So my computer turned off/shut off/crashed because I left minecraft up too long on low battery while I was away from it doing something else now my UI looks like this
I'm on Linux and I'm not sure what's going on. I tried restarting, but that didn't fix anything :/
the refresh option for the main screen seems to be missing or it just wasn't there in the first place and I hallucinated it's existence.
tech support side of tumblr, any ideas?
One of our girlfriends had her computer break a while ago and is trying to raise money for it. Because of her issues, she's uncomfortable setting a definite goal and her current plan is "get the best she can with whatever money she can raise." If you can help, please do?

i started using my old laptop last yearish and obviously neither of my parents are paying for the protection plan for it because i thought i lost it so im just sort of watching it fall into disrepear and get worse and worse until i can fix it or get a new one 💔
like right now, every 2 minutes i have to retype in the wifi password and reconnect to the wifi so that i can even use it because there was some sort of update that i didnt do and now if i want it fixed i have to get my mom/dad to sign into the laptop under a new account to reset it or something because the laptop still thinks im like 12.
ive had to fix the wifi 4 times since i started writing this post im dyingggg
I can’t find part of my computer charger…. I guess it must have gotten left behind at work. Ugh.
Im gonna have to do my homework next week… which is fine. It’s not due until midnight on Tuesday. But that’s annoying.
And I can’t do it on my phone… cause that would be hugely impractical for doing math lol. Ugh
My computer died recently in the middle of working on the next TWST Monster AU drawing. Lost all progress on the drawing, but thankfully the writing is backed up on my phone. Since I did recently leave my job- due to being mistreated by said job- it may be a hot minute until I can do more Monster AU work until I get another computer (and I unfortunately game on this computer, meaning I won't settle for a computer that can't run my games so the next PC I get will be strong enough to run my games and cost me half my soul) or I get my ancient 10+ year old laptop to run my drawing software without making me want to throw it. Unfortunately, my garbage bin brain has a tendency to throw a fit and quit when I lose progress on something, so it may be a while until I feel like drawing those characters again (it was of Floyd and Jade) but I will still try to work on the Monster AU in the interim.
Note: I wanted to only use Monster AU art on my chapters, but I am happy to take fan-art (giving appropriate credit, of course) and use those for the pictures (since I recognize notifications based on the picture/art used) to post more chapters if anyone feels like tossing a few my way.
Man, it sucks not having a functional computer ...
I have no clue when the part I need to fix it will actually be shipped to me so I haven't been able to do digital art for quite some time. I could try learning procreate but Idk what is simple enough that you guys would still like to see me do...
AAAYYYY!!! Finally got the gaming rig back online! Spent a solid week trying to figure out what was wrong, searching down codes and guides and unsuccessfully updating drivers. Everything was pointing towards the network card not being connected, which is a serious issue since it's soldered to the motherboard.
But, I opened it up yesterday and gave it a good, thorough cleaning. I also made a couple small changes I've been wanting to make, like switching one of the GPU's VGA cables to another rail on the PSU and flipping the water block. During the initial build, the lines for the watercooler were just about pressing on the upper fans. I didn't realize until after the fact that the block can be rotated and the piece with the logo on it comes off to also rotate, so it's never upside down.
It'd been about a year since I built the rig, so it definitely needed a cleaning. Thankfully, I didn't wait so long that the dust had started to cake into it and it all just blew out without any need for brushes to knock it loose. Flipping the water block also gave me an opportunity to apply some fresh thermal paste, which it needed as the old stuff was looking a bit crusty and dry.
I'm not sure exactly why cleaning it worked, but I'm glad it did. I'm thinking maybe it just needed some time fully unplugged to reset some things (because computers are finicky as shit) or there was a piece of dust that happened to bridge the wrong gap. Either way, it's back up and running and cleaner than ever. And I didn't have to buy a new network card! :D
