matthew is the only child and has always wanted a sibling.
he has always felt an attraction to the same gender but he’s never known how to express it and always feels too guilty to admit it out loud. he doesn’t want to disappointment his family and the vision they have of him marrying a lovely young lady and starting a family with her. he is bisexual but he leans heavily towards the fellas.
his father left the family when he was ten years old. for some reason or another his mother and father didn’t get along, he never bothered to ask why they split. he would spend summers visiting roswell, new mexico where his father settled down by himself and opened up a funeral home business. in all honesty, he always found the funeral home (especially the morgue) to be creepy. but he didn’t mind helping his father, and he enjoyed spending time with him more than he found it all unsettling.Â
the older he got the harder it became to speak up about his attraction to guys. visiting roswell in the summer became something he began to look forward to more and more every year not only to see his father but because he had slowly become close friends with a boy who lived around roswell. with this boy he shared his first kiss in secrecy, his first crush on a guy, and his first heart ache. it wasn’t that things ended bad between the two it was just that when he turned fifteen he had to stop visiting roswell due to some things happening with his mother. he always wondered how his friend had ended up doing in the end though.Â
NOW: his mom passed away just recently (a couple months ago) and he’s slowly healing over the loss. he came to live with his father after the passing, for two months that is, it wasn’t long before matthew found a place to call his own. he has a roommate that he thinks is awesome now and he’s also discovered that he loves to cook! if you give him a chance he will happily cook you up a storm, especially anything with a little spice to it. he doesn’t have any intentions of taking over the funeral home, despite how insistent his father tries to be, but he doesn’t he mind helping out around the place. he does still find it unsettling but he’s also grown used to the feeling and tries to ignore it as much as possible. his heart is with the animals he cares for at puhlman ranch.
Simba loved spooky season. Halloween was not a thing in France, at least not when he was still living there, and he had some problems getting with it after moving to the United States, but as soon as he had kids: he understood. Or at least he felt like he did. He was rummaging through the dvd section of the appliances store, looking up at the first person he saw. “Quick, what’s the latest fun halloween movie to come out?” ( @roswellstarters​ )
admittedly, matthew enjoyed the christmas season over he halloween season more but he was always the type of person to get into any seasonal festivities. “the latest fun halloween movie?” he repeats, thinking out loud, tapping his chin with his left hands index fingers fingertip. “what type of fun are you looking for? lighthearted family friendly or terrifying adrenaline inducing fun? personally, i’m always a sucker for the classic slasher movies around spooky time. if i’m even more honest i think the original nightmare on elm street is more humorous than scary in all honesty. in one scene you can even see robert englund kind of struggling to run with the glove cause it used to be a bit heavy apparently.”
for this years halloween celebration mateo has taken inspiration from watching hocus pocus 2 and decided to be his favorite sweet, but evil, witch mary sanderson. @rocketfm
