Handsome Yoshino and Mahiro - Gosh her art back then 😻
Making me fall harder for them, and I thought buddy daddies is mess.
Hi, hello, hi :3 I've been lurking around your blog for a very long time now and let me just say, I absolutely adore you and this blog :3 So here are my questions~ Ieyasu ES raises some questions in my head ahhh. So we know he was kept hostage, but for the love of my life I can't imagine what happened during his childhood. Like, how was he treated? What could have turned a child into so calculating a man? WHAT WAS THE STANDARD HOSTAGE TREATMENT FOR THAT TIME??? WHY DID HE TURN OUT LIKE THIS???
Hello, Alice!
For Kenshin, see my other post! SPOILERS!
From what I understand, a hostage was given food, shelter and an education of some kind, and although well-treated (usually), could at any time be killed for whatever reason. A male heir was the most valuable.
Ieyasu’s father, upon hearing that the Oda threatened to kill his son, said to go ahead and do it, without hesitation, so that gives us an idea of Ieyasu’s life even before he became a hostage.
According to Tadatsugu, who has been around Ieyasu since he was an infant, his own family treated him poorly, so Ieyasu has been getting it from all sides since he was about six years old:
Ieyasu’s mother, on the other hand, was described positively:
I don’t remember, off the tip of my brain, the game mentioning Ieyasu’s siblings.
We do know that Ieyasu was a sensitive child who cried frequently, same as Masamune.
Depending on which location he was kept hostage in, Ieyasu’s ability to even go outside was restricted. With the Oda, Ieyasu was described as climbing trees and chasing Nobunaga through the mountains, back when they were Takechiyo (Ieyasu) and Kipposhi (Nobunaga). Ieyasu’s time spent with the Imagawa appears to be where he was kept indoors almost exclusively:

First of all, imma need more of this, please and thank you:
Second, I can’t tell you how much I missed my husbands trying desperately to murder each other verbally:
Wish Upon the Star: Ieyasu
I think this is the sweetest I’ve seen Yasu be in an event story! When I was playing before, they would often make him so cantankerous and off-putting that people were afraid to do his main route.
This also made me smile:
So smart and so clueless at the same time
The Sanada Ten Braves risking their lives to clear a path for Yukimura made me tear up:
Even little Sasuke 😭:
Would you mind explaining Yukimura's relationship with his mother/her memory?
Hello, Precious!
Masayuki, Yukimura’s father, has explained that although Yukimura knows that he had nothing to do with his mother’s death, he chooses to believe and behave as if he directly caused it, simply by being born.
Masayuki goes on to say that he and others (in particular Nobuyuki, and the maids, but probably Saizō and Shingen, too) have told Yukimura over and over that his mother giving birth to him is not what led her to be sick in any way.
Yukimura’s mother died when he was 5 years old, and his birth is not in any way related to his mother’s illness:
It is only a coincidence that she became ill:
Which is what his family’s been trying to tell him for years, before giving up and just letting him think what he wants:
Yukimura’s unnecessary Oedipus complex is unnecessary:
Yukimura’s famous long red headband was made by his mother. They would recite a prayer every time he put it on.
The meaning of his mother’s prayer gets muddled:

Something that's been on my mind regarding Aizen and Ichigo's interactions so I'm throwing it out: Why I think Aizen never used his shikai against Ichigo and what that says about his ulterior motive.
For starters, we have to answer the question as to why Aizen molded and formed Ichigo. Like Aizen said, he knew about Ichigo since before he was born. Aizen was intrigued by the immense power that is gained from hybrid beings, hence why he was so focussed on working and experimenting with the Hōgyoku. Isshin and Masaki were an unexpected but welcome surprise, and in old fashioned Aizen fashion, he adapted and observed. We all know what happened next since Aizen was so kind to narrate it for us, but he spent the next years monitoring Ichigo, and eventually actively forming him. Setting up the battles to push Ichigo to his limits, to slowly but surely become stronger.
I'm convinced that Aizen would have been disappointed if Ichigo died (which he almost did a couple of times) but at the same time something tells me he had faith that wouldn't happen. Despite putting him in life-threatening situations, he never made an active attempt to kill Ichigo, always leaving some window of opportunity, because he wanted to see how far Ichigo could evolve. Even after defeating Urahara and Isshin, and Ichigo seemed to be at his limits, he still stopped Gin when he made an attempt to finish Ichigo off. He still had hope for Ichigo to grow.
To be clear, he did not do this because he cared about Ichigo's well-being, but because Ichigo is the perfect counterpart. He is the perfect blend of Human, Soul Reaper, Quincy and Hollow. He is the counterweight and closest to an equal powerful force to challenge Aizen's own power. And Aizen wanted to have that, hence why he made sure to keep it around.
Like he explained to Gin, fear is necessary for evolution. Feeling and experiencing fear is a requirement for him to evolve even further and become stronger himself. Interestingly, this counters Urahara's view on fear, which he explained when training Ichigo in the beginning. According to him, "nothing comes from fear." He actively encourages Ichigo to not acknowledge fear in battles at all.
Whoever is right is up for another debate, (or a matter of personal preference) but what it boils down to for Aizen is that in the end, he firmly believes that anything or anyone powerful should experience fear. And the reason for this is that power in itself should never remain stable. We still don't know Aizen's complete motives, but what is clear is that he refuses to bow down to the everlasting reign of the Soul King. That he firmly believes the position of Soul King, the palace, Squad Zero, all of it, should be challenged. That they should feel fear, and he hates the fact that nobody takes up that role.
We do get hints that Aizen himself doesn't just want to overthrow that reign, but also wants to take over the place of the Soul King himself. And even though Aizen is an arrogant power hungry bastard, he is not a hypocrite, because he makes sure that his own power is actively challenged as well. Whether that's by empowering Ichigo, keeping Gin close despite suspecting betrayal and never asking anyone to trust him, he makes sure his power is never stagnant.
And because of all that, he also does not use his Shikai against Ichigo. Using his Shikai would mean an immediate advantage, and the challenge that Ichigo provides would be significantly lower. Ergo his power will be unchallenged. It's a strategic move, all crafted according to his own plan. He wants Ichigo at his fullest potential, unhindered. So that he himself will evolve without hindrance as well. To stand at the top himself.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi, and me having a very questionable inspiration and role model
One often finds comfort and inspiration in things one would have never imagined would cover that role.
That is what is happening with me and Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
I like Mayuri, aside from the weirdness of his looks and his glee and all the other stuff, his "villain but the good guys made him work for them", because he is a sort of power fantasy for me, and I have only now realized it.
Hear me out.
He is gender non conforming. He has people's lives on his hands and NO ONE has HIS life in their hands: he cannot be controlled, they can criticize him but it bounces right off and he WINS. He has people following him and helping him in his endeavors, good or bad.
I… Do not really have that irl. I am somewhat gnc (mullerian, I do not shave and do not wear make up, I want to start dressing in a more masculine way) but I feel society's judgment on me. I would like to be crass and have my opinion receive credit every now and then, but simply because I try to set my foot down and say "this is my opinion and I want it to be seen as relevant instead of being cast off as a hysterical girl's rant" I am derided and made fun of, considered someone who overreacts. I do not have followers, I am a follower because I do not want to be left alone and do not have enough self confidence to BE alone and independent because I have been made to think my thoughts are too extreme.
But he does not have these issues. He came out of the jungle unscathed. He is the poisonous frog and snake. He can be dangerous and people respect him and let him do what he wishes. He is independent and does not give a rat's ass about what others think.
Is he a bad person? Yup. I would never do human experimentation in real life, but I do feel like I am a specimen sometimes.
Did he ever feel like that too? Did he ever feel like "showing them" and making them become his science projects instead? So that they would regret making him feel wrong and disgusting?
Idk man. Idk. He is morally VERY questionable but there are a lot of things he has which I wish I had.
I think I get why he hates Urahara, too. Urahara, in Mayuri's eyes, must have seen him as his very own "side project", like, "let's see how these criminals do in my division"… And Mayuri is probably right in his assessment of Urahara's wit. I like Urahara but the man is calculating. And so Mayuri must have realized how Urahara might have actually felt about his promise to Mayuri that he would inherit the 12fth Division as Captain. Mayuri must have had doubts that Urahara even saw him as smart enough to do it. Because, again, Mayuri HAD noticed Urahara saw him as a science project, a specimen to observe. It must have made him so mad. I have suddenly realized why there could have been beef between these two.
Just… The humanity of Mayuri, folks. Hidden in the details. And this feels cathartic, this method of telling us Mayuri's insecurities. Because I also fear people see me as ghoulish, and only as an SJW asshole, just like they could have perceived Mayuri as a freak that needed to be put in Maggot's Nest. And just that. Nothing more than that. But Mayuri helps Soul Society anyway. There's a nice taste to it for him nowadays. Because people HAVE to rely on him. They HAVE to rely on the genius of someone reprehensible and eccentric. It felt so fucking weird to realize all this but now that I have seen this side of him I cannot go back. He is the child that was unloved by the village but he chose not only to lit it on fire, but to rebuild it how he wished, and aware that everyone now depended on him. He does not need the village's burning remains to feel warmth. He does not want that warmth, he wants the village to suffer and grovel at his feet for help first and foremost. And I suddenly understand why. Damn. I just needed to vent I guess? About this side of him. I finally get why he helps Soul Society even though he holds no being in the worlds, aside from himself and his creations probably, on a pedestal.
Also this pride month I am not feeling too well so… Yeah. Thinking ab Mayuri being gnc and having to struggle in his early years is sending me down a rabbit hole.
Now you may be seeing something right? FGT Ichigo looks kinda a lot like Yhwach.
Now we know Ichigo is a Quincy and all Quincy have Yhwach's blood running in their veins but only Ichigo looks like him to this extent when in his Final Getsuga Tensho.
Both have long dark hair.
Red crimson eyes.
And a handsome fac-
Ahem, I mean this leads me to believe that Ichigo may have been using his Quincy powers while in that state. Hey look, this is just a theory and Kubo may have just thought it's a cool design choice before the Yhwach twist and all but just let me have fun with this one okay!
Now what is Final Getsuga Tensho specifically? Some believe it's Ichigo absorbing all of Zangetsu's powers but I disagree. I think FGT is more of a fusion between them. Getsuga Tensho is a technique using Zangetsu's powers and only Ichigo can call upon the technique, it cannot be used by Zangetsu without its wielder or Ichigo without his weapon. And my proof is this line by Ichigo:
He is fighting with Zangetsu, not using him.
And there's also the fact that Zangetsu was literally fused to his hand.
Now then that we established that, let's get to this point.
Final Getsuga Tensho is not just a final technique. It's also a combination of all of Ichigo's powers. Both Shinigami, Hollow and Quincy. And why is that?
When Ichigo was fighting Zangetsu he was fighting both his Quincy (in Young lad Zangetsu) Hollow/Shinigami (In white Ichigo) in a fused state. And achieving FGT is him basically accepting both powers, and making himself a weapon for a short time, becoming Getsuga itself.
Heck we talked about his design resembling Yhwach why not talk about how his design resembles a Hollow in how the mask wraps around half of his face with little teeth and how the black spirit energy is like his Tensa Zangetsu's Getsuga Tensho (shinigami power) only strengthening my thought about it not just being a final technique/attack but a fusion of all of his powers, both mastered and latent (which is why Ishinn had Ichigo do it, not him. His wouldn't probably match Aizen)
And the nail in the coffin is what Aizen says here.
Aizen here is beyond Quincy, Shinigamis, Hollows and humans, no one can stand up to him. He's on a higher plane than all beings except Ichigo. Who overpowered him with ease, who's on a higher plane than he is.
There's only one being that can be on a higher plane than the Quincy,Hollows,Shinigami:
Yhwach, the Quincy King, the Almighty. He's the only one who could over power aizen that much and without even trying.
Now I am not saying that Ichigo is somehow using the Almighty powers, that's stupid. I am saying that he was using his Quincy powers which are from Yhwach himself. Fusing it with his other abilities to make Aizen look like a joke.
And even then, FGT is probably just an imperfect version of Ichigo's final form he used against Yhwach. Because FGT is used when Ichigo didn't fully realize and unlock his Quincy powers/Blood. And that it's a one shot weapon where he can use it only once and lose all his powers after whereas his final form where he realizes and mastered all of his powers he uses to its fullest potential and doesn't just disappear.
And that it looked like how Zangetsu looks like when he was fighting him for the Final Getsuga Tensho.
And all of this leads me to believe that Ichigo was using his Quincy powers there and that's how he overpowered Aizen that easily, especially in base.
TL;DR FGT is just an imperfect Final form that Ichigo uses against Yhwach in chapter 676.
Good night or Good morning 👍.

ppl trying to frame art as something thats been historically a "privilege" restricted to the upper classes pisses me off saur much..... when you have no idea what youre fucking talking about ❤️
the way ppl like to envision working/lower class people (or even just... ppl living outside those dynamics) throughout history as like.... eternally miserable illiterate idiots that only know eating gruel and dying of the plague is fucking infuriating. people sang songs, told stories, wove fabrics, embroidered, knitted, decorated their homes, their places of worship, their tools, their food, their clothes, their hair, their bodies, for thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years. everyone, throughout all of human existence, loved art. created art.
some of you unironically talk like 18th century colonialists but with the labels scratched off.
like. you may be stupid
Not to mention the idea of a starving artist being so well known its a cliché. The people who MAKE art aren't typically the upper crust. Like Van Gogh was not a rich man no matter how much his stuff is worth now.
Why I Like Megumi's Character - an unnecessarily long explanation
I was initially drawn to his role in the show because I relate to him so much. He is incredibly judgmental, viewing people purely by their actions as we see below:
In season one he explains his motivation: "I hate bad people. They act so damn superior when their empathy and imagination are as empty as a vacant shell."
He immediately follows this with, "I can't deal with good people either because they forgive those bad people and they view the act of forgiveness as a noble thing. Makes me wanna vomit."
While I do not believe in the idea of "good" or "bad" people, I can agree with the sentiment that humans simply are what they do. There is no deeper "person" below the actions they take. I believe forgiveness is the only real way to move on from things, even so, I find it incredibly challenging to forgive those who have harmed others by their actions.
"The dog that weeps after it kills is no better than the dog that doesn’t." That is to say, your guilt will not purify you.
As I get older I have learned again and again that not everybody has the same moral expectations that you may hold for yourself, and if you expect goodness from others, you will undoubtedly be let down. Not matter how much goodness you give out.
Next, though her convictions upset him, Megumi loves his sister deeply.
Tsumiki is Megumi's example of a quintessential "good person", he dislikes her eagerness to forgive those who have done wrong, in fact, her compassion upsets him. Even so, he recognizes her as a person he greatly loves.
As someone who is blessed to be surrounded by kind-hearted people. I am, on occasion, revolted by the actions they let slide by those around them. Though I view their laissez-faire attitude as rather pathetic, I can still recognize they are a better person than I.
Megumi does not try to be like anyone but himself. Though he disagrees with Yuuji, he still recognizes the goodness in him and I believe that at times, he wishes to be more like the other boy.
