in there. Most of the time, it was just solid red, however.
There are definite differences between my two programs. Some of the images inside are different, and the later one has more in it—a bit more explanation of the show, and more images, including a few pages of color images.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what the current program looks like. I should probably get one just to see.
I know a few people have collected most of them…does anyone have better insight than I do? @rottenwoodandwiltedsunflowers @maskedmohawk
Near as I can tell there are three “major” versions. All with different covers. Then there are reprintings with cast updates. There are at least 5 different printings total and Im sure there are many more.
Since the thistle on the cover turned silver I think the content other than personnel has remained largely static.
Worth noting, maybe, that I now have confirmed at least 4 versions of the silver thistle cover. Differentiated by personnel.
Hi all, I’ve circled back to this, to try and actually nail down what different versions there might be out there.
If you have a program sitting around, would you be willing to take 2 minutes to submit a photograph of the cast page? this form literally has 3 questions, and it’ll help me put together a better list of program versions:

It’s time for immersive fans to give back.
Immersive theater lays bare our need and longing for authentic human connection. NYC’s eclectic galaxy of immersive theater productions has entertained and moved millions of audience members. From intimate experiences built for one person to six-story buildings built for 400 guests, in candle-lit closets, reimagined historic buildings, and surreal fantasy landscapes sealed into old warehouses, immersive shows help us connect to our deeper truths. Today, however, the people who lovingly made these experiences a reality for us are struggling.
We can’t attend live immersive events right now, but we can support the cast, crew, and staff of immersive shows who are unsure when their next payday is coming, who are no longer receiving unemployment stimulus help, and who have no idea when NYC theaters will open their doors to flesh-and-bone audiences again. Join us! Follow @losthalloween on Instagram and keep an eye out for more details about tickets (which will be pay-what-you-can including FREE), fundraisers, donations, performers, and more! Want to make an individual donation to the fund that will go directly to immersive staff, cast, and crew affected by COVID-19? Email [email protected] to find out how to make a gift today. More info on all of the above and move coming soon! - The Lost Halloween Crew
Lovers of Immersive productions: it's time to give back.
Ticketing, donation, and more info coming soon!
In the meantime, go follow losthalloween on Instagram.
I’ve been silent too long friends, come, join us to make this Lost Halloween special.
Three consecutive weekends in NYC. The past 4 weeks have been absolutely insane amounts of travel, lots of wonderful people and seeing some of my all time favorites check out of the hotel.

I decided to try my hand at woodcarving. This was my first attempt and I am super stoked on it. This was done entirely freehand and by eye. I had a mask on hand for comparison. I used a circular saw and a reciprocating saw to cut the log to rough shape. Then a die grinder with burr bits and cutter bits to shape the front. I hogged out the back with a terrifying angle grinder wheel called the “holey Galahad” the mask is finished with 2 applications of Danish Oil.
His name is Birnam. I honestly couldn’t tell you what kind of wood he is made of but it came from a tree cut down as part of construction of the Audrey Stanley Shakespeare Theater here in Santa Cruz.

Reorganization in progress. Spot the theme for this box.
listen.
don’t vote for the best candidate.
vote for the one most likely to remove a republican.
it’s that simple.
Vote them out.
Vote for the candidate that sees every person as a human being.
not if they can’t win, buddy. i’m serious. LISTEN. VOTE OUT THE REPUBLICANS. EVEN IF THAT MEANS VOTING IN SOME REGULAR ASSHOLES.
if the candidate who sees every person as a human being is green party, then you vote for the democrat who sees every person as a stepping stone, because unless we get rid of the republican who sees every person as a target a lot of us are going to goddamn die. people are dying already. like, not to guilt you, but if we don’t get a democratic majority in the house and senate ASAP we’re screwed.
it doesn’t fucking matter if you voted for Jesus Actual Christ if he was running on a penny ante party ticket. we need you to vote for Joe Slick Bastard Democrat instead, because there is no such thing as a green party majority in the senate, do you understand? there will not be a green party speaker of the house. green party will not get to put up supreme court nominees.
if you vote for the Good People instead of the democrats, we’re gonna end up back in this toilet bowl again, only deeper this time because the republicans will take it as a mandate to do whatever they want.
take a deep breath, put on rubber gloves, and touch the poop. don’t be precious.
In the primary you vote for the best candidate. In the general you vote for the person who can remove the Republican. You have your chance to do both.
In the primary you vote for the best candidate. In the general you vote for the person who can remove the Republican.
I read on another post “this is about setting the difficulty of our boss battle for the next two years” and that is absolutely true. You’re not voting for someone you agree with, you’re not voting for someone who is perfect or great or even good.
You are voting for the person who is a) going to get elected and b) is easiest to fight for what you need. Until we move the needle, the best we can expect is ‘the best of all enemies’ and not ‘an ally’.
We did this in Canada.
And guess what?
IT FUCKING WORKED.
We don’t have an awesome government, and it’s not the Prime Minister I would have liked or thought was the best or the party I would have normally voted for. The Stop Harper movement got him out, it defeated the Conservative Government resoundingly, and while it’s not ideal, it’s a far cry better and easier to work with than what we had before. It wasn’t the man who was described as ‘Stalinistic’ by his OWN party members.
That’s because our government is a two party system. It is designed to eliminate third party or low percentage votes. Don’t throw your vote away on good conscience. Vote for the one who removes the enemy you know is evil. Then move on to assessing a new enemy, if need be.
Yes to this, and also, maybe start advocating for ranked choice voting in your local elections, in your county, in your state. You want to be able to vote your conscience? get ranked choice voting in place, that way everyone’s vote counts, all the way to the end.
About the rep bar floor. seriously, I almost lost a shoe last night.
