You know how people will do videogame demakes where they’ll take a game and just redo it as an older console generation equivalent in terms of graphics? Stuff like making Pokémon BW or SM in the style of the GB/GBC era. Story is intact, it is just the graphics that got changed to fit that older technology.

It got me thinking…why not do that with tv shows/movies?

Keep the storyline and such, but use the sfx, props and set limitations of a show from stuff more or less 1969 and back. No cgi, big budget sets nor props that you clearly didn’t just slap some silly stuff on to in order to pretend it isn’t something mundane.

People will often praise a show or movie for the writing, sometimes before they praise the rest of the content, so why not see just how much weight the writing carries by demaking everything else about it?

For example, take an episode from, say, the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who, but with the sort of budget from the First Doctor.

Sure his folks weren’t perfect, but some of the sh*t Calvin pulled would’ve made most parents put him in a home or something, but nope. They seriously loved their kid and just tried to teach him through all of the headaches, many he caused them on purpose, and strips like this just show that for all of the chaos, there’s a lot of love in this family.

Sometimes I think about that one post where someone asked if you could cook a chicken by smacking it and someone was kind enough to do the math because that is totally something Wally West would do, especially in the DCAU. Just get distracted by a bunch of good deeds, realizes he doesn’t have the chicken ready for some charity thing and there’s not enough time to cook it the usual way and all of his buddies with heat related powers are busy, so he does the only sensible thing: slap it.
