Jumin was pleased. No one at C&R had acknowledged that his birthday was today. The only thing that showed any sign of the day was the small watch box sitting on his work desk. He liked to believe that his father had picked it out instead of his secretary. He secured it around his wrist as if it made the thought any more true.
Otherwise his day continued as normal, filled with paperwork and meetings and in general things that Jaehee came up with to keep him thinking up any new cat ideas. Little did she know about the small notebook in his top desk drawer.
So when he arrived home later that night, he had thought everything had gone the way he wanted. But then his security wouldn’t let him in.
“The lady of the house has requested that you stay out until she is ready.” The guard told him hesitantly, unsure of what would be worse, disagreeing with his boss, or his boss’s wife.
“Will you at least tell me what she’s doing that is so important to lock me out of my own home?” Jumin asked. The guard stiffened slightly, but didn’t speak. Jumin sighed roughly. The guard was taking her side in this situation, and Jumin decided that the best thing he could do at the moment was wait.
Thankfully, his wait was only a matter of minutes. The guard touched is earpiece and smiled at Jumin as he stepped out of the way.
“You can go in now, sir.” Jumin nodded at him, but gave him no other acknowledgement as he headed toward the penthouse.
He hesitated slightly at their door. What could she be doing that had her ban him from their home. Jumin took a deep breath, and opened that door.
“Surprise!” Jumin blinked. She was standing there, grinning widely while holding Elizabeth the 3rd, both wearing matching party hats as the rest of the room was decorated with streamers and other party accouterments.
“…A birthday party?” Jumin asked and her smile wavered slightly. She gently set Elizabeth down so she could reach up and fiddle with part of her bangs.
“I know you said you didn’t want a party this year, but I figured that if it was just the three of us, it wouldn’t be so bad.” She explained, and her smile returned in strength “I promise I won’t set anything on fire. And I personally don’t think the presents are so bad.”
“Oh really?” Jumin asked, small grin appearing on his face. While she’d heard the story of his last party, but wanted to celebrate him in her own way. He walked closer to her, wrapping an arm around her waist. She giggled as he pulled her closer, and reached up to touch the tag on her shoulder that he hadn’t noticed before.
I’m Your Gift! Jumin grinned widely, and began to press kisses to her neck.
“Oh are you?” He asked, lips still pressed against her.
“Don’t you want your cake first?” She asked, voice shuddering as he began to move up her jaw line.
He suddenly scooped her up, and she laughed, nuzzling her nose into his cheek. He responded as he carried her back into his bedroom.
“How could I want anything else when you’re so sweet?”
