BASICS:

Mateo comes from a powerful mafia family living in Madrid, Spain.  He’s the eldest son, heir to the throne, but wants no part in the business so is contesting it every opportunity he gets.  Still, family is family, and as a doctor he’s very useful when they come home bleeding and in need of medical attention, so although he wants no part in his families business he can’t help but be there for him when they need his help.

He is at the haus making zero money all because there’s a hit out on him, and the family cut a deal with the Kings offering “protection” while they got a doctor, free of charge.  They figured they got the better deal, and honestly Mateo doesn’t mind not earning a paycheck for all that he does.  He’s just happy to be walking around without a target on his back (he’s no longer safe outside of the haus until something is done to call the hit off).

He has been at the haus for two months and once the position opened up to take on chief of the medical staff he jumped at the opportunity.  He loves his work, is always offering to help someone in need, and thinks there are no silly questions when it comes to ones health.

He’s a fairly decent guy when it comes to his personality.  He wants to help anyone that he can, and aims to show people that although his name is connected to his family that he’s as far detached from them as possible.  He knows that people look at him different because of which family he belongs to, but he’ll try everything in his power to show them that he’s not like them (granted there might be times when his true Rafael nature emerges if/when he’s put into an uncomfortable situation).

He’s verse, absolutely loves sex, and is fine with no attachments.  He does pick favorites, and he can wear his heart on his sleeve at times when caught off guard by someone who he lets close.  He’s a lover, not a fighter, and will try to avoid confrontation (even if it means trying to seduce the argument right out of someone).  He can have a bit of a hidden temper so tries to stay as calm and subdued as possible as to not set off any alarms.

He bit down on his lip, hiding the smirk that appeared after hearing Mateo laugh at the cheesy line. It was always a goal of his to get the doctor to laugh every time they were together. His laugh was infectious and it was something that the lifeguard enjoyed. Nev sucked n his breath when feeling Mateo at his entrance, reaching out to brace himself against the table before him. "Fuck--" he grunted, wincing at the slight pain before letting out a low groan when feeling him bury himself inside of him. Turning his head, lips searching for Mateo's. This was not how Mateo had originally pictured his night going, but who was he to deny himself such pleasure when Nevada was literally just begging for him? Damn, the way Nevada actually began to beg had Mateo practically throbbing against the others ass. It was really all about the anticipation, wasn’t it? Unsure what was gonna happen next, the excitement of enjoying new company. Roman hopped around from one place to the next so quickly, he’d become accustomed to starting over, again and again, learning to appreciate spontaneity. He was quick to undress, choosing a black strappy outfit that showed off all his best assets, framing them in the best way to make an impact as he stepped back into the room after pulling on his thigh highs. “Find anything you like?” Roman placed a hand on his hip while watching the other man’s back.

He nodded when the other mentioned the mini bar, thankful that he wouldn't keep him waiting for too long, figuring it wouldn't hurt to go and get himself a drink while he waited. He looked through what the other had in the fridge and settled on a small nip of whiskey, not really wanting to drink too much, but still it was enough to wet his whistle and would be perfect while he waited. He opened the nip, hand placed on the counter as he took that first drink, finishing the small bottle with ease as he twisted the cap back on. Damn, that definitely hit the spot, though he hadn't expected the other to be back so soon.

He waved the bottle at his side to show the nip that he had taken, turning so that he could finally see him, his eyes trailing over the other males body in all of it's divinity, a smirk stretching across his lips as he stepped towards the other male. "Damn," he muttered, shaking his head as he reached for the others arm to pull him closer, helping him do a little spin infront of him so he could take in all the sights. "You're fucking gorgeous," he muttered, unable to help himself as his hand ran down the length of the others torso, leaning forward to press their lips together just wanting a taste. Whether the air had changed, making it seem like there was more smoke coming from Angel's lips, or whether he was genuinely breathing that much heavier into his cigarette, he liked to pretend it wasn't completely obvious, but his breathing had quickened, his pulse now racing twice as fast as it had been a simple few seconds ago. This was like New Years Eve all over again, with the red glow taking over Angel's vision not induced by fireworks or sunsets, but the anger that still boiled so strongly at the surface. This man killed his brother, not outright, but he was as guilty as the rest of them.

"It would not have mattered if you fought back or not," Angel spoke with as much calm as he could muster, but the rage caused his voice to waver, "you still would have lost." Angel was confident about that. He'd had the element of surprise on his side, and Mateo's position to fight back or not was irrelevant. But Angel had squandered his opportunity, maybe for the better; what had been done to Mateo had been done back to him. Death of Mateo would have lead to death of Angel at the hands of the Kings no doubt, and throwing his family into another war with another family was not an option. He quirked a brow when Angel had mentioned that it wouldn't have mattered, that whether he'd have fought back or not he still would have lost, wanting desperately to counter that argument with one of his own, but really where would that even get them? The fact of the matter was he was only a staff member on the island, and Angel was here as a guest. He could argue until he was blue in the face that he personally hadn't had anything to do with his brothers demise, but knew knew that his blood ties meant he was just as much guilty as any other Rafael. When games were brought up he couldn't help but again curiously gaze in the others direction, "I didn't take you as a man who liked playing games. How...juvenile," of course he knew that the games the other was referring to definitely weren't using a board or cards, but still he couldn't help but question what he'd be getting himself into.

The other man was attractive, of course he had to be gorgeous, an angel of death that would come to take his life away at any given moment. He was under the others thumb, whether he liked to admit it or not, this fucking man had him dead to rights and as soon as he left the comfort of the islands he would end up dead. Elian chuckled softly at Mateo's words. It was mean of him to wake him when he was sleeping so peacefully but he just couldn't help himself. "I have to get up soon to get ready for work." The older nearly pouted at the idea, leaning into the kiss on his cheek. His hand moved across Mateo's chest and then down along his stomach, slowly drifting across the lines of his muscles. Elian never imagined when they were friends before that he would ever find himself in this place, waking up in Mateo's bed. "But you can go back to sleep if you like." He whispered softly against his skin, his voice always gentle. But despite those words, his hand continued to drift lower, reaching one of his hips, floating across his waistline. What a damn tease Elian was and Mateo was LIVING for it, and if he thought that going back to sleep now would be as easy as closing his eyes? Well, the older man definitely had lost his damn mind if he'd thought sleep was even a thought on his mind anymore. He let out a soft breath as the others hand ghosted over his skin, his muscles twitching underneath his fingertips as he brushed across a ticklish spot, a soft chuckle escaping as he watched that hand as it found it's way to his waistline. "How much longer do I have you for?" He would have to take advantage of every last second he could muster with the other - taking his hand to give the others wrist a soft tug towards his body, rolling his hips upwards so the other could feel him beneath his fingertips, hoping to urge him to take matters a little more into his hands so to speak. Something about the beach here felt different than the ones Angel would frequent at home. The sand felt softer, the sun just that little bit warmer, the whole atmosphere a little more relaxing despite the antics going on in the building behind him. Maybe because the suffocating pressure of family responsibilities wasn't immediately looming over him, and maybe he was beginning to see why Mateo had chosen this place over anywhere else to come and hide. It really was the best vacation destination, and he took a long drag of his cigarette as he looked out over the water.

Just as his thoughts seemed to wander momentarily from Mateo, bliss and serenity basking over him like the sun itself, he felt the presence of someone approaching, the soft sound of feet padding through sand in his direction, and he turned, face to face once again with the man that had caused his family so much pain. Just like that, all the anger he'd tried to suppress for the sake of being allowed to remain here, seemed to bubble and resurface, and Angel felt lucky the cigarette was between his lips, otherwise he might have crushed it in the palm of his fist. "I find that hard to believe, considering I was invited back. But perhaps it is you with the balls, approaching me considering how last time ended for you."

He should have turned around and left before the other had even seen him, but like a damn moth to a flame he just couldn't bring himself to do it. He'd thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, deceiving him in some way, and yet when they were close enough - when he was finally noticed - he did nothing more than stare into the eyes of the one man who wanted him dead more than anyone in the world. He thought back to his conversation with Thomas, the owner of the resort had told him it'd been taken care of, but why did Mateo assume that meant that he'd been killed and fed to pigs for a midnight snack? That's usually what taking care of it meant in his family, not so much the pigs, but there was a running gag about them around the haus that Mateo sometimes got a kick out of himself.

Hearing that word, invited, had him scoffing as he should have known - money probably spoke more than anything to the King brothers, and it didn't matter security of their staff members. Granted, this man also couldn't be stupid enough to fuck with him on the King's property, so perhaps keeping his enemy close was the best he could do? He figured being here meant he was safe, or at least in some twisted sense of the word. "Last time I wasn't aware that I could fight back," a smirk grew at the corner of his lips, again remembering the conversation with Thomas where he told him not to let anyone take advantage of him like that. "You won't be so lucky next time," he warned the other, knowing that he shouldn't be threatening a client like this, but fuck if he was going to let Angel walk all over him again. Now that he knew that there was a line that once the clients crossed it things were fair game? "No more playing your games, Angel," saying the others name with a venomous undertone. Big talk for a staff member though who's purpose on the island was to play whatever games the clients wanted, but at least he could pretend right?

Mateo had a later shift tonight, thankful that Elian had taken the morning shift, so for once (in what seemed like forever) Mateo actually got to enjoy the island during the daytime. He figured he'd start on the beach, going for a run because with weather as beautiful as this he didn't see the point in cardio inside, and then after that he'd probably stop somewhere for food before having to head back to his cabin to get ready for his shift. Running on the beach was so calming for him, his feet hitting the sand with such precise force pushing his body forward, opting for only a navy blue pair of swim trunks because who the hell needed clothes aside from that when working up a sweat. He'd been running for a while though, sweat glistening all over his body, as he decided it was time to take a breather and just walk for a bit. That's when his eyes saw him, or at least the ghost of him because Thomas had told him he'd been taken care of. In Mateo's family that usually meant he would no longer be an issue because he was no longer breathing, so why the man was now standing there on the beach like nothing had happened to him was beyond the doctor. He almost thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, so stupidly he walked towards the ghost, a chuckle forming when they were close enough for Mateo to know for certain that he was no ghost at all, and now like an idiot he stood practically before him without being able to get away smoothly. "You've got balls showing up on the island," he warned the other.

Mike typically wasn't all that interested in the gossip around and what people were saying or thinking about him. But, for some reason, he was genuinely curious about it. Probably because he recognized it was entirely bizarre that he wasn't there for sex (at the moment). The men on the island probably didn't know what to do with that and they just had to discuss it. He couldn't blame them for that. Turning his gaze towards Mateo, he smiled a bit and he glanced down towards the sand, softly chewing on his lower lip, "They don't try." Mike admitted, "Some of the staff are very...headstrong about it." That was the nicest way to put it.

He smiled again at Mateo's comment before his brow raised a bit, "Really?" That was surprising to him. He assumed that all the staff members there were highly sex driven. It sort of came with the territory, didn't it? "I'm glad to have someone to talk to." Mike admitted with a nod, "Hate to say I get lonely sometimes but--" He shrugged. It was something that he could easily fix but he didn't particularly like bothering people just to chat with him. "So, it is nice to have you here." “I don’t even really know if they know how to try,” he chuckled as he thought about the staff he had came into contact with, how they were so eager to help him in whatever way he may have needed it. “I guess when the entire premise of this place is the sex they really don’t see a point in anything else,” granted they had came to the island for different reasons than he had, so they definitely behaved differently in a sense. “Don’t get me wrong, I like sex just as much as the rest of them, but that’s not my soul purpose for being here,” he shrugged, knowing that his safety was what brought him here, but position of head of staff at the medical wing was what was keeping him.

He nodded as the other mentioned being lonely, oh did Mateo know all about that, “you’re lucky enough that when you get too home sick you can just leave, head home for a while, come back when you feel like it. You’re not stuck here,” not like he was, and it wasn’t even just a matter of being contracted to the haus. Those would be easy to get out of, but his reasoning was so much more involved, “you always sell yourself short like this?” He asked, listening to the other talk about how he wasn’t all that interesting. “I’ll leave if you want me to, but as far as more interesting people, around here it’s hard to pick and choose who’s the most interesting.”

Nothing could possibly be better in Elian’s mind than waking up here. It was a somewhat rare occurrence that he would fall asleep and wake up with Mateo still in bed with him. With both of them being staff, and both of them being doctors, they were in pretty high demand. That’s why mornings like this were so special. The sun was just barely peeking through the window when Elian turned over to face the other man, pressing a kiss to his chest, to his collarbone. “Good morning.” He said softly. He should have let Mateo sleep, but he couldn’t help himself. He wanted his attention.

On nights when Elian slept over Mateo usually got the best nights sleep. There was just something about having the other so close to him, his home on the island, that put both his mind and body at ease. Granted, he was sleeping so beautifully when he felt an intrusion in the form of such a soft and tender kiss. He peaked an eye open, a grin forming as he could somewhat see Elian coming into focus, his hand coming up to brush through the others hair. "I could have used another few hours of sleep," he teased, though was never upset when Elian had other ideas. "Morning," he pulled the other closer so that he could give him a kiss on the cheek, afraid he might have morning breath.

His head tilted a bit when the other mentioned the playrooms. Mike hadn't even ventured there but he had definitely heard about them. He had a sneaking suspicion that going in those rooms would trigger him from his last time undercover and that wasn't something Mike was, particularly, looking to endure. Plus, how embarrassing would that be? Having a full blown panic attack in a kink room? No thanks. "That makes sense." He said softly with a nod of his head, "Those didn't even cross my mind." Mike admitted with a chuckle, "I hope it's no more than that." He quickly added in there. Mike, being the pessimist he was, could name a million things that could and would go wrong in those rooms.

Turning his gaze towards Mateo, he smiled just a bit and nodded his head, "It is nice." He commented sincerely. Mike didn't think he was going to enjoy wandering around the beach as much as he did. He wasn't expecting to hear Mateo's next question and it actually got a laugh out of Mike, "Wow." He spoke with a shake of his head, "I suppose I have a reputation?" Mike asked with a raise of his brow. He could see the men having a bet about who could get Mike to cave first... Hilarious. "Um...I don't know. Maybe four?" He shrugged his shoulders, "Did you expect more or less?" Mike asked with a chuckle, "I'm surprised anyone approached me at all, to be frank."

"Eh," he shrugged his shoulders as he thought of the few more severe injuries that had occurred while in one of those rooms, though he definitely didn't feel like bringing the few incidents up because some things were better left unsaid. "I'd say overall we're not doing too bad, i've only had to have them transported to the hospital once I think, since I have taken over as chief of staff? That was back in Virginia, not really sure how that would work around here," it's not like he could do full blown surgery while here, but luckily he hadn't seen anything too serious while here on the island.

When he heard the other laugh he couldn't help but chuckle himself. He really did enjoy when he could see the other let loose a little and have a good time, and considering he was always so serious when Mateo had seen them - well hearing his laughter was actually quite endearing. "Honestly?" He shrugged his shoulders, "you're attractive, got this mysterious vibe about you, so i'd have thought more would have flocked your way in hopes of wearing you down." He was glad that he'd at least gotten a few minutes alone with the other man though, it was just nice getting to hang out with someone knowing that sex wasn't going to be on the table. "As much as it probably drives everyone else mad, I find it kind of refreshing, I enjoy a good conversation just as much as I enjoy sex." Alright, so maybe not that much, but enough.
