(I follow along to such a sweet, comforting song)
じきに終わる愚鈍な声と頭の中にある現象
(jiki ni owaru gudonna koe to atama no naka ni aru genshou)
(Something occurs inside of my stupid, faltering voice and head)
不毛なままの疑いの目も全部
(fumouna mama no utagai no me mo zenbu)
(With all of these pointless, distrustful looks,)
好きにはなれなくて困るね
(suki ni wa narenakutekomaru ne)
(I'm miserable because no one will ever be able to love me.)
生き続ければ嘘は増えて
(ikitsudzukereba uso wa fuete)
(If I were to stay alive, these lies would grow;)
それでも明日を夢見る

(But even so, I would still dream of tomorrow.)
「蒙昧」の意味を知る賢者がまた人知れず首を括っている

(Both the wise who knew of "ignorance" and even those who did not have hung themselves)
彷徨い続けている

(I'm still wandering around aimlessly;)
「瞳が潰されて駄目になっても、それで良いと思うわ。」
("hitomi ga tsubusarete dame ni nattemo, sorede ii to omou wa")
("Even if my eye is completely destroyed, I think it's okay like this!")
そして彼らの理不尽な世界を独りでにまた行こう
(soshite karera no rifujinna sekai wo hitoride ni mata ikou)
(And so, I'll journey throughout their absurd world by myself.)
雨の降る街に群れる唐傘と河童には
(ame no furu machi ni mureru karakasa to kappa ni wa)
(The paper umbrellas and kappa that crowd this rainy city;)
「花の様な誇らしい生き方」なんて言う
("hana no you na hokorashii ikikata" nante iu)
(I say something like, "They live such proud lives, just like flowers")
耳障りの良い言葉は似合わない
(mimizawari no ii kotoba wa niawanai)
(But my comforting words just don't sound right.)
仕舞いには私も「不要」と切り捨てで行く世界に
(shimai ni wa watashi mo "fuyou" to kirisute de iku sekai ni)
(In the end, I am also called "unnecessary" and abandoned by the passing world.)
幾ばくかの思いも許されなくて
(ikubakuka no omoi mo yurusarenakute)
(Even the few wishes I have are not allowed)
不可解にただ繋がれている
(fukakai ni tada tsunagareteiru)
(But inexplicably, we're still connected together)
誰もが同じ路傍の石と気付かず明日を夢見る
(daremo ga onaji robou no ishi to kidzukazu ashita wo yumemiru)
(Without realizing that they are all just pebbles on the side of the road, everyone dreams of tomorrow.)
「蒙昧」の文字が書けないままではいつまでも夜は明けないさ
("moumai" no moji ga kakenai mama de wa itsumademo yoru wa akenai sa)
(As they are unable to even spell the word "ignorance,"
the dawn of this night will never come.)
戸惑い続けている
(tomadoitsudzuketeiru)
(I'm still hopelessly confused;)
「瞳を潰しても見える世界はずっと変わらないのね。」
("hitomi wo tsubushitemo mieru sekai wa zutto kawaranai no ne")
("Even if I destroy my eye, the world I see will never change, won't it?")
そして彼らの品性の無ささえも受け止めてただ嗤おう
(soshite karera no hinsei no nasa sae mo uketomete tada waraou)
(And so, let's just accept their amorality and laugh!)
