Mystic Messenger 10th Anniversary Zine Project

To commemorate Mysme's 10th anniversary, our team is making a digital zine to celebrate the game and characters and to thank Cheritz. The zine will be completely free for all MCs to enjoy; but it will also be a compilation of art and stories that will be sent to Cheritz within the year.

• Zine Title: After Party • Theme: Where are they now? (years after the game end) • Accepted pieces: Fanart, fanfics • Number of pieces (maximum): 4 pages/2 spreads for artists; 2 fics of 5000 words for writers | +1 piece for collaborations

Submitting 1 piece is also okay!

• Deadline for all submissions: August 30, 2026 • Pieces will all be SFW only.

Please note that we will be closing invitations for the zine on June 17, Wednesday.

I bring sort of a 'peasants of the past were not as debased,uneducated and dirty as a lot of pesudo-medieval fiction makes them out to be but this new wave of attempting to sweep the very real indentured servitude, corporal ownership, poverty and lack of basic human rights under the rug isn't achieving what you think it's achieving' vibe to the party that people don't really like

Very right! The common folk were your artesans, your soap makers, your weavers, your bakers, your builders, your carpenters, your blacksmiths, couriers, writers, farmers, butchers, apothecaries, metal workers, inventors, carriage builders, food preservers, candle makers, tailors, fishers, net makers, boat builders, etc.

Many, if not all, these jobs require skilled labor. Many require some specialized maths, writing, measuring, weighing, techinical knowledge, soil knowledge, animal husbandry, chemistry, etc.

Even if the commoners and lower class didn't always get a formal education, they DID get an education in the field they were worked in, and knew how to apply skills and knowledge to their trade.
