BIOGRAPHY

Mason had it all growing up, the family who loved him, the schooling he aced in and even the perfect girlfriend. But that all came tumbling down when he broke his collarbone in high school which caused him to lose his full ride scholarship to college as a footballer. After the accident of defending his sister and getting into a scruff, Mason realized that he really didn't want to pursue the athletic career and rather do something more simple like owning a shop. At first he wasn't certain on what he wanted to do with himself. sure he went to college and aced well in school but he was still stuck on what he wanted to do with his life.

He was engaged once, he thought his life was coming together when he had a plan. Sometimes those plans don't fall through which had him rethinking his whole life choices when he caught his fiancé in bed with his boss. After that, Mason realized that maybe love wasn't in his future and rather he should focus on what to make out of his life. He tried many things, becoming a mechanic which he loved cars but it didn't pay well as he wanted so he decided to do the next best thing and becoming his own boss after the failure, thanks to his ex. When he opened up his own shop, it was like everything was falling together but he still felt unsatisfied.

Growing up in Aurora Bay was home to him, sure he ventured out to check what it was like but he always found himself missing home which he decided to move back for good and open a shop. It made good money but there was still a piece of him missing something that he still couldn't place his finger on.

"am I detecting some jealousy in your voice, mister cambridge?" she asked in a teasing, yet alluring tone. stormy eyes glanced up at him while a playful smirk played on her lips before she turned her attention back to louie. "did you hear that, dear? you're making him jealous because I'm paying attention to you and not him. silly, silly boy." the french was wrapped in a baby-voiced tone as she continued to shower the excitable puppy in affection, her eyes taking moments to steal glances at him. though she soon sent louie on his way with a small peck on his head and a command to go sit in his very ornate, very pink bed.

"maybe you should work harder keeping my attention." she mused with a joking lilt as she rose back up and walked over to him. "then I wouldn't get so distracted." just as she leaned in, she quickly moved past him and locked her door. "just a thought."

as he spoke, isla quickly got to work grabbing two glasses out of her cupboard. as he entered her space, she allowed herself to brush against him, their dance back in motion. "could you?" the question was thick with both an invitation and a challenge. "I don't know if you'd be up for it." though she continued focusing her attention on crafting the cocktails, the feeling of his eyes on her was all she could think about. the thrill of knowing he was completely entranced was her favorite type of high. "as you wish, sir."

the clear alcohol mixed into the reddish concoction as she poured a double (and a half, if she was being honest) shot of vodka into the glass before giving it a quick stir. "there you are." the drink was soon pressed into his hand, her fingers tracing over his skin before parting.

her short frame was soon draped across her couch as the blonde made herself at home, though the positioning of each limb was like an art piece: elegant yet effortless. "so, what have you been up to, these days? how many grand adventures are you having without me?" the smirk that followed her words gave away that the last part was nothing but a tease.

Mason leaned against the doorframe as he watched Isla with a knowing glint in his eyes. "Jealous?" He repeated raising his eyebrow, a mischievous smile pulling at his lips. "I can't say I'm jealous...maybe disappointed. I would think you would know by now that my attention is short span of a goldfish." He slowly took a step closer. "But...if you're going to tease me like usual, you better be prepared to work for it."

Accepting the drink from her, his touch lingering before pulling his hand away. "Thanks." He stood close, letting the tension between them simmer a little longer, a game that he enjoyed playing. He followed after her, taking a seat near her as he took a long sip of the drink.

"Me? With grand adventures? I think you're the one who is constantly busy." He shakes his head playfully, resting his arm against the back of the couch. "I've been occupied with the shop. You know...inventory...making sure I don't go bankrupt, the usual." He turned his blue eyes back onto the others, a smirk never leaving his face.

Julian listens to Mason's story with a look of mild horror. He couldn't fathom hating someone after a break up that much. Sure, things with Mari had ended badly when they were together, but Julian wasn't one to hold a grudge like that.

"Jesus," he exhales a long breath. "I really thought that was only something people did in the movies." Art did imitate life, he supposed.

After a hearty laugh, Julian nods his head. "After the story you just told me, yes. You definitely have relationship trauma." There was no doubt, and Julian didn't feel he could relate on that part. He shakes his head in response. "I don't think so. I mean, feelings do get hurt and everything.." Flashes of New Years do come to mind, but that wasn't something he'd ever done before and given how crappy he felt after, Julian wouldn't do it again.

"I don't know, I don't have the energy to feel spiteful about that kind of stuff. They usually ask for their stuff back, so I give it to them." He held up his empty hands, wiggling his fingers. "So, nothing to burn."

"Not even a photo?" He asked, amazed that there was one person here, maybe others but right now he was focused on Julian not having anything to burn or worth burning. He supposed there were healthy breakups, it just seemed that he wasn't atoned to having that in this life time. Or maybe he thrived on the toxicity of it and having a healthy relationship seemed a little...weird. "Damn, I look like the sad little punk here at this bonfire for having relationship trauma, I think that requires us to get a little lit tonight and well...grab food after, if I don't find myself someone that is."

"Heeeey bossman," Keo greets, unsure if that was even an accurate word to use for Mason in relation to himself after he dipped without so much as a word to go hang out in Vegas, "Benevolent and forgiving bossman, which I've always said."

( Technically he never has said that but if he wasn't fired, he would definitely start to. )

"When's my next shift?"

"Your next shift." He repeated back to Keo, raising his eyebrows in amusement. He should be upset that he hasn't once showed up to his shifts and should fire him but Mason had a soft heart or maybe he was a big push over on people younger than him. Either way, he knew that the days Keo missed shouldn't be excused. "You work here?" He asked as he placed his hand on his hips, attempting to look upset but instead the smile played on his lips.

Esma turned her attention to him, a playful pout appearing on her lips. “You mean to say you’re leaving me?” It wasn’t that she was needy, more that she liked his attention. Or anybody’s for that matter. Esma made her way back to the bed and climbed on top of him, knees resting on either side of his torso. “Can’t be that important if you don’t remember.” @masoncambridge

"Well one of my workers called out sick and I do need to do some inventory." Mason stated as he laid back against the pillows looking up at her. "Besides, I do have to work to make a living and keeping my business open." Sure he probably could call in another worker but that required having to call people and listen to their excuses.

"It was pretty normal, my parents loved me and always wanted what was best for me. Especially my dad when it came to sports, I think that was our bonding moment was when I got into playing sports. I know he was upset that I got hurt but he is supportive of what I do these days."

"Probably when my grandpa died. I was pretty close to him and he was always there for me growing up. So when he passed so suddenly, it did leave a huge mark in my life."

"It was between a baseball or my GI Joe doll. Baseball because my father liked playing with me and my GI Joe doll because well...GI Joe was cool."

Julian nodded his head. He was definitely into it, it was a spectacle and he loved that kind of thing. "You do a sacrificial burning after every break up?" He asks, curious.

"I'm more tempted to throw myself in that fire than anything of my exes." Majority of the time, Julian was the one to blame. He was too dramatic, too overbearing, too much. "I came for my friends. They have a lot of relationship trauma."

"I mean I can't say--actually yeah I sort of did that." Mason said with a proud grin. "After my ex-fiance and I broke things off, I sort of burned her shit because well at the time I wanted a clean break and supposedly it was a better outcome than turning towards alcohol or drugs."

"Are you saying I have relationship trauma? I am hurt Julian, I thought I could count on you." Mason said dramatically as he placed a hand over his heart, acting as if his words inflicted wounds on him. "C'mon...you're telling me you didn't have any sort of trauma from a relationship?"

"Ah!" Rina sprung out of their seat and away from the bench without hesitation. Hands up by their dark hair in an attempt to swat it away. "Fuck me, is it gone?" They weren't allergic, but that didn't mean they wanted to be stung if they could avoid it.

"I mean...at least you're not allergic--unless you are then thank god because my first aid thing expired. So what if I didn't understand the same old how to save a life type deal."

"Mhm," she sighed, her eyes admired her toned body in the floor length mirror, standing there in her underwear. "I think my tan is disintegrating from our trip. Thank fuck it's starting to warm up." She was beginning to think she'd have to spray tan until summer came. They'd had a really good time on their trip away, it was nice to be with just him. She then turned towards him, her head tilting to the side. "What are you doing today?"

"Uh...well go do inventory...be a manager type shit then probably eat an edible. Nothing too exciting, maybe I should have became a cop so I can say I have exciting life to live." Mason said shrugging as he leaned back against her bed as he watched her admire herself in the mirror. He lightly patted his stomach as he thought of other possibilities of his evening. "Oh wait, I think I have plans too...I just have to remember."

"The lead singer looks like he hasn't washed his hair in weeks." Connie doesn't belong here. Earlier today she heard one of the Paralegals call her pretentious, and so Connie found herself sitting at Sharky's trying to convince herself she is in fact one with the people. Maybe a year ago she wouldn't have felt so pressed about others opinions of her, but suddenly as of late the elitism jokes and stereotypes that she used as a shield from judgement suddenly weren't as fortifying anymore.

"Uh probably because he hasn't, the grease is greasing." Mason said with a distasteful look. He wasn't always about judging people's looks but when it came to hair washing days, for the love of all holy, wash the damn hair. Not enough dry shampoo could fix that. "I bet we can probably use some of that grease for some fast food."

Coming back here was a mistake, Rina thought to herself as her head rested on the bench. A screenshot of some instagram article had been sent directly from their manager with a not-so-subtle 'Is this you lying low?' message. Surely getting groceries was allowed, did they want Rina to starve? Maybe, but coming back here was punishment enough. Self-inflicted punishment, but still.

Staring up through the trees, the wind rustling the leaves, they barely noticed someone approaching to their left. "Huh? You talkin' to me?"

"Uh yeah...I was just saying that you have a bee near you...didn't want you to freak out and get stung." Mason made a hand movement as he flashed an uncertain smile. "Or perhaps you being deathly allergic."

Esma's fingers gripped onto the material of his shirt, tugging him a little closer. "Me in a bikini..." she repeated, smirking up at him. It all sounded kind of perfect, and maybe the getaway she needed after everything that had gone on recently. "Or me in nothing at all and us making a total fucking mess of a beach front hotel room." She needed to get out of her head and maybe this would bring her back to reality so she could figure out what to do next. "Us skinny dipping, lots of cocktails," she smiled. "I think it'll be really fun don't you?"

Mason raised a single brow in amusement at Esma's description of their little mini vacation. It all sounded pleasing and he wasn't one to complain to see her without anything on. "Hmm...you strike a hard bargain there Esma." He said with a playful smile on his face before fully giving in. "Okay okay...let's go. You had me at skinny dipping."
