OOC: I've returned from the grave~~~
It's been awhile. Have you all destroyed each other while I was away?
OOC: Sadly, as you've probably noticed, I haven't been around here much and it's looking like it's going to stay that way for at least a few more months. Just thought I'd let you all know. Hope to catch up with all of you sometime soon. :)
If the mods feel that it's necessary to boot me, then I'll respectfully accept their choice. Thanks guys.

Though it is not yet that time of the year, I thought that I might welcome it with a nice refreshing dish of somen~
This looks delicious, Matsu. I hope you won’t mind if I have some. [chuckles]
Please, Magoichi—do help yourself!
Thank you. [Starts to eat some]
How have you been these days? I'm sure Toshiie is as hungry as ever. His hunger is almost legendary.

You mean they could explode? [Muneshige laughed but looked rather unsettled. He’d meant it as a joke, mostly. He started to wonder what would happen if they exploded- If his hands would be hurt, how Lord Sorin would react, what he’d do from then on, how it would affect his future, if it meant relying on others, if that would mean giving up his place as a warrior… If so he’d like to settle down in a nice quiet house on the edge of the village; he’d collect tea and find time to talk to all his retired friends. [Muneshige jumped and laughed quietly to himself; he’d let his thoughts run away with him again. Luckily he’d taught himself to pay attention to his surroundings while doing so. There was no way that he would have survived as long as he had if he couldn’t.] Yes, I do suppose that I understand. Personally I’d prefer peace, but I’ve met many warriors who think the same as you do. It might just be that lasting peace is impossible in this time. All the same I’m glad that you have a break from all that fighting. [He grinned mischeviously.] But because if you have to fight then you might as well be good at it; good enough to protect your men and good enough to get back to those peaceful days again. [He took a sip of his tea.] And that, of course, is why it’s good to learn to use many sorts of weapons.
They could explode, yes, but as I stated, you’d have to do something extreme and I’ll be watching you every moment, I assure you. You should have no fear of injury from my guns unless you don’t do as I direct.
I have to agree with you on that. We’re fighting for peace and we’ve somehow attained that. I must admit that now that we’ve managed to find peace it seems many are finding themselves at a loss of what to do. War takes planning, patience, training, and many other things that take up a good amount of time. With that time open…well, let’s just say some of us are getting lazy. *chuckles*
I look forward to trying your weapons as well, though I hope they will not be too heavy for me to handle. They do look awfully large.
Well, I’ll have to trust your expertise then, Lady Magoichi. If there’s anyone who I’d trust to teach me to use a gun, it would be you. As for my weapons, they may be a bit heavy but it wouldn’t be fair if I got to use your guns and you couldn’t use my weapons… But I’m afraid that I don’t have anything lighter. I inhereted them from my father and as far as I know there aren’t anything like them in Japan…
But it’s worth a try! You never know until you do, do you? Ah. If you don’t mind me asking… What’s that that you’ve brought along with you?
[Looking behind her, Magoichi blinks] Do you mean the treat I brought? Or one of the weapons? The treat is a simple senbei, nothing fancy. Feel free to try one.

Thank you. [Sitting down, Magoichi placed her small treat on the table before making sure she was comfortable.] I’m sure you’ll find there will be some difficulties with my own weapons that you’re not use to. Your weapon, for one, does not use gun powder. [She chuckled softly.] I can only imagine the disaster that might turn out to be if it did.
This have been rather quiet here on your end of the country, haven’t they? This time of peace seems to leave some relaxed and others unsettled.
Of course. [Muneshige sat down across from her and pured the tea into two. He smiled and put one down in front of her. He loved tea. He’d much rather that disputes were settled over a nice hot cup of tea rather than on the battlefield.] Ah, of course. Gunpowder! I’d forgotten about that. I hope I can manage. I’ve heard that if something goes wrong those things can explode in your hand! [He laughed; it was just a rumor after all, right?] My weapons are a bit fiddly themselves, but I’m sure you’ll be able to handle them. You only need to be careful of the chains and make sure that they have enough fuel to run. We can trade after resting a while like this, if that sounds good to you.
You’re right, it’s been peaceful here. But all the same Lord Sorin’s found plenty of things for me to do, but I don’t like to be idle so it’s better this way. I like to keep myself occupied. How have you been doing? Has anyone asked for your assistance as of late? I’m afraid I haven’t heard much of your area of the country, however it seems like it must be peaceful as well for you to find the time to come visit. You could certainly afford a bit of a break.
[Sipping her tea, Magoichi listened intently, snorting at the comment of a gun exploding in one's hand.] You'd have to do something awful to one of my guns to make them explode on you. But I suppose adding too much gunpowder might do that. No worries though. I'll be sure to show you what the right amount is. I do look forward to trying your own weapons.
No, I've not been called in by anyone lately. There really hasn't been a need. Most of my men have gone back to their homes, helping their families on farms or whatever other needs there are. They've been making their own income, but are willing to come back to the Faction should something call for it. Breaks are nice every now and then. From peace and from war, if you understand my meaning.
I like you better than the other guy though =D you're awesome...
I'm pleased to find that I'm not the only one who thinks so. *smirks*
[A tally mark for Sengoku Basara's Magoichi XD]
that awkward moment when you're not sure how to reply to an ask about a certain man with the same name?
Keep in mind that I was not given this name, but took it on myself after certain events took their role in my life. So yes, in a sense, it is awkward.
Though I did not copy him. I will tell you that. I would not ever copy him.

[Smiling, Magoichi nodded her head in thanks as she entered the building.] My trip went as one could expect, though it was a fairly smooth trip overall. Tea would be greatly appreciated if you wouldn’t mind. [Lifting up a small container, the woman smirked.] I even brought a small treat to be enjoyed between us.
Well that’s good to hear! I’ll be right back. [He hurried off into another room deep in the house and returned in a few minutes with some hot tea. He carefully put it down on a small table and fluffled up the pillows around it- He’d always thought that his wife would be a better general than him, but it was only in more recent years, since he’d begun serving Lord Sorin, that he wondered if he’d make a better homemaker than her. He shook the thought off.]
Please have a seat. It’s good to see you! It will also be good to have a bit to eat and drink before giving our respective weapons a spin. I know mine take a lot of energy to use if you’re not used to them.

Shifting on her feet, the woman waited. It would be no loss to her if no one answered, though she would admit her interest in examining the strange weapons that Muneshige wielded. She hoped he would be the one to answer the door.]
[Muneshige had been careful to find work around the main enterance of the castle for the past few days or so. It wasn’t that he would be embarassed if one of Sorin’s Xavi converts greeted his guest. No- he just thought that it was only proper that he should greet Lady Saika himself to show her the proper amount of respect. Or at least that’s what he told himself.
He heard the knock and immediately sprung up from cleaning his lightning edge for the third time that day. He pulled the door open and smiled.]
Welcome, Lady Saika. I hope that the trip went well? Come in, come in. Would you like some tea? I’m sure that it has been a long journey.

I hope I’m not intruding upon the one day when you should have the peace and comfort of your dreams, but I wished to give you a gift that I purchased earlier this week for you. I do hope you’ll accept it.
[Smiling, Magoichi set the wrapped package on the table before her, hoping that Motonari would like the gift. It had almost called to her when she had first seen it.]

He also nodded to her and took a seat, ignoring the servants that scrambled to serve tea on a short notice.
“How kind of you,” he smiled briefly and looked to the wrapped package. A gift for him— it was so unusual to him, but then again, it wasn’t. His servants and the people of the land gave him many gifts on this day, but always because they wanted his favor for varying reasons. They were never given in earnest like this.
Mori picked up the package and ripped into the wrapping until he revealed the box. Astonished, he ran his fingers over it.
“Such fine craftsmanship,” he smiled again. ”I thank you for this.”
[It pleased her to no end to find that her gift was liked. Even as tea was placed before her, she watched his eyes comb over the glass box. She couldn't be sure if it was from a foreign land, but such skill with glass could not be ignored by anyone.]
I'm pleased that you like it. I must admit that anything with a sun on it reminds me of you, but this box was far too beautiful to be left with the merchant. I'm sure you'll make more use of it than he would and take better care of it as well.
[Sipping her tea, the woman revealed in it's flavor. Motonari always did have the best tea.] Delicious. You certainly do not take the lower road with your tea choices.
Ah, do let me know if you wish to be left in peace. I'll leave as soon as you'd like. I believe this is one day that I can allow myself to do as you would wish.

[Magoichi double checked her supplies once more, making sure that she hadn’t forgotten anything. When she was satisfied that she had everything she needed and wanted to bring, she quickly packed them up, saddled her favorite horse (whose name is Yoru for anyone who is curious :P), and went out on her way. She had two stops ahead of her.
The first was Aki.
The trip took a good part of the day and even if the man didn’t wish to entertain her, she could at the very least, drop off the present she’d gotten for him. It was a gorgeous thing and she’d packed it extremely carefully to make sure it wouldn’t break. Upon arriving at his gate, she dismounted, grabbed his present carefully in her hands, making sure it hadn’t broken, and then walked forward, the gift in one hand, her horse’s reins in the other.
Standing there, she wondered if she should knock. Well, that was impossible, wasn’t it?]
Motonari, are you home? I wish to speak with you.
He was a realistic man that had not at all expected the ridiculous performance of Shinee songs that he’d asked Yukimura and the others for. It had been a joke more than anything and not a real goal. In reality, he had insisted on no party this year and for the day just to stay home and rest. If he was going to be bored half to death on his birthday, he might as well do it on his own terms.
He was in the middle of dessert when he was notified that someone had come to see him. A servant would be the one to greet Magoichi while another alerted the lord to the presence of a visitor and helped him become presentable. Magoichi would be taken to the sitting room, and a short while later, Motonari appeared, looking wary.
“It has been quite a while…”
[Magoichi watched silently as the man came into the room and bowed her head politely.]

But I must respect the weapon that my father has passed down to me. If it were not for my gloves I am afraid that I would have lost several fingers by now. I keep setting it off by accident.
I have been trying to find a way to fix the nick in the blade from the time that my wife threw it. It’s a wonder that she could damage it like that, though it has survived countless battles with hardly a scratch. I suppose that I will have to replace the belt soon though I am not sure where to find one. While I take great pride in my weapon sometimes the upkeep can be difficult. Traditional smiths are not equipped to repair it.
I am aware that some of you also have rather unconventional weapons. Do you have any advice?
Yours is a tricky weapon to handle, I’m sure. Simply keeping it looking nice must be rather time-consuming as well. I’m sure that what you’ve been doing so far to keep it in shape is all that can really be done. My weapons are far different from your own, but they are just as sensitive.
My only advice would be to pay attention to every detail. Let nothing escape your eye. You should know your weapon better than anyone else. I’m sure in your case that’s very true, but still let nothing slip. As for the nick, I can only suggest letting a blacksmith look at it if you feel it could become a problem. Otherwise, let it be. A weapon without a…’scar’ of some kind can never truly be called a weapon as it probably has never seen the brutality of a battlefield.
Perhaps you are correct about weapons and their scars, but I would prefer that this particular one was gone. I am not sure that a scar from a cooking pot is as honorable as one from a sword. My wife has an arm on her. Sometimes I think that she’s far better suited for the battle field than I am.
I have, however, finally managed to get the chain off! … Oh no. This really needs some cleaning.
How do you manage with your weapons? They seem to have incredibly small parts too. More-so than mine. I’d like to try them some day if possible. It’s always fun to try new weapons and advantagous if you happen to lose your own in the field of battle. It came in handy in my younger years when I wasn’t as accustomed to my weapons.
The only way, that I can think of, to remove such a dent or chip would be to go to a blacksmith, as I suggested before. Unless you feel you are skilled enough to mend the metal yourself. Otherwise such a mark will stay where it is.
I would not mind showing you one or two of my own weapons. There are many small parts, but my guns have been made in a way that they are easily taken apart and cleaned. It was the design of...the former leader of the Saika Faction.
Perhaps an exchange could be in order? I would very much like to look at your weapons. I have to admit that I'm intrigued by the uniqueness of them.
