BIO:
sixth born son of a collective brood of fourteen children -- eight on his father's side, five on his mother's -- keola's always been accustomed to crowded spaces and chaos.
he's the only child of his mother and father, the rest are all half-siblings.
keo was born nine months after a whirlwind two month romance, and though his parents hadn't known each other well before he arrived they both always agreed that two things had always been consistent about their boy and that was that his feet were usually found in water and his head was always up in the clouds.
grew up predominantly with his mother and his maternal half-siblings in an always overcrowded house in aurora bay, though he did spend most summers and holidays in matautu with his father and paternal siblings.
picked up a love for surfing early in samoa, possessing no fear of the waves and all enthusiasm for the sport.
the older he got, the more independent he became and he pushed back against most perceived authorities by the time he reached his teenage years.
by fifteen, he was travelling less to see his father's side of the family and his father himself and he had lost most of his interest in school.
he smoked his first joint not long after his fifteenth birthday and sparking that sparked a love for something that went as deep for him as his love of surfing.
floated his way through the rest of his education, scraping by with a high school diploma that he didn't plan to use.
with no plans for college on the horizon and most of his days starting at 2pm, his frustrated mother gave him an ultimatum at eighteen -- do something with yourself or get out of my house.
keo opted for the latter, using every last penny that he had saved to buy a van that he spent the guts of the next year fixing up and modifying into a liveable conversion.
van morrison became his primary source of freedom, enabling him to hop in with his boards and his blunts and take off to wherever he felt like going next (usually with shaggy blasting through the stereo).
keola's chill with his life as it stands and doesnβt mind the fact that he and his van arenβt actually going anywhere from there currently β doesnβt mind that he only has a good meal when he visits his mom or his siblings or that he only gets to shower at his friendsβ addresses or titanium gym.
he likes the unpredictability of it and that his life doesn't look like everyone else's around him.
he's mostly oblivious to his own surroundings and content with his own company.
