It is a great honor for me to have you visit my website! I am Maeda Matsu, wife of Maeda Toshiie, and aunt of that vagabond Keiji. Seeing as how the wayward men of my household have decided to participate in these festivities, I have taken it upon myself to follow them and keep a watchful (but loving!) eye upon them. [Matsu took a seat on the veranda, and looked out at the scenery. It was so peaceful at home these days; the memories of war were fading, and their people were well. Yet...she was unsatisfied.

Perhaps it was because everything was so still now; though there had been hard times past, there was also liveliness. Though she cherished the days she had now, she missed those happy moments that pierced through the dark days. Those were the moments she loved the most.]

Aaah--what am I doing, thinking of nothing but complaints? I can't be getting old so quickly!

How have you been these days? I’m sure Toshiie is as hungry as ever. His hunger is almost legendary.

Oh, things have been blissfully peaceful here! Inuchiyo-sama and I are quite content with how the house has been managing, and the townsfolk are also doing very well!

ah, glad to hear it! but.. what are you going to do using stuff such as a bamboo sword, exactly? 

Oh, nothing, really—it was a present from a few years back, but I didn’t really know what to do with it. Still, even though its purpose is mere decoration, I did worry when it disappeared all of a sudden. What if that person visited again, and was insulted to find it missing? But now that it has returned, I can relax!

mere decoration, huh? i should get one of those too… but where can i find it? how is Kei-san and Toshiie-san doing? If i have the time, could i visit you and play with them? i get bored so easily these days… i wonder, is it because the weather or maybe i just feel so.. lonesome.

[Matsu sighed, and her manner became suddenly wistful] Keiji has been...away, on a journey of sorts. He did not tell me where he was going, and only hinted to its purpose--but we do miss him, terribly so.

Hello, Itsuki! It seems like it has been a while—you look like you are having fun!

ah, helloo Matsu-san! well i’ve been very busy lately… but i’m back now! did i miss anything good?

Oh, there have been many good things happening! Inuchiyo-sama has been back home, and my ornamental bamboo sword has been returned! I had thought I had lost it, but it mysteriously appeared at the foyer, as if wanted to be let in!

ah, glad to hear it! but.. what are you going to do using stuff such as a bamboo sword, exactly? 

Oh, nothing, really--it was a present from a few years back, but I didn't really know what to do with it.  Y-yes, I’m fine. It’s nothing. *wipes away tears, the food is just so delicious*

Is that so? [She frowns slightly, convinced that there is something else behind those tears; but, for now, it would not do to pry—so she smiled again] Well, please enjoy yourself!

Oh—I remember seeing something about your weapon falling to disrepair! I wonder if you managed to get it fixed yet?

  I certainly will! *He was more than a little embarassed by his tears and was very greatful that Matsu had dropped the subject. Crying was not fitting behavior for a samurai.*

A-ah, yes. My blade. I can’t seem to find the parts I need or anyone to make them, so the scratch is here to stay. It’s only a scratch, really. There’s really no need to fix it. I will figure something out.

But your cooking is wonderful. It just seems to wash all of my worries away. *He chuckled a bit louder than necessary.*

Lady Matsu, your reputation is not exaggerated in the least. In fact I’d say your cooking is better than the rumors say! This is delicious! It’s a pity that my lord cannot make it to try some. I hope that Lord Kenshin gets here soon. It’d be a shame if he missed out on this delicious food.

In honor of Kenshin’s safe return, I could not help but feel that this called for some sort of celebration. Please, do not hold back and help yourselves!
