mayaofthemoonâ:
Maya considered his question. Her first impulse was to say pastel, but ⌠pastels didnât really fit her and they certainly didnât fit her homeâs style. Her fingertips brushed over a few petals of the flowers on display and her mind started to drift to a scene in her book. Giving herself a shake, she refocused. âDeep tones, I think,â she finally said. âBolder colors.â Her lips quirked. âTheyâll fit better at home.â
Irises, most definitely. Mason had a bunch that were fresh and made up primarily of deep purple petals. Yet, inside by the buds many of them had a ring of radiant of blue and a few spots of the traditional yellow.Â
He picked from them the ones that stood out as the most colorful and bundled them together for her. âA beautiful bouquet for a beautiful lady. Anything else I can do you for you?â he said politely.
isidoredelgadoâ:
Late night extended stays had became more frequently in the recent weeks - Isidore, needing a place to sleep that wasnât the shopâs couch and the suffocating familiarity of his own home, had crashed yet again after coming by to hang out the night before. Heâd never considered himself a clingy person; but now with the curious absence of people in his circle, Isidore had been more reliant on his friends.
Especially the ones with comfortable couches. It was the smell that first brought Isidore to his senses, and sent him waddling into the kitchen, a blanket still draped across his shoulders and down his back. With the plate set before him, Isidore leaned forward and sniffed. âOh. You did not... you didnât have to cook me breakfast. I apologize for crashing again, I-â Isidore smiled, suppressing a sigh. âI appreciate it. Thank you,â He added, biting into the sandwich tentatively. Usually, Isi didnât like eggs. Or bread, unless slathered with tuna... but it was impolite to decline. âYou are up early.â
Mason watched with amusement as Isidore tried to argue the necessity of cooking a guest food. If his mother heard that... Oh, that would be quite the scene. But he didnât argue back. He simply smiled and returned to his own meal, dousing it in sriracha in between bites himself. He didnât love eggs either, but they were really good for keeping and building muscle. He understood the same from anyone else although he struggled with understanding Isiâs diet. It didnât seem to consist of much more than fish and, while Port Vale was certainly known for the stuff, Mason... didnât love seafood. In fact, if there was another option, he almost always opted for it.Â
âYeah, weâve got a bunch of stuff getting delivered at the shop this morning. Youâre welcome to stay here as long as you want, though. No worries. Seems like you needed the rest, huh?â
gemmawalkerâ:
On her way back from some grocery shopping at the farmerâs market, Gemma paused when she realized that she was being spoken to. It was a surprise to be offered something for free - especially a flower from a human whose business she was pretty certain relied upon selling flowers for profit. Or perhaps she wasnât being offered a flower for free - maybe this was some odd new method of sales where he would turn around and try to charge her if she accepted a flower? That seemed like a stretch, but she wasnât certain what his motivations might be otherwise. âIâm not opposed to flowers,â she hedged, not really sure what the right answer was in such an unusual interaction.
He thought it a little odd that she didnât seem more certain about it. A free flower was a free flower... The ladies, especially, always seemed to take kindly to that.
But he always tried to remain judgement free so he simply put the thought from his head and offered her a smile. âDo you want to tell me your favorite kind or shall we see if Iâve gotten enough practice with my mind reading powers?â he joked. He always kind of hoped they went for the latter but he was fine with whatever option would win his favor. He had definitely lost the guessing game before.
