A sheep died in a bog. The top of the sheep’s back was not submerged and rotted away. The submerged parts remained perfectly preserved.

I love this style. It’s very authentic, and you might think it comes from an actual medieval fresco if you didn’t know what it was, or who drew it.
The whip is kind of a giveaway, though. How often do you see whips in medieval art?
