“I can’t stop thinking about you, no matter how hard I try not to.”
Non-Sexual Flirty Starter Prompts Meme II Accepting
Yami had been working on a stack of forms that needed to be entered into the corporation database before 7am the following morning when he suddenly heard his phone buzzing across the surface of his desk. Out of sheer habit, he picked it up and answered it without looking at the screen. And when he heard a familiar voice on the other end, one he thought he would never hear from again, he nearly dropped the device out of shock.
It was his twin brother, Atem, who had called him. The last time the two of them spoke, they left on bad terms. Both were so angry and hurt that they had chosen to distance themselves from the other for a while. Who could blame them? With what had been brought to light, and the confliction being felt, it was probably a good thing that they had.
Earlier in the month, Atem had told him that there was something that he really needed to talk to him about, but he just didn’t know how to do it. So naturally, Yami suggested that he come to his home and the two could talk. For a majority of the night, Atem was his usual self and the two of them talked about anything that came to mind. However, after about an hour or so, his brother must have finally mustered up the courage to tell him what it was he had wanted to discuss. For when he spoke again, his tone and expression changed to one of apprehension mixed with endearment.
Then, Atem confessed that he was in love with Yami and said that he had felt that way for quite some time.
This news had shocked Yami and his immediate reaction was one that he was sure his brother hadn’t been expecting. For instead of remaining calm, Yami became angry and lashed out. Asking how could it have been possible for Atem to love him or how he could’ve possibly thought that it was ok? Naturally, the former monarch lashed back and the whole thing quickly escalated to fierce, vocal fight, resulting in Atem storming out the front door, his final words cutting deeply into Yami’s heart.
Once his brother was gone and the tension in the room disipated, Yami immediately regretted his reaction and collapsed on the couch, his heart shattering in his chest. His brother wasn’t alone in his feelings, for Yami felt the same way. He just didn’t know how to say it and had been keeping them buried for several millenia. When the two of them had lived in Ancient Egypt, Atem its powerful Pharaoh and he its regal Prince, they ruled their kingdom together and were loved by their people. Back then, Yami had fallen in love with Atem without even realizing he had, and when he had realized it, he did everything possible to keep it hidden. Because if Yami had made his feelings for his twin known, it would’ve been considered blasphemous. Even now in the modern times, a love such as this was highly frowned upon and with his brother being the CEO of Sennen Corporation, there was no way he could admit it! The reprecussions had the potential to be catastrophic, not only for their company, but for Atem as well. He didn’t care about what would happen to himself, but he couldn’t allow any kind of disrespect or back lash to happen to his twin.
As the days passed without a word from Atem, Yami began to think that he would never hear from him ever again. Why would he? With the way that he reacted, his brother had every right to never want to see or to speak to him again. So hearing his deep, calming voice on the other end of the line gave Yami a small glimmer of hope that he could fix things between them. Maybe even tell Atem the truth about his own feelings and clear the air.
Atem’s words tugged at his heart as tears started to well in his eyes. “Neither could I. Not for a second.” He said, his throat tight. “Listen....Atem, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t of said the things that I said that night. It was uncalled for and completely out of line. And...” He bit back his sadness, he needed to try to keep his voice calm no matter how emotional he became, “...they weren’t true. Not one word of it. And....if it’s even a possibility....I would like to fix things. Would it be possible for us to see each other? I feel our next conversation needs to be in person, not over the phone.”
“Please, shaqiq.” Yami pleaded, his voice still tight as he closed his eyes, waiting for his Atem’s response.
